In July of 2022 my wife had a serious accident passing through Munich Airport. The injury was so bad she had to attend hospital on the advice of the paramedics. The. Injury was to her right carf muscle it required 20 stitches inside and the outside of this muscle. If the laserations had been much longer it could have taken part of the muscle off. Chaucer have declined to pay any compensation . This was a accident that the insurance did not cover A accident is( a unplanned event) this was certainly a unplanned event. Chaucer are the underwriters of the travel company I got my policy from,it is Chaucer decision not to consider some compensation. I ask myself how good is your Travel Insurance. These people are hiding behind there T&C's . Here we are again the little man being stuffed by large. Insurance companies. They are nothing more than a company that have no consideration for people that have sustained a serious accident. Chaucer ask for a rating, I'll give them one -10.

Chaucer has not publicly ruled out underwriting insurance for the East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline project. EACOP will devastate lives, livelihoods and economic systems – and it’s already doing so. In total, over 100,000 people in Uganda and Tanzania will permanently lose land they rely on, and many will be forcibly removed from their homes. Many have already been displaced, facing harassment, intimidation, and inadequate compensation. Chaucer should join other global insurance entities in denying cover for this environmentally devastating and locally exploitative project, which more than a million people have already raised objections to.

Shocking service...I was involved in a hit and run with your client and no one is getting back to me. 3 weeks of phoning on a daily, on hold for over 2 hours at a time. AND if I get through it's just to be told we will follow up and get back to you. My car is sitting collecting dust and I am losing out on money due to your incompetence. I will be getting the Ombudsman involved!

Cannot leave a minus score! Dreadful, shameful, crooks. Although insured well before Covid 19 restrictions, and although legally obligated to honour the policy, this company refuses to help with any of the consequences resulting from the imposed restrictions. Please, never waste your money by dealing with Chaucer Travel Insurance.

Unbelievable layers when you need to get money back. Already tree weeks, but still waiting for cheque. Unreasonable expensive. Not pleased customer service with plain dry explanations to any question and increasing the prices every year. Don't trust Mathew at all. LAYER!!! Happy that finally I canceled the service with them. Not recommended at all.

Since 2012 I have tried to take out insurance via Comparethemarket.com but have been politely politely. It was only in July 2016 that I was informed by CUE that I have an "Fault "that is a direct result of Chaucer Insurance wrongly passing incorrect information to CUE. In 2012 I was riding a bycicle and had a collision with an motor vehicle. The driver admitted liability and a claim for injuries was also settled with Chaucer Insurance. However, in july 2016 I was advised by my current insurance company that CUE ( Claims Underwriting Exchange) have recorded a fault that occured in 2012. I was not a driver at the time and therefore could not understand what was happenning until I discovered that Chaucer Insurance have recorded a "Fault" claim against me ( something to do with a seatbelt). My policy doubled unexpectedly and hence I traced this to Chaucer Insurance who I am reliably advised recorded wrong information via CUE. I have been trying to contact their Compliance Officer to no avail. Tried their customer Support too and simply got fed up and now regard this company as unreliable. they do not return urgent emails and certainly I think the public should be aware of a scam whereby your information on CUE is manipulated to increase monthly payments. We all know the CUE was not intended to be misused in this way. However, Chaucer Insurance have proven to me that they are an unproffessional organisation. Their customer suport is awful and I would advise any potential Insurance customer; stay away from Chaucer Insurance.
