“Took out a house insurance policy on-line, and paid on line via credit card for the 12 months. Had a letter from L&G 30 days later demanding payment and telling me the property was un-insured until I paid. Checked with my credit card provider and the transaction went through the day before the policy commenced. Spent a few hours sorting out their mess and incompetence by digging out correspondence, contacting them by phone (no free-phone number) and by email, to be told they had received my payment at the time, but not allocated it to the policy. Staff were very polite hence they get a star !, but not the company !!”
