Awful scam company, DO NOT USE - I've been with Insure the Box for over two years and all seems fine with cheap prices. I found out the hard way their prices are very cheap for a reason. Because they have very poor customer service and only want your money. After having an accident where a car crashed into the back of me, they did not care at all. I called the recovery number (as I pay extra for recovery) and they said they could take my car to a location (which they could not provide over the phone) where they can fix it for a cost (even though the crash was not my fault) - what a joke. Not a single sorry to hear about what had happened, in fact, the useless girl on the phone talked as if I was in the wrong. I took a risk with a company which provides a cheaper price then the bigger insurance companies, now I wish I hadn't. Don't make the same mistake as me and give this scam people your money. It's worth paying more knowing you'll actually receive a good service when you need it the most. I complained about the service and four weeks later, I've still not heard anything. What a joke of an "insurance" company.

Absolutely disgusted with the company! I took my policy out 3 months ago I paid almost £1000 (as it costs more as I was 17) IN FULL which I saved for for months. And because I stay at my boyfriends house half of the week they’ve made me change my address which cost me £107.87 including a £25 admin fee! Complete joke and I would not recommend to anyone insuring their first car! All they want is your money!!!!

I have just renewed with insure the box. I see a lot of negative reviews on here about the mileage cap, having to stick to speed limits, the box draining the battery... At the end of the day if you sign up to a policy with a 6000 mile cap you know what your getting into at the start, i personally drive half that a year so it makes sense, if you drive more than that then dont take the policy, if you are unsure if you do then check and make sure top up miles are affordable to you. As for sticking to the speed limits, especially the 20 mph, yes its a nightmare, nobody else does, but again i knew this was the case going in so i cant moan about it. As for the battery being drained by the box, im sure it effects everyone differently but i drive my car very little, sometimes not even once a week and that can be a few miles then nothing again for a week, ive had 2 cars, both older models and never had an issue with my battery. I also see some negative reviews on the customer service, I have spoken to them a few times over the time i have been with them and they have been nothing but polite and helpful. The only issue i had was that my renewal was a week late (they state that it will be 21 days before end of policy, but was actually 14) which isn't the end of the world. With anything in life its best to look closely at what you are getting yourself into before commuting, I knew about 6000 miles, i knew about having to stick to the speed limits so i stick to these things, why people are moaning is beyond me, you knew going in. Yes the top up miles are a bit excessive but again you knew about this going in, info is available. I haven't had to claim and hope i never will, so cant comment on this, but from what i know about the company i would recommend without hesitation.

Disgusting service and attitude to there customers. The top up system crippled me and was not correctly described to me so i went from a £2500 policy to a £4500, don't bother using them, unless you like being spoken to like a piece of sh*t.

Wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Took out insurance online. Then received an email and letter saying they needed my V5 document and Proof of No Claims which I sent by 1st class post. Received an email at 12:12 to tell me my insurance was cancelled at 00:01. Telephoned and was told they did not have my documentation and policy cancelled. To reinstate I needed to start a new policy and pay first payment again despite a pro ratad refund of £144 due. Asked to speak to manager who said under no circumstances could insurance be reinstated without renewing the policy and paying deposit again. Taking this to the Ombudsman. Daughter was out in car when I received the email. PLEASE stay away from them!

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis I have been asked to work from home. I am in the military so the address on the policy is where I am based as that is where the car is the majority of the time. However, for the past couple of months the car has been at home (a different address) and has hardly been used. I have received an email threatening to cancel my policy due to the address being incorrect and they have noticed because the box reports the location. I though a quick chat would clear things up however they are unwilling to allow me to continue without a change to the address, even though I explained I am returning to work next week, requiring me to change again. Both times would incur a £25 admin fee for the privilege and use of my time sitting on the phone, on hold, to change. You would think they would be offering refunds like some other insurers based on reduced claims as a result of this crisis. Quite a lot have allowed policy changes for free if the change is due to COVID-19. Not insurethebox, they just want more money. They also want a £80 cancelation fee rather than the £30 fee had the box not been fitted. The box was fitted in 2016! I think I have more than paid for the box with the 3 previous policies I have had. Had I not auto-renewed on any of those previous policies I would not have been charged for the box so why am I being charged now?

Constantly giving m a red score for speeding, even though I have a dash cam that shows no speeding WHATSOEVER! Then sent an email with wording that was extremely threatening, saying they may cancel my insurance. I have been driving for over 30 years and only took this policy so my son could drive my car, which he hardly ever does, so I think I would know if and when I was speeding! This company are sharks - pure and simple - preying on young drivers who think this is the only way to get insurance. Well they can shove it, as far as they can where the sun don't shine!

These rip off merchants have ruined my driving experience they are constantly threatening to cancel my policy because of my reoccurring "speeding" on some 20 mph roads it is not safe to drive under the speed limit as you get tailgated and overtaken very dangerously. The fastest I go is 2-5 mph faster than the speed limit yet these uneducated people are threatening to cancel my policy. I now have no option but to cancel the policy myself otherwise I will not be able to get insured at a reasonable price with any other insurer. Hiding behind the law using your policies to exploit people and rinse their wallets isn't right. My friends are with Tesco bank box insurance and they have had no problems at all at times when they need to exceed the speed limit by 5-10 mph to maintain safe driving they have not been threatened to get their policies cancelled. You have my word if my policy gets cancelled I will take this to Court and you better have a good legal team.

Awful customer service the company speak to you lie your something they have stepped in. They have such a poor attitude when it comes to resovling a customer issue and are the only company I have ever known to not be able to put me through to their manager to sort out my issue. Leaving the company early as I do. It feel like giving them a years jnsurance money. Absolutely disgusted . Go elsewhere and pay a little more money this company isn't worth it !!!!

I've had to give this company one star because unfortunately it won't let me give them none! I purchased my car insurance and had nothing but problems for three months with having the box fitted and they're untimely fashion of updating all your information onto their computers. I own a high performance car which they are saying is modified because I am brandishing a sticker of a tuning company that I use to get my compression tests done annually, also the car has some Mazda stickers on it that brandish the model of the vehicle. In their defence my car does have tinted windows which I understand could be classed as a moderate modification. But since when did having stickers on your car warrant your policy being cancelled. Customer service is absolutely awful and no resolution or negotiation was able to take place. If I was you I would seriously reconsider using these cowboys

Worst insurance company ever. Today I cancelled my policy. I had 6000 miles policy which I drove in about 8 months. On cancellation I was charged £300 because according to them I was over the limit on pro rata basis even though I had around 200 miles left. This was not told me when I took the policy. Just wanted to take money in every possible way. And they have worst customer service . I had to call them 10 times to cancel my policy. Never ever take their policy
