Scam, absolutely con... the claims line person didn't offer their name and was exceptionally rude from the outset, their name was Ethan. He needs to learn some basic customer service skills, this warranty is a cash cow for the dodgy sellers

GEARBOX ISSUE, took garage time to collect my car, and time to dismantle for a full report. It is not a small work and it took the garage over 30days to done all of it and this brilliant warrantly company didnt care because they can claim it is over 30days since i reported the issue and they will start the count down rightaway, like i have own my own garage and be able to control how they work. paid the gold package and i got this reply is 100% a scam. 'Please refer to the claims logged email that you received on 16/01/24 which does state that from when a claim is logged you would have 30 days to provide all of the requested information to proceed with a successful claim. The claims process is the same for every customer and does need to be followed. Based on the information provided and as the claims process was not followed this claims decision has been upheld and this claim is declined.'

Refused to cover. Refused to cancel policy. I had an issue with a sensor in the ABS Module. Handler Protect claimed they don't cover the module (this is a sub-part of the ABS Controller, which they do cover)

I bought a car from a company that required nearly £2000 worth of work in the first eight weeks of my owning it, the company had given me a two-year gold handler protect warranty with the car and as such I felt relatively safe buying a vehicle from a company 200 miles from my home BUT do not be fooled by the word warranty. It covers virtually nothing as far as Handler Protect are concerned as they decline virtually everything stating it is due to age or normal wear and tear, they should not be allowed to use the word “warranty “ when you buy something with a warranty it means if it goes wrong, it gets repaired under warranty. I.E. The car is warranted as good for two years but everything is reviewed by the in-house computer mechanics, and almost always declined. when I informed the receptionist at the garage that my repairs would be going through handler protect, she rolled her eyes and said “good luck with that and she looked at the records on her computer and said we have tried 27 times to claim for customers through handler protect and they haven’t paid out once! “ I eventually resorted to going back to the dealer and complaining that the warranty was not worth the paper. It was written on who then got in touch with handler, protect and agreed to make it a dealer claim (whatever that is) the net result was that out of a total of nearly £2000 of work that was required on the car which included things like a leaking fuel pipe, leaking injectors, failed o/s wheel bearing, failed suspension arm and bushes, failed lower link and bushes , failed actuator on central locking system (resulting in the alarm going off all the while) failed motor in the sunroof and various other bits and pieces ( and incidentally, this was a car that had passed the MOT the day before I bought it!) I was eventually reimbursed to the tune of £438 only then after much harassment of the dealer I purchased it from and even then it took me four weeks to get that The best advice I can give is keep your money in your pocket, because you cannot rely on this company to honour anything that their warranty claims to cover. You are, of course, allowed to appeal against the decision to decline your claim, but guess who deals with the appeal process! Yes, you’ve got it it’s dealt with by Handler Protect, as I said, right at the start, give this company a very wide berth and don’t for one second think that you’re getting a two year warranty on your car.

we have been using handler for our customer vehicles which have been sold by us I had a claim for one of our customers that was straightforward, I'm glad I did because the experience was far below our standards the process was slow and overly complicated the end result was a rejected claim and a very rude aggressive manager. needless to say, we will continue to use Autogard warranties. lesson learned stick with who you know you can trust

Had my car 3 months, started making rattling sound. Took it to a garage to diagnose the problem. The qualified mechanic informed me that the it's a gearbox/clutch issue. I thanked him and then reported it to Handler Protect. They got back to me quite quickly to be fair and asked for 4 pieces of information in order to process the claim. 1. A description of the problem, from the mechanic, on headed paper. 2. A quote from the garage, again on headed paper. 3. Proof of Service and MOT. 4. Current mileage. All reasonable requests, which I duly provided, promptly. Received a reply a day later asking - 1. A Definitive Diagnosis as to how parts failed 2. A definitive Quotation for the repair 3. Detailed diagnoses of "Why Part Failed" 4. Pictures of Failed Part Ok, some more hoops to jump through. Point 2, already covered in previous email. Points 1, 3 and 4 is pretty hard to prove without taking the gearbox and clutch apart. Apparently the word of a qualified, well respected mechanic is not trusted. I go on to explain how hard it is to get points 1, 3 and 4, as I don't have the money to pay a mechanic to take my car apart to, just to tell them what he already told them and to take a picture. Plus, I explain how a garage won't hold my car in pieces on their premises while claims try to think of more ways to word the first 4 points, I order to drag this claim out. Also, how my job requires me to commute to work and how I cannot be without a car, while I provide for my family, with no assurances that the work will be covered once I proceed with the hoop jumping. I can't believe the stress and anguish all this has put me and my family through. Warranty claims are not one size fits all. It's different for someone with wealth to follow all the points requested, but someone, like me, with little money, trying to complete the impossible, pointless tasks, is really difficult. This company doesn't seem to possess any humanity or treat claims on a case by case basis. My life is ruined and I am having to continue drive a car that is potentially dangerous, putting my life at risk because I have no other options. Warranties are there for peace of mind, when such things occur, but when they never have any intention of paying out, I wonder what the point is.

Terrible experience with Handler protect!! An aggressive Irish man told us we were stupid. They declined our claim - The issue was on a life time component of which they said it was down to being driven? Clearly that’s the purpose of a car. They have so many bad reviews. Dealers avoid unless you want a massive headache.

Astonishing Company - DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE USING! Handler Protect are resisting paying out when they clearly should be. If you are a car dealer, my best advice would be to do extensive due diligence before using this company. If you are buying a car, I would strongly advise to be very careful buying a car from a car dealer that use Handler as a warranty company, their ‘warranty’ has yielded no benefit at all in my case. The alternator on my Audi SQ7 car has failed. The car is only 5 years old, has covered around 40,000m and has a full service history, without any known previous claims. It’s taken around three weeks of headache and arguing with Handler from the initial point of contact with this company to actually receiving an email rejecting the claim, even though their independent engineer told the garage where the car has been that he could hear the bearings had gone in the component and it would be dangerous to drive the car. The car has now been off the road for well over two weeks. It is worse than appalling. Their website claims that this component is one of their top paid-out claims with the same manufacturer - but on cars double the age with double the mileage of ours (!!), yet this “failed claim” states that it’s rejecting the claim ‘due to the age of the component/vehicle’. When I called the company today and spoke to one of their people there, he was rude, arrogant and extremely unhelpful. This is the second time I have experienced this with them, although I believe it may have been the same guy with whom I spoke on both occasions. As a business owner, I am genuinely shocked at how dreadfully poor these guys have been in this instance. There is absolutely no doubt that the component in question has failed, suddenly or otherwise), yet they are disputing that it’s failed. I am now going to test this in Court as I feel like I should now be a crusader to stop these companies taking money off of and doing this to people who are not so fortunate as I am. I will revert but I intend to throw the kitchen sink at this to get the correct result for all.

This is another example of a warranty not worth the paper it's written on. They will make you provide every conceivable piece of paperwork and proofs, and quibble every conceivable thing they can in order to make the process as difficult as possible. Also don't expect to actually be able to use your car for a week whilst you wait for their reply. (you can't start any remedial work until they have given you their decision) and then they will decline it anyway. What an absolute joke

Useless and heartless company. I bought a second hand car in off auto-trader garage. The car came with 4 months warranty with Handler protect. After 3 months of having the car, I started to notice faulty with the car (it gave me warning lights on dashboard). I submitted a claim, but after a fee days, the car stop giving warning lights and run as normal. I put the car into diagnostic anyways but the garage couldn’t find anything. And so I wasn’t given any quote for labour, diagnostic report etc. Two weeks later, the car gave another exactly the same warning light. But I can only got a diagnostic slot 5 days after the faulty occured. This slot was only 3 days after the warranty cover expired. So I called handler and explained my situation. But all they say was “you don’t have policy with us”. My car repair cost is very expensive so I have to scrap it. If they genuinely aimed to protect buyer and seller, then what’s the deal with 3 days after warranty expired? And I already let them know 1 month before warranty expires that something is wrong with the car. Do not use. Useless scammer scum! Their aim is nothing but to gain money from us. They will reject any claims as best as they can.
