I cancelled my subscription giving a weeks notice because I wasn't going to be at home. I then find that 3 days later and 4 days before the next order would arrive, that Gousto have charged me for another box £52.97. I immediately contacted the online chat and was told that because I had already picked recipes for the following week ( the week after I had already cancelled) that there was nothing they could do. With 4 days still to go before the order would be sent, I think it's more a case of nothing they WANT to do. If I had already cancelled my subscription, why on earth would I want another box . This is a totally underhand tactic by Gousto and you've just lost a customer because I will never resubscribe to a company that is so untrustworthy and unhelpful

To be honest the first couple of boxes were good and then it went to pieces, missing ingredients, delayed box, missing recipe cards, poor quality ingredients, sometimes a recipe called for a bayleaf and eleven were in the box same with garlic. Latest and final straw was leaky ice pack water everywhere in the box ruined ingredients and recipe cards totalled. No way of getting hold of customer services. Cancelled!

They cancelled my order without telling me. I have no food and no time to go to the shop. Customer service didn't care. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. I received my order from them last week. Not great. Bad instructions and badly packed.

Courier damaged my door and the won’t even refund the box, instead asking me to jump through hoops for them to contact the courier. This happened nearly exactly two years ago, and I ended up having to pay to fix the door and it was over a month of stress

Terrible service, food missing items and offered only partial refund to go buy missing items. Over 14 items missing. Not happy at all

I ordered a box on my existing account and was informed that 'the payment had failed please update the payment method'. I attempted to do so but it would not accept an update so I cancelled the account and opened a new one, placed the same order and paid. Today two boxes arrived containing the same meals. The unpaid order had been processed as well. I contacted customer services and explained the situation. Apparently it's my fault that their system sends out an order without a confirmed payment and I would have to pay for it. After much discussion I agreed to pay with a 50% discount purely to avoid the possibility of a bad credit report. I then cancelled my accounts and requested deletion all of data from their system. No. it doesn't automatically happen when you cancel. Something has gone wrong with Gousto, used to be great in the past but I see a lot of negative reviews now.

Had a terrible experience with customer service. It turned a relatively minor issue into a multi-stage effort to get resolved. The help centre on the website constantly reloads, stopping you from accessing any of the support channels. I originally tried to communicate the issue through the chat and email functions, but my messages were repeatedly ignored mid-chain, so I had to start the process up again. Even calling in, I had to go through a different phone line, because the recommended one disconnected constantly without warning while I was on hold. All this was due to a referral discount not applying properly when I signed up. Food was fine, but it feels like everything is set up to limit the ability to handle complaints.

The Worst Company I’ve Ever Dealt With – A Complete Scam I cancelled my subscription with Gousto, yet they still sent me a box I didn’t order and took the money straight from my account without permission. This is theft, plain and simple. The recipes were a total insult – nothing like what I would ever pick. Two of them contained ingredients that my family members are seriously allergic to, which could have put us in real danger. Another so-called “vegan” meal was revolting – it smelled so bad we couldn’t even try it. Absolutely disgusting. Their unauthorized charge caused us major financial problems, taking money we needed for basic essentials. And when I tried to get help, their customer service was a complete joke – no proper answers, no accountability, no common sense. Just silence and useless responses. This company is dishonest, careless, and dangerous. Please do yourself a favour and STAY FAR AWAY from Gousto. They do not care about customers, their health, or their livelihoods.

Gousto had been very good up until yesterday when for the first time they used Evri for my delivery, dispatch email noted a delivery time of between 8am and 7pm delivery was made at 20.52pm ice bags had melted and the raw meat was at 8.1c over the 5c it should have been. Gousto have ignored my emails about the problem and so I have closed my account

Cancelled my subscription in Feb only to be charged and sent a box at the start of July. Customer services were hopeless consistently saying I placed the order before then cancelling my subscription. No explanation as to how there was a 5 month break in the subscription. No attempt at looking into a fraudulent transaction. At most I was offered a 20% discount on the order. AVOID.

Received my first order and all seemed ok. However when I came to cook one meal I discovered the lasagne sheets were smashed and useless. Complained and given £2 off next order. Then following day went to cook another recipe and 2 packs of black beans not delivered. Again offered £2 off next order. Meanwhile I have twice been left with a choice of either substituting for another ingredient or jumping in the car to drive to the supermarket. Not happy and have cancelled my subscription.

Appalling customer service - phone line has constant problems - need to cancel order but no option to do so on the website - impossible to speak with anyone as line kept dropping out - a pity as the recipies are quite good - simply badly run on the business front - I've had enough....

Gousto receipes are very well thought out and absolutely delicious, although they do require quite a lot of prep. Unfortunately, they ask you to select your receipes for the following week within a strict timeframe. If you miss this, they will simply put a box together for you, paying no attention whatsoever to your previous preferences or medical needs. For instance, I have coeliac disease so ALL of my previous choices have been gluten free. However, when I missed the deadline for the next week, they filled my order with glutenous receipes and things I don’t like, making the box entirely useless to me. I guess they just give you the receipes that didn’t sell so well, which is why they were all so unappealing. I am going to have to give my next delivery box away and warn future customers about this outcome.

Only giving 1 star as can't give 0. Food delivered at nearly 10pm dumped on doorstep and left would have been out all night in the rain if we hadn't had video doorbell to alert us. Disgusting service for expensive product AVOID 😒

I placed my order and as I work in an office in the middle of nowhere which is where I needed the delivery I put in the delivery notes for it only to be delivered mon-fri 9am-5pm. Received a text on the day of delivery to say it would be between 6.15-8.15pm, called customer services, they couldn't change it, wouldn't refund me, absolutely useless. I cancelled the subscription but am out of pocket and have no meals for the rest of the week so now have to go shopping!! would never use them again!

The worst customer service I have ever received. I’ve used gousto for 4 years and have put up with the occasional wrong or poor quality ingredient but today they surpassed themselves . I would have had a better customer experience from an automated machine !

Awful. I cancelled my subscription yet they still took money from my account. The rice in all the boxes was awful. Way to much packaging
