“When I was there, at the Duluth Hwy location I got interrogated about my return by the cashier Kayla however, I noticed the man next to me didn’t get questioned at all, he was doing a return as well. Certain staff need to do better on there customer service skills. Very unprofessional Customer service like another review, said could be a race thing.”

“It's been awhile since I shopped in my local store. I felt that they don't want my kind in the store. They were very friendly with the other people in the store, laughing and joking around. I waited patiently in line for about 8 minutes, when it was my turn, I didn't get greeted, no eye contact and no thank you after the sale was done. I went back a month later and still same response. It's been awhile since I shopped so I decided to go there today and when I went in I saw 2 sales people standing at 2 register talking. I wasn't greeted and the stares I received made me want to walk. So everywhere I went today I asked People of Color about Their experience shopping at Harbor Freight and they said the same thing. They were treated like they didn't belong there. A few Men of color said they tried to apply for a job there and was told that they were not hiring. But why do they have a sign in the window saying they are hiring. I'm unsubscribing from Their email and text. I WILL NOT be doing business with them anymore. EVER!!!!”

“I have basically stopped buying tools from them I needed a ball joint separator their cost $89 on line Amazon $41 and that is why I don’t shop very often there anymore I got basically same kit for half the cost. (I have no problem waiting 2days for it at that price ). Everything they sell has doubled in cost I under inflation but it has not gone up that much everyone is jacking prices up. Sorry harbor freight but you were a great place to shop at one time. And I think the bargains you had are gone now I spend a few dollars more and I get a lot better longevity on power tools”

“Bought a 212 cc predator pump, March 2021. Used very little. The engine is junk now. Buyer beware, unless you have 200 dollars to burn. Thought it was carb., it’s the engine, that’s bad. Ordered carb, to find out ,it’s on backorder, 12 weeks, if then. Cancelled the order. The predator is junk, I even bought a newer one, 300 , now. Until I could fix the old one. What a mistake. You live and learn. I’m 71. Things aren’t like they were 30 years ago. Only business that steal from the consumer, are surviving. I buy what I can on social security, health reasons caused me to leave the work force early, just to have my money stolen after bad purchases. The old saying, you get what you pay for.”

“I paid for a 4 gallon oil free fortress air compressor for framing. The manager swore up and down this would compete with metabo Tank. Well. I've used it for one day and I can't even shoot 6 nails that can sink. I called them and they are Still taking 20% restock fee even though they Misslead me into a bad purchase. Do NOT buy anything from harbor freight”

“I was to receive a 225 piece tool set back in November and still have not received it. Comp[any will not respond to calls or emails. I think the company is trying to scam me. Be very wary of this company.”

“Horrible customer service. It takes weeks to get any kind of a response. I finally received my gift card via email only to have them cancel after I gave it as a gift! Worst experience! I will never buy anything from this company!”

“In Nov. of 2020 I purchased a Viking lithium battery car jumper and charged it as the instructions stated. It stayed in the car until last month when I needed it. It would not work at all! I then charged it (it had lost all charge in less than a month). I tried to return it but discovered that I was out of luck because 90 days had long gone. The store would do nothing at all except say I'm sorry. I would have accepted a lot less than I paid in store credit. DO NOT BUY A VIKING PRODUCT!!!”

“Bought a generator it didn’t work 2 hours after purchase took it back manger wouldn’t replace, charged me 160.00 restock fee.i called corporate and got no where. No more gift cards or purchases from these guys unless they contact me and replace my generator, tell all buyers beware!!”

“I was at harbor freight 2931 West shore drive Holland Michigan and a elderly woman with blonde hair gave me a wicked look as soon as I entered the store. Then she was standing around check out with Olivia the girl that rang me up and neither one greeted me said thank you or anything..... although they were whispering to each other....so I will NEVER shop at this store again!!”

“This specific location is hiring. Do NOT apply, don't waste your time and energy even thinking about it. They offer you big bucks so they (Elle) can abuse you. This job will effect your home life no matter how you approach your ethics. They (elle) gets satisfaction in bullying grown people. They(Elle) like to create tasks in their job description in order to set her employees up for failure. She carries an attitude problem daily that she projects onto her employees and customers. She causes too much unnecessary drama that mentality unstablizes her employees. She will pick a fight with you even when there's nothing wrong. She does not protect her employees from sexual harrasment or aggressive customers. Truly not worth the medical help you'll need while working here. I promise you will absolutely be taken advantage of just like every single current employee is now. Be safe, and choose wisely.”

“THEY GOT ME!!!! Beware of their "policies"! They aren't there for the best interest of the customer! I've been a prepaid customer of Harbor Freight in Muskegon for years! Done thousands of dollars of business! I bought a 9500 watt generator (around $2,200). I was told when buying it that it would work at my house. My electrician then had a heart attack and couldn't install it to my electrical system for months. Once he was able he came then told me this will not work for my house because I had a well and pump. It wasn't big enough! This Generator was never used, no tags or brochures or stickers were ever removed from it. It is just as it was the dsy i bought it! It never had any gas put in it and never even tried to start it! It was new and never used. I also bought their warranty! (the warranty didn't however cover any bad business practices by Harbor freight)! I tried to exchange it for a bigger one but they didn't have anything and couldn't order anything! I had no choice but to return it and to their liking! It was barely out of the box! They charged me $440.00 for a restocking fee and took kept the warranty that I bought. They said "sorry it our policy"! A policy designed to rip off customers, imo! They had this on the floor when I bought it. It was not ordered in for me. Im sure their cost was less when they originally bought it for their inventory. They will undoubtedly put it on the floor and sell it for today's price as brand new! I feel like I was ripped off and it really bothers me, especially when I think of all the business I did with them! Now, I know who they are and I see how they operate! They are not on your side and seem to care about only the $ (and their "policy that they quickly hide behind") then the customer and doing what's right! I would suggest doing business somewhere else where they respect their customers and appreciate the business you give them! This is just wrong! This "policy" should be illegal! Don't get caught up with the apparent crooks at Harbor freight! Go somewhere else!! Just look at the other reviews, that should tell all! Most complain about the poor service. Actually, Had no prior issues with Harbor freight other than I had to return items that broke or didn't hold up! Only the big ticket items they'll fight you on apparently! I've been a business owner for over 40 years! I can't believe they did this to me! It won't ever happen again!”

“I am a life long loyal customer if harbor freight tools along with most of my family and friends and I've always had great customer service and help when I needed questions answered and no hassles when having to return a faulty item for a new replacement. I typically don't purchase an extended warranty unless the item is a big ticket item and there has only been a few over the year's. I purchased one of the 7X10" mini metal lathes a couple years back and paid a lot for it so I opted for the extended warranty. I now have a non working mini lathe that's no better than a paper weight without the replacement part's. I was under the impression that everytime a made a purchase and gave the clerk my phone number that it would be as good as any proof of purchase receipt. Now that I actually need to use my warranty for replacement parts Harbor Freight can't seem to find my warranty. I paid a good bit of money to have that protection for what? I feel cheated and ripped off. They have lost a life long customer and many other's i know will not give them their business . I hate to sound so negative, but I feel very let down by them.”

“Worst service and employees next to Walmart, ask them 'are you aware of the company scam through email', most will say No. if you use CC of any kine you will be scammed, your email will be hacked and HF will not acknowledge. I tried using cash, and It's just as bad, they pretend it doesn't exist. I call corporate and none seems to be aware, HF full of BS.”

“Reading through some of these reviews, I see that I'm not the only one who got clipped for a 20% RESTOCKING FEE for a pressure washer with a defective design, that was falsely advertised. AVOID THIS SLEAZY COMPANY!!!”
