“Took the cover out in Nov just after i got my first car. Price was very low and concidering i only have a part time job being cheap was needed. But first off my monthly payments went up £36 extra for the year because i put the wrong date i passed my test. My car broke down the other day and i now have 14 days to get a new car or they will cancel my insurance and change ME for it, and if i do get another car they will change me £140 ish to get a new black box installed. Worst company ever, NEVER EVER GOING WITH THEM AGAIN!”

“Never use !!!!! Paid 1,071 up front for a years insurance in March 2016 to have a email recived in May saying I owe them 1,272 due to erratic driving!!! Bearing in mind I have a 2 year old daughter i think this is disgusting and will be taking it further. Absolute con”

“Disgraceful am taking proceedings through ombudsman watchdog fca etc as I they are breaking rules as after paying deposit and getting black box fitted to find out there creditors will not accept me as my credit rating dosent meet there criteria after taking over 368 pound for a deposit if I hadn't been constantly been phoning to arrange a payment date I could of been driving unknowingly uninsured avoid at all costs and please spread the word also if you have been affected take actions to stop anyone else being scamed by these thieves”

“Very disappointed with this company. As cancelled my policy with out me knowing until I received a letter in the post 2 days later and should of got a phone call as got 5 year old son that I was taking to school and am 9 months pregnant. Would not use again.”

“Absolutely awful, do yourself a favour and spend the extra money on a reliable insurer that doesn't prey on new drivers or who think every possible way of draining money from their customers. It's sad that in this day and age there are still businesses that run with absolutely no professional etiquette and treat their customers (who have spent hundreds of pounds with them) like dirt. Don't let the cheap price tag on the car insurance comparison websites fool you, you will end up spending far more with them through all of their hidden charges and additional costs. AVOID!”

“Ho i wish there was a a rating lower than very poor. In fact, it is no coincidence that so may people are rating these guys very poor. They are honestly one of the worst services when it comes to providing insurance. I would not hesitate to dissuade anyone wanting to join them, please you will get better value for your money elsewhere. They will make you pay a deposit and before you know they will be cancelling your policy in less than 2 weeks and charging you 75 pounds. Its an organise way to extort money from people and they would claim that they are acting in line with their policy. Please refrain from being a victim of the poor experience that may are testifying to.”

“I largely funded and took out a Policy for my 18 year old grandson who recently passed his test and and had managed to scrimp together £2200 for an 8 year old Fiesta. It was the best quote on the comparison site GoCompare which I trusted. After 5 months experience of Wise Driving I have to concur with the appalling reviews posted about this company and am amazed they have been allowed to continue their very dubious practice of getting young drivers into their fold with attractive quotes and then operating a deliberate policy of cancellation for spurious reasons, returning the payment made for the policy less a penalty of many hundreds of pounds and then inviting acceptance of a new policy .... surprise, surprise, dearer than the cancelled one ! It appears difficult to escape from the situation because alternative insurance firms don't like insuring people with cancelled policies! How is it possible to escape from them? I shall look for reviews giving advice on this. Maybe recourse to the Ombudsman is the only solution.”

“Avoid at all costs. They cancelled my son's policy due to him breaking a term and condition which doesn't even exist in their Policy. They even confirmed that, and apologised - after it was cancelled. They gave us a date and time his insurance would be cancelled by, and despite me phoning 3 different times and speaking to 3 different people, all confirmed it was being cancelled. We found a new policy elsewhere and paid upfront - then Wise Driving phoned to say they hadn't cancelled after all, and were happy to keep insuring him. I said I wanted their policy cancelled as we couldn't have two running - they had the nerve to suggest we could cancel with the new company! They then kept all upfront costs paid out for breakdown and key cover. They justified this by saying if you cancel your policy, these don't get refunded (even though we had no choice but to cancel!). He only had 7 weeks insurance with them, but they kept the money for 12 months of breakdown and key cover. Be very wary of this company.”

“Couldn't agree more with the negative comments on this page. Insurance withdrawn because of a purposeful lack of/miss-communication on their part. It is a huge scam to get a £120 cancellation fee and charge extortionate prices for time on risk! They charged me a third of what I paid for the whole year, and I was covered by them for a pittiful 1 month and 3 weeks. Discusting attitude from the call centre staff. I even called and accidently picked up the frequency of a call between another customer and a staff member. The only good thing to comment is the guy who fitted the box, very helpful and even fixed my radio. 5* to radio fixing guy!!”

“This is the company that think it's ok to insure a first time driver then send someone out to fit box then diside they can't insure them because of alloy wheels but think they can charge you £240 for 3 weeks insurance lawyers letter is in the post see you in court”

“First few months my score was good. Now when i have few months left on my insurance to expire they keep sending me a email saying my driving is poor and has resulted in increasing my premium pay from £84 to £145/month which is ridiculous. Bunch of thieves.”

“they renewed my insurance at £85 a month a great price then my car broke down but I kept the insurance going. my car broke [ 8 day's into a month ] and then 3 months later the monthly payments had gone up to [ £250+ ] & they said I was driving poorly thru out the 3 months and calculated PLEASE READ ( PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING WITH THIS INSURANCE ) PLEASE READ”

“I wish had read previous reviews, I wouldn't have taken a policy with them. Wise driving is an absolute scam!!!!. Avoid it like a plague. They are thieves and nothing short of that. I'm looking into taking them to court or TV so the whole UK will know exactly what a scam they are. You're just evil in short!!”

“Not much you can say about Wise Driving except you'd be Wise not to use them they are the biggest bunch of cowboys I have ever had the misfortune to do business with. Bit the bullet and cancelled my sons insurance and went elsewhere after only 3 months, cost a lot for the 80 days he was with them but it's the best thing I ever did. Look around, you can get it cheaper and with a proper insurance company. Absolutely amazes me this company exists, wish I had read these reviews first, could have saved myself a lot of money. Am sending them a mask, Dick Turpin at least had the decency to wear one.”
