I think it is criminal to charge a 20% $42 in my case, restocking fee on an electronic device that is 1 day old and never used. I won't say never but probably won't shop there again.

Beware of bad customer service. I called them a couple of times and waited on hold forever, so I chose the call me when it's my turn option. They never call back. I tried it a couple of times, but the same thing.

I've never had an issue with Harbor Freight until today. Less than a week ago I purchased a chainsaw. I didn't need it as my reciprocating saw did the job. I never even opened the box so it was exactly as it was when I left the store down to the zip tie on the saw blade plastic cover. It had an opening on the box to carry it with and the cashier implied something was missing from that opening. Like what???? My hand??? Maybe it was just that employee or location but it appears they're not overly happy when you return something. Lost me as a customer @ that store.

Bought one of your electric pressure washers, $200 used it twice. The housing where you connect The water hose broke very easily, f*** tried several ways to fix it can't be fixed.

Purchased a rotary hammer chipping tool and was told there is a restocking fee, however the cashier never stated it is 20%. The tool I purchased was $229.00 and the fee was $46.00 for an hour of use. Their hammer products do not compare to Bosch or Milwaukee products. I called to dispute the excessive charge, however it is in the very, very fine print on the reverse side of the receipt. BEWARE! The old adage applies, you get what you pay for! An expensive lesson not to take a chance on a cheap tool!

Looked good on the internet, maybe I should have waited to go there and find out they did not have the banks framing nailer I wanted. I decided to look at the vacuum cleaners and guess what, they did not have the 3 gallon bauer one I wanted. Asked the clerk, kinda rude and he said if not on the shelf then we are out. Not sure if that was true with him not even looking at me when he said it. I will go to home depot, they at least stock what the preach.

No flexibility on return policy. Purchased most expensive Bauer electric power washer last summer and used once. Tried to use this year and quit after 5 minutes. Went through all trouble shooting. Spoke with local store manager who told me I had no recourse since I didn't purchase a warranty plan. She offered no further solutions. I will take my unit to a repair shop and will no longer purchase anything from Harbor Freight.

I have been buying at harbor freight for many years. Usually I am happy with what I get. Recently I purchased a 20 gallon air compressor. It works great if the temperature is over 80, otherwise it will not start. It powers my air tools just fine. My problem is when I need it most is when it's cooler. Do not buy the McGraw compressor. Go for the Hercules.

Ordered a replacement tent online for my barn. It wasn't the proper dimensions. So I took it to the Los Lunas location to return it. The box had not been opened I had the email receipt on my phone. The female manager told me she would not take my return because that particular store did not stock that item. She was unbearably rude. She refused to look up the item, view my receipt and treated me like I was a nuisance. I was so appalled I took my Harbor Freight Credit Card out and asked for a pair of scissors. Suddenly another employee came over and inquired about the problem. I reiterated to her I wanted to return the tent. Her response was "no problem". She concluded the return and I left the store stunned by the whole experience. That very day I paid off my card balance and chopped my card into pieces.

Harbor Freight advertises how they have quality products and tools. I find the quality of there products are low end and they are only interested in extended warranties. I purchased a Viking compact power pack for jump starting my car. The unit is a joke! The unit never held a charge. The lithium battery is garbage. I kept charging it and when. I needed, it was dead as a door nail. I purchased a second unit and the same mode happened and when I just brought it to the store, they said warranty is 90 days and since I did not take out extended warranty I could buy the new model. What good is a unit that cannot last with a lithium battery. I have bought a number of brands of high end tools, my experience is Harbor Freight tools are low end junk

I bought a 4375 predator geni in February 2023. I hate to say this b/c of the value price should rise as a result. I ran that geni everyday until April of 2025. Everyday not one day missed. I only took it back b/c something broke I couldn't fix without a mechanic which the warranty covered. I changed the oil every month. Broke the pull strong once. Had to do a tune up twice. That's all. I might be a lucky customer but I give em a 5 out of 5 for dependability, warranty , and service with no hassle. Great place gone there for over 20 years and enjoy it everytime I'm there. It's like the toy store for adults. Thanks harbor freight

Won't stop sending emails. I tried to unsubscribe but it puts me to another application to receive even MORE "promotions". I emailed them and told them to stop the emails and they escalated them! Email harassment and stalking.

Yesterday I was in my garage cleaning up. As I looked through shelves I saw a non functional nailer, several volt meters, solar motion light, flat tire, drill, etc. They broke after brief use. I called their customer service and asked if I could bring them back and exchange for a gift card to spend at their store. Response was a resounding NO. Their items are made very cheaply and if I buy, I use coupons.

I have been a harbor Freight shopper for years. It is where we buy our tools. I also love the lights they sale for outside, like the dragonfly solar lights and are at a good price.

We’ve been using Harbor Freight tools and equipment at the shop for quite some time. Their air impacts (4 currently in service), the premium top tier jacks(7 currently in service,1 has failed) and hand held cordless tools(12 currently in service) have impressed me with their power, durability, reliability and price. The impact tools and cordless tools have a 90 day warranty and you can purchase additional warranty at time of purchase. No issue here, it’s all up front, plain as day. Meanwhile the Dayton premium quality jack has a 3 year warranty. It’s in the owners manual and printed information. I’d swear I’ve turned one in once during the warranty period and had it replaced with on issue. UNTIL THIS MORNING. I took one that no longer works for replacement. Oh no, direct replacement at the store is only covered for 90 days, after that it’s a manufacturer warranty and you must deal directly with their office in CA. I can imagine how that’s going to work out.
