“After reading the reviews on this site I thought my experience was going to be awful, but it was very easy and pleasant. Picked my miles, paid for it, sent them my pass certificate and got my black box fitted quickly and without problems. They waited fine for my online counterpart licence to refresh and show I had a full license over a provisional. Scores are fine, just as long as you don't break the speed limits they aren't going to fault you. Usage is a little bit random but I've driven and 10:30 and still not gone into negative scores. So far so good, I would defiantly recommend this company to others at this point.”

“this insurance company did not add the correct people to my policy that i had inputted before i submitted my forms and agreed to the terms and conditions. They then blamed the error on me and said they will add the other driver to my policy for a fee of £350 ! the other person as a driver on my policy was supposed to make my insurance cheaper so paying the £350 fee would not be worth my money as i would not be saving anything in fact i would be losing money. when i tried to query other issues i was having with them i had to wait over a week to get any response. After emailing 5 times they decided to call me in the middle of the day after me clearly stating in two of my emails i cannot receive or make calls during work times. So as a result of this is missed their call to then wait on hold for my full lunch break and get no answer. When i finally got an answer i was once again told i was lying about being stuck in traffic and got told "the road you were on wouldn't have any traffic" bearing in mind that it is a big busy industrial estate during rush hour. I DO NOT recommend this insurance provider to any first time driver. they will rip you off. accuse you of lying. blame you for their mistakes and give you false information. i did not even receive all the packs of information they were meant to send so found out half way through the month why my score was going down. When you turn your ignition on in your car even when sitting still outside a house or in a drive waiting for a friend they put your score down. However this was not told until i spent hours on the phone weeks after taking out the policy. I cannot even cancel my policy now because i will loose a £450 deposit and forced to pay an additional £150 cancellation fee. all because of errors within their business. Highly Disappointed, it would be interesting to know if other people have experienced these issues.”

“The mobile app is good and really helps you know how you are driving but constantly getting marked down on usage for making multiple journeys a day is bad, lowering the percentage discount you can get for next year, It was easy to take a policy out with carrot and the staff was helpful but I wouldn't recommend anyone because of the usage marks lowering cash rewards and discounts”

“This is the worst insurance company you could possibly go with. After being kept on hold for hours you're greeted by rude staff, who have absolutely no interest on helping you solve any of your questions or queries. So i urge anyone and everyone to stay clear of this terrible company.”

“I haven't had a problem with my black box yet but I have with my policy and the installation. I have spent literally hours on the phone on hold waiting for someone who were then useless and even lied to me. For cheap insurance choose Carrot, for anything else don't.”

“So far amazing! I was dreading taking out my first policy because I thought I would be really confusing, but it was the best price and the documents were vibrant and easy to understand! The dashboard app makes it easy to track what you are doing and how well I'm driving, I use it almost on a daily basis, I find the mileage county useful as I had clearly underestimated my mileage and without this app I probably wouldn't have noticed, I would reccomend,”

“If you are reading this, DO NOT take out a policy with this joke of a company. After 5 months of driving responsibly following speed limits etc, carrot decided to cancel my insurance due to the reason I was clocked doing 31mph in a 20mph zone for about 10 seconds. Now my future insurance premiums for the next 5 years are sky high thanks to carrot. Do not take out a policy with this company you will regret it one day.”
