“To California..
You guys burned you own state stop helping people who aren't victims!!! What about North Carolina, or Virginia that got hit worse!! California you did this to yourself!!! Help North Carolina first!!! California has money North Carolina doesn't. They are still struggling and no one cares.. well I do!!! North Carolina lost instruments too but what about them?? What about NORTH CAROLINA!!!!”
“Danvers, mass guitar center is by far the worst guitar center i have ever experienced. You leave your guitar there for mods or repair, their so called two week wait takes an entire month. And i know that they can do better because RI guitar center literally takes less then a week. Also you call them for questions or support they answer rude or keep you on hold until it hangs up when all you want is to pick something up. Ridiculous, its like they slack off so they don’t do customer service when that is the entirety of the job. Hate Danvers guitar center so much, they are infuriating.”
“Once again, I was scammed by this company and left holding the bag. This time, with a mesa amplifier. The item started malfunction ing right after the "return window". Shocker. It kept getting worse, guitar center refuses any connection to it, and refuses to address this issue in any way other than "should have paid hundreds for our pro coverage."
Avoid these people. Sweetwater always honors their deals, and always goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is taken care of. Go through them instead.
I have had guitar center close my account, and remove all data from their back end. Scammers till the end as per usual.”
“I never understood why do we keep buying anything from Guitar Center. Their merchandise is in very low quality, and their guitars look cheap even though their prices are up in the sky. Whatever you want to buy from Guitar Center, you can find it anywhere for way less. Moreover, the resale value of their guitars is zero, according to them.
10 months ago I bought a guitar from their Sherman Oaks store for nearly $500. I went there earlier today, I wanted to exchange the guitar for another one they have and I was willing to offer money on top. They offer to buy my guitar $75 !!! A guitar that I bought 10 mo ago, from the same store, for $500, and wanted to sell it back in the same condition I got it, they offered $75 for it. By that they told me "Do not buy anything from Guitar Center, you won't be able to sell it later". I didn't ask for $500 and I knew to expect way less than that. But $75 ???!!!....It happened to me a few times before at their store. Why will you buy anything from Guitar Center? No wonder they are bankrupt, we are suckers but only to a point !!!”
“Trying to support brick and mortar stores, I entered a guitar center, interested in a crash symbol and noise canceling headphones.. the symbol I wanted was the one on display, so very used and no box, headphones I wanted we're not in stock,.. I was told that if I would order them directly from the store and have them shipped to my house that I would get a new symbol and a box and there would be no shipping. The following Monday I got an email that my headphone order had been cancel because they did not have them in stock. 4 days later I received a symbol a much smaller symbol a $50 symbol I had to ordered $130 symbol, another display symbol wrapped in bubble wrap..after I had paid cash for all of my purchases inside the store.. I'm told on the phone that I have to return the symbol that I did not order before I can receive a refund or my original symbol be shipped to me.. a complete fiasco.. very very disappointed. Will never enter a store, or order anything from them ever again...”
“Avoid like the plague..will never buy anything from them ever again. Selling used guitars as new..multiple times keep giving them a chance..I remember when they were a good company”
“I would have continued lessons but was treated rudely by the scheduler in Danvers, MA. Even if I wasn't a customer, I can't imagine being condescended to and spoken to in a snarky way, especially just for asking a follow-up question (I asked if he had the chance to find a time for a lesson that he told us previously he'd have to figure out the scheduling for). Unfortunate. Really didn't have to happen.”
“If you want a less than great experience, order something online from guitar center! We ordered a Christmas gift for our son back on 12/19/21 with a 12/22 expected deliver date, which never arrived. Guitar Center is taking no responsibility and are now passing the buck to UPS after it has been under investigation for 10 days. Still no resolution 20 days after the initial order. At this point, I just want my order, but calling customer service, talking to them through messenger and email has got us nothing but lip service. I will never buy anything from this company again. We'll likely need to do charge back with the credit card company and reorder through Amazon, which we should have done in the first place!
Update 1/14 - Well for those who have seen my previous posts we are still fighting with Guitar Center on an order we placed before Christmas! After 10 days of not receiving it they told us was an a UPS issue and would need to investigate, but would it take up to 10 business day. 10 business days came and went and I PM'd them to which they gave me an 800 number and said to call and they would resend the order. My wife then called and spoke to someone who said they would need to investigate further but would have it resolved by today 1/14. Well, as you can imagine, she called today and surprisingly they still haven't figured it out and can't send a replacement until a "supervisor" looks at it. If you've read my previous post you'll noticed that I asked to speak to a supervisor nearly 3 weeks ago and was denied. These people are playing games! Don't spend your money at this place! They are completely incompetent. Spend the extra $20 and buy from Amazon or Sweetwater where you'll be taken care of. This is the last time I ever do business with Guitar Center.”
“I bought some headphones very expensive, after purchasing I received an email " Call us to complete your order"
Apparently, I need to send a screenshot of my bank account and a code, wtf?
Also, I paid 30 dollars more to receive the item tomorrow and for this, I won't be able to receive it on time. and they don't want to give me a refund!!!!”
“Avoid online ordering at all costs. I ordered a Christmas gift. Paid for 2 day shipping. The order was cancelled without notice. But not before they took the money from my account. I ended up buying the item on Amazon so my son wouldn't be disappointed on Christmas morning. It's Christmas Eve and I still haven't gotten my refund or heard back from them.”
“I visited the store in Seven Corners on May 10, 2020, shortly before 1:00 pm. There was a staff member monitoring the front door, and he informed me that I could not enter the store until another customer departed. I acknowledged and waited outside the store. When two customers exited shortly thereafter, I was allowed to enter the store. However, before letting me through, the staff member asked me what type of guitar I was purchasing today, as I had mentioned in our earlier conversation that I wanted to look at some classical guitars. I indicated that I wanted to browse and try a few out. He then said that I would only be allowed to enter the store if I was going to buy a guitar. I then asked what would happen if I could not find any guitar that I liked, and he responded that I would have to order one. At that point, I left. If, in fact, this is the store’s policy, I shall never shop at Guitar Center again, including their online website. While I understand the adjustments that must occur due to this national emergency, I cannot condone a store policy that mandates a purchase, even if a suitable product has not been found (nor tested, in the case of a required order). If this is the approach of Guitar Center, I would rather go farther and pay more than enter one of their stores again. I would have accepted a browsing time limit in order to accommodate the limited number of customers allowed in the store. I wrote this review on their website on May 10, 2020, to give them an opportunity to respond or clarify, but I have not heard from them as of today, May 13, 2020.”
