I don't normally put things on here like this, but I am so angry and I don't want anyone else to get stung in the same way Recently I had to cancel an insurance policy on a car because it failed the MOT. I called the company and was advised that it would cost £120 to cancel. Although I thought this extortionate I agreed. Within a week or so I received a letter from them saying that in fact because my policy had non refundable optional extras I would be charged £199.50 to cancel my policy. I was shocked and called to ask what extras I had. I am not normally one to opt for extras, especially non refundable ones! "But you renewed your policy with these extras",they said. I also explained that I had let the insurance policy rollover because at the time I was at St George's in Tooting where my brother, having had life saving brain surgery, was in a coma. They eventually said they would look into it. A few weeks past and then I received a phone call, which I was unable to take as I was at work. The lady said they would send me a letter to inform me of the outcome of their investigation. True enough a letter arrived saying they had investigated and because my policy had been renewed it meant that I should have read that there were extras and the small print would say non refundable so therefore I now owed them £219. A £20 increase! Within 24 hours of this letter I had received an email and a text from a debt collection agent working on their behalf within the next 24 hours I had also received a phone call. All chasing payment and insisting I contact them URGENTLY! Although they have stated I can contact the ombudsman, I probably won't be able to do anything about it now, but I did want to warn people. Ask the questions How much will it cost to cancel my policy? Are you adding any extras to my policy? Are these extras non refundable? But most importantly do not use this company. I have felt hounded for a debt that was less than 24 hours old.....more a payment than a debt!! And they have charged me an extra £20 for the privilege.

They are a SCAM. Awful company with a horrible customer service team. They demand money off you for no reason, and when you question it only then will they back down. They demand £110 just to amend personal details. Horrible company who only want money. Would never use them again.

As stated in previous reviews I which I didn't have to click on a star to rate this Company. I signed up for this insurance without reading the reviews unfortunately. It took a month before readings from my black box were received on the dashboard. These readings gave me a high score for where I travelled but under 30% and on occasions under 20% for braking and acceleration. I offered to give them proof of two years readings from my previous black box with a different company where I scored regularly over 62%. This was not acceptable and they wanted initially over £1200 on top of my round about £800 already paid. Then I was told they were cancelling my policy. I am now left with no insurance and no money as they will hold onto the remainder of the insurance money as I paid up front. So no money to get more insurance. Don't know how I'm going to get to work or my son to school. S o

This is a SCAM company, i cannot believe confused.com allows scammers like these to even be able to sell insurance, i paid nearly £400 deposit .. i am not rich and getting £400 was difficult putting in extra hours at work, i made the biggest mistake of my life not reading the reviews before buying! I thought how bad could it be.. so after they took the £400 deposit they sent me a sms saying "You will get a call for someone to come install a black box in 24hours" .. 1 week later nothing so i had to call myself to sort it out. Comes the day of it being installed, a old asshole turns up in his fiesta to install it.. he then tells me i have "Stickers on my car" and need to call them to tell them! I did explain i could remove them if they are an issue but he assured me its okay and will be fine (if i could go back i would have knocked the a**hole out) He then tells me he can't install it and leaves, 10 mins later i get email saying they cancelled my policy just a week after taking £400? Really? Bunch of bellends these are SCAMMERS!! Pls pay extra and go with someone else! From all these reviews none are positive from real people .. you see fake ones (done by them) Demand a cancellation fee.. you fucktards wise driving can suck on my mushroom tip.

This company within one month trebled my policy due to sudden braking or sharp accelerating, Was around 26-27 in the first month. said to them they need to check the box as i have never had any issues before hand, Cancelled the policy then withdrew 456.10 from my account and are refusing to give it back 6 months later . dont want to raise a complaint so i can pursue further. JOKE OF A COMPANY AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please don t use it!!! i ve a had a black box installed and after 1 month of driving, based on my score i was charged a £885 premium which almost doubled my initial figure. i ve never had issues with my driving score before with different companies so i know its just a way of making money, but to double my insurance after 1 month its just too much with 8 yrs of no claim bonus. when i tried to cancel it they charged me £75 cancelation fee, another premium to be paid which i will know in 7 to 14 days plus £90 if i want my black box to be removed. don t be fooled, they are a joke, :((((((

AVOID !! They charge more than then say they will, they make problems with box installation! be aware !!! I insured my first car with them in July 2015. The price seemed to be good and they sounded reasonable. I had black box Installed and it was alright for first few months. Then it all started. I moved houses so I needed to make changes to my policy , I went online tired to make changes on their website but it didn't let me do any changes so I had to phone them. They said they will take the admin fee off as I was not able to use website. After I made changes and got letter with my premium changes it actually shown that they charged me for making changes to my policy by phone!! (£35) After first year passed, my car Has been smashed by a bus and it needed to be scrapped so I got myself a new car, made changes on website, all seems to be fine until - they collected box installation fee twice . I had to call them and losoe my time to try to get my money back. After a week I got it back. So, they wanted to install the black box to a new car, I was working mobile, using my car as a business car so they couldn't attend installation on my work premises . I gave them plenty of days and times I can be at home, they agreed for one date but it resolved with me having to take unpaid day off so I lost my earnings.(£60) I was waiting for them all day long and no one has come! Called them for explanation and all they said was that they had some problems with booking system so they will have to reschedule for another day. I was already angry but agreed for next week afternoon which again came with cancelling one customer so I can be back home for installation. Lost my money again (£25) and what happened - they didn't come again!! called them really angry said I'm loosing my money on them , paying for their mistakes and I'm really sick of that. What also they said they will have to cancel my policy due to my box was not installed in 14 days from buying a policy!! I got really fed up, asked to speak to manager but obviously they didn't let me. After hours on the phone they managed to find someone to come and install my box next day after 6pm. I lost over £100 by those few months , lost my time and my nerves with them. Alright box installed I'm driving my car and want to check my score. Two month after it was installed - no data collected from my new box. Three month later - the same. I lost so much money and time to have black box installed and it wasn't even working!! after another month I had to change this car as it turn out to be in really bad condition and not worth driving. Same situation here, trying to change it online , shows me message that I can't do it online I have to call them, so I did and the same situation with the fee. They said they won't charge me for making changes as it's their fault with the website. And again getting the letter with premium changed - it's says that administration fee and also black box fee was added to my premium! I was so angry cause by the time I was I with them I already lost money cancelling my customers, paying admin fees or for black box which was not even working etc. So another black box need to be Installed and they just kept changing the dates! again, lost lots of money! (over £100) After almost a month waiting for my box to be Installed they said they will come on the 21st Nov at the morning I said fine but Im leaving about 2-3pm so make sure they will come in the morning, they said They did put a note for me to be a priority as they already extent my installation period for next two weeks. Sunday afternoon they are calling me to say sorry our engineer is sick so he won't be able to come in the morning we can get someone to come late afternoon but I already mentioned to them Im going to be moving my mother to different city so I won't be there, so they cancelled appointment and said they will call me back on Monday morning to discuss what we can do next. Monday comes, no one called me. I moved out on Friday 25 , drove all the way from Southampton to Nottingham, I was driving my car for whole week and I called them next Monday to ask what's going on and what I am finding out? They cancelled my policy on the 22nd of Nov and didn't told me a single word about it!!! I was driving without insurance for entire week! They collected my installment on then 21st and cancelled my policy next day! they charged me a cancellation fee and didn't refund me for my box Installation or admin fees I paid. After all of that happened I tried to speak to them but they were not helpful at all! Some of them were very arrogant on the phone laughing at me ! I checked all letters from them to see how much money they supposed to collect from me to this day , checked my bank statements and I was shocked! They collected over £100 more than they should! I lost hundreds of pounds on them !! This is ridiculous! I will take some legal advice and will try to get my money back. Please avoid them, better to pay few pounds more a month but get a insurance from decent company ! you don't need that stress and loosing your money.

PLEASE DO NOT GET INSURED WITH THESE PEOPLE!! Being a first time driver I couldn't wait to start driving, passed my test and wanted to get insured that day and I definitely wish I had waited for a better deal. I'm a 21 year old girl and without a black box I was quoted 400 a month or with a Black Box the cheapest was 160 a month. It was between sheilas wheels and wise driving, sheilas wheels website was down so STUPIDLY I chose to go with wise driving, although the information on their website and on the policy (which I read thoroughly) seemed pretty fair so I gave them a go. Firstly whilst trying to get insured their website was crashing and they ended up taking 2 x deposits and I was left with 2 x car insurance which I obviously didn't need. Called them first thing in the morning as I wasn't sent any confirmation email (only when I checked online banking to see I'd been charged twice), spoke to someone who didn't apologise, just said they would cancel the 2nd insurance policy and refund the money. a few days later I did receive my refund and started to receive emails regarding getting the black box fitted etc. Then I received an email saying my policy is being cancelled and I'm being charged 40 for missing my black box appointment which wasn't due to be fitted until a few days later. Again I had to call them up and ask whats happening and again with no apology they said it must have been an error and canceled the fee.. ANYWAY so the day comes to get the black box fitted, the guy knocks asks for the key and I go to give him my paperwork and he says he doesn't even need it, despite what the emails say. The box was fitted in about 10 mins and he was on his way. When I tried to track my driving on the online dashboard it wouldn't let me log in, had to call yet again to get this fixed and even then it wasn't showing any data. So again I called them and asked why, they said and I quote ' WE DON'T START COLLECTING DATA UNTIL YOU'VE DRIVEN 2000 MILES' ??? what! I said how can that be possible I might not even drive 2000 miles and she said its just how they do it. I called again to speak to someone else as I couldn't believe the previous answer and they said they collect data after the box is installed for 2weeks.. Please don't believe a word they say, I am a sensible driver and only have a 1.1 Peugeot so I can hardly speed anyway. I drive to work and back and that's about it, I have driven after 11pm only once or twice also. Finally after constantly checking my dashboard for data it showed up after about 3 weeks and I honestly was shocked. My day/night score was 100% and it said I hadn't driven between 11pm-5am. WRONG! I did drive a couple of times between these hours so this shows how inaccurate they are. It also said that my Speed was Poor & My Acceleration was Very Poor (0%). I can't really understand how my speed can be poor as I live in London with constant traffic and have never had the opportunity to even do the speed limit let alone speed. I Also don't understand how my acceleration is 0% but hey, you call them for help and be put on hold for 10 minutes only never to be answered again. They also do not reply to emails yet are able to email me telling me that my premium is going up due to my poor driving. I have emailed and asked for proof of these journeys and the speed I was doing, time and date etc. Still with no reply. I do not believe that their readings are accurate at all, they really are just trying to con young people out of money that we haven't got. Please Please do not go with Wise Driving, Regardless of the cancellation cost I will be cancelling and would rather pay 300 a month and not be constantly worried!!

Very very poor, I insured my car with wise driving and cancelled my policy within the 2 week cancellation period as I found a cheaper quote, only till then when I received a letter asking me to pay and outstanding balance, this is poor as they got additional 2 weeks pay out of me and now are asking for more money and now are adding additional charges throughout the weeks, I would not recommend wise driving too anyone or encourage them as a last resort, stay away

My insurance includes "black box" because I'm young driver, today received email saying that my driving points gone down from 100 to 27 after 3 months driving, and they want me to pay 5300 within 7 days as extra premium value because of 'dangerous driving'. Cost of my premium when I bought it was 2300 a year and i paid in full. Seems that I'll be stuck with nice debt. One more thing, when I bought it nobody told me when they will check my points and how much they may charge me if they go down, seems that this company can do whatever they want and whenever they want. For example Admiral never charge customs for bad points on black box until end of policy and that's good thinking because how they know how I'm gonna drive next month? I understand that there is a risk of collision but it is part of driving any vehicle... anyway just ridiculous. AVOID THIS INSURANCE COMPANY !

I will second the last review. I paid almost £400 down on my insurance policy to be paid monthly, they were the second cheapest company quote wise with a black box to be fitted. So I presumed they wouldn't be as shoddy as someone like 'GoSkippy' I'm a first time car owner and passed my test in early October 2016, with a dependent child. Everything was fine to begin with, quick and easy to set up with key cover at a reasonable rate, sadly came the day for my black box to be fitted (Shortly after a really bad bereavement in the family, so a car was and is still much needed!) the man did all electrical checks on my car and had me sign the deceleration. I leave him to fit the box and 5 minutes later he shows up at my door handing me my car keys telling me the insurance company have told him to cancel the fitting of the box! With everything going on, I'm having a small break down and ring the insurance company up who tell me my car has 'Alloy tyres' My car is a Corsa 1.0 Life 2004 plate, it's literally a tin can on wheels, so this surprised me to hear! I've heard of 'Alloys' but I couldn't tell you what they looked like or what they were, I explained this to the guy on the phone as best I could because with all the stress at this point I was in tears down the phone feeling the right idiot. I was told 'This happens a lot with new drivers who just don't know if they have modifications on their cars' I told him that i'd just lost my father in law in a horrible manner and that I needed my car more than ever now, in fairness he said he'd see what he could do, but this meant phoning the ACTUAL people who insured me, because they're a third party insurance. A middle man if you will. He spoke to the company and asked them if I changed my wheels to standard wheels which bore the Vauxhall plates if they'd consider keeping me insured. Their answer was 'no' because they don't deal with modified cars that don't have wheels that hold the cars logo. Which meant they got to keep all of my money and charge me! Luckily the guy on the phone managed to get me a 'Good will deal' off his manager and halved the cancellation fee. Sadly I don't have another £400 to put down on my insurance just yet and will have to use a bus to sort everything needed to bury my father in law. All because this company use a money grabbing third party insurance company. I'd 100% stay clear of this insurance company! They're out for your money and would probably make your insurance invalid for hanging an air freshener off your mirror - because in their eyes, it's a modification, even if you're unaware! Spend the extra £100 and get someone reliable and trust worthy.

Before I took out insurance, I didn't realise they can charge you extra premium even after I paid upfront. If you're already tight on money, you will be checking their dashboard regularly, which doesn't update regularly! Their acceleration & braking scores are unreliable. One day, a 3 mile journey, I accelerated from clutch only, no gas. And, accelerated slowly thereafter. I also gently braked early. Still driving score for acceleration & braking less then 30/100! I'm assuming the majority of people insured (or looking to get insured) are students, who are already tight on cash. Forget exam stress! You will be stressing out every month when they "review" your policy & consequently charge you extortionate amounts for "bad driving". By the way, I've been charged an extra £320 in my second month. Therefore I'm cancelling ASAP. As I can't increase my driving score no matter how hard I try, and I don't want to be hit with another premium bump.

I would advise anyone who is thinking of taken insurance out with wisedriving NOT TOO! i changed from Admiral to Wisedriving because they were coming up £10 cheaper than admiral so i decided to move. I got the littlebox fitted in my car (which i had with admiral) so i wasnt fussed about getting it fitted for wisedriving! First payment was £56 which was great then my second payment i was advised my premium was going up to £204 because of my driving dashboard and my little box. I was apparently harsh braking, speeding and accelerating too harsh. This was just a scam for me because being with admiral for many years i never had a problem with my driving. Also the customer service of wisedriving is a complete joke. They keep you on hold for hours and give you no answers to any of your questions they are asking. This is very unprofessional for a company. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!!!! ABSOLUTE SCAMS
