Really easy, quick and value for money, box fitted in my car with no issues. The app is a really great way to keep track of driving, mileage etc.

I was told my black box fitting would be a PM appointment on the 3rd of June, which was my deadline day which I think it's quite odd in itself, they should have extended the deadline as there could have been a problem. And there was. I was then contacted the day before my appointment to tell me it would be an AM appointment, so the hours extra I'd worked throughout the week to get home in time for my appointment was all pointless, so I was now stuck unknowing what to do.. So I contacted the company and asked how we could get around this, and they asked whether they could do it at work which would have been perfect, though I work somewhere with an MK postcode, which is a different engineer who could only come on the 9th of June, surprise.. That's after my deadline day, which isn't my fault. So in the end I have to book a half day off at work to stay home for the AM appointment, only for the guy to tell me he can't fit it because my alloys are not standard, despite the fact that the size and profile are in the manual as an option for the Fiat, this isn't entirely their fault as I could have changed them, but as they were in the manual I thought they'd be okay. So he leaves me saying I'll get a call tomorrow, and I'm completely in the unknown with where my policy stands, as it's the deadline and I don't have the telesmatics box fit, I'm guessing Im uninsured? But I don't know because I wasnt contacted by the company. So I ring up myself.. I explain my problem to the women, and she sends me to another member of the department, where I was put on hold until the offices closed, so I couldn't speak to anyone. Today has now come and there offices are closed and I haven't received a phone call, as the man said I would. So I still don't know where I stand on valid insurance. Not happy with this company at all.

Seems like a great insurance company, enjoyed being with them and was initially told they're one of the best and I agree. Carrot have a great concept and I love it! I would absolutely recommended carrot to a friend.

Looking out for good value car insurance as a new driver under can be tricky, more so as a guy under 24 years of age. After much phoning and comparison websites, Carrot Insurance kept cropping up with the best deal, and seemed much more oriented to new drivers too! Advisers were more than friendly, and setting up the policy and installation of the black box was arranged and carried out without fuss. Keeping track of my driving score wasn't quite as fuss free, as the mobile app doesn't give any details about the scores but simple policy info, contact details and how much money I have earn't through driving well. So use of a computer was necessary for me. Contacting support about this issue didn't result in anything useful so I gave up on the app and stuck to checking via computer. As such keeping your scores high wasn't too difficult at all, but usage might catch a few out as I sometimes have to drive to different towns or make many short journeys in a day. Currently on track to receive my card at the end of this first reward quarter and put the rewards to use! It's a great incentive to get young drivers driving safely and properly, so highly recommended from me.

One of the best deals I found and they don't have curfews like a lot of the others. However I found the customer service with the black box company to be quite poor

Great value insurance for a new driver like myself. The new driver dashboard and app is very helpful, even letting you know as soon as you've stepped out of your car how you've done. Only niggle is the lack of customer service advisors for the amount of customers as I have found myself on hold for over half an hour more than once now.

Carrot insurance is extremely easy to use and provides fast information on my driving. It rely helped me to keep my insurance costs down and assess my driving.

Fairly straight forward, they give you all the information you need when you take out your policy, hard to get in touch via the phone, however I've found the emailed responses are perfect. The app is easy enough to use and gives me some good tips (it definitely makes me feel more confident about my driving since I have only passed my test a month). All and all I could not complain. The only downside to having a box fitted is even though my speed and usage are always +10, I get marked down a lot for my usage but unfortunately I have busy life and need to use my car more than 4 times a day, if they could give you an option to choose how many short trips you use on average a day this would help my overall score.
