Site was good for comparing prices but it should give you the total price including all the add ons x

However, you may then be able to upgrade this cover when you go through to the insurers website which will likely cause the premium to increase. Go compare is good to compare the quotes. But it is not the cheapest you can find one should look other quotes to compare. I saved £30 comparing with other sources

Original price looked good. Not so happy when I clicked through to the insurer, to find the premium,even when I changed to paying annually instead of monthly, was still £30 more. £50 if I paid monthly.

I would like to use Gocompere for my van insurance, I find I cannot answer some of the Questions. I had a false claim put against my car which has been settled as a non fault. When your questionnaire asks who was driving it will not allow me to put nobody and how much did it cost nothing, because it was a false claim I and my car were not involved therefore if I do not answer these questions the insurance company assumes that I have not declared and charge nearly double the price for making ammendments

Got a cheaper offer from a competitor price comparison website. Also you can't add extras e.g legal on the quote until you go to the provider to find out the extra costs.

I think Gocompare did well and I wanted to take advantage of your Excess Cover £250 grant. Your site proposed Hastings Insurance which has a good offer. I was presented with two offers Hastings Essential and Hastings Direct. I chose Direct and worked to the end of the quote where I applied for two additional features. The Hastings website came back to me and offered a better deal with Hastings Premier which was attractive to me. I left the site and came back later to retrieve the Premier offer but couldn't find it at all with several different attempts. I tried to raise this with Hastings Chat but twice no respondent was available and I received website advice "Leave a message" but there was nowhere on their website where I could leave a message. Hence I abandoned GoCompare and Hastings and fixed insurance with my existing supplier. It's a shame because I found the Hastings offer superior.

How do you get your free excess cover if no policy number

You should receive your policy number along with your policy documents from your insurer. I tried to get insurance but I could not open site yesterday so got insurance from Autonet through my mobile. it was slightly more then quote on computer. so was a bit disappointed.

Insurance prices were not the best when compared with other comparison sites. Buying directly with the company saved me a lot of money.

Used this for my annual car renewal and whilst it is good I was annoyed by the fact that some of the quotes showed benefits but when going to insurers website they were not included. Also there were to many add on's once on insurers website. Suits some people but unfairly shown.
