My complaint is about HF employees. The manager Juan and assistant manager Dawn are causing problems. Apparent other employees are complaining that Juan has the hots for his assistant Manager Dawn, and when they aren't working together, Juan stays in a bad mood. Dawn is about half of Juan's age. And Dawn is engaged to another guy. Trouble is brewing. Dawn is excessively flirty and her fiancee has come in the store before raising hell about her flirting with her employees. Either her or Juan need to be transferred to a different store. They also play employee favorites and only their favorites get promoted. They fire good employees and promote their favorites. A supervisor told me that Harbor Freight doesn't care about employee reviews. He said our reviews don't affect them at all. I always thought reviews could make or break a business. There are regular pot smoking employees working there. A supervisor, full timer and a part timer. I highly suggest HR do some drug testing. I will continue to post about the terrible things at the LaGrange store until I know these issues have been taken care of. Customers deserve a better store

Bought a 2500w generator for work emergency, took it to job site and it would not run. Called tech support, tried everything they suggested without success. They told me to take it back to the store. When I returned it all the other boxes were sealed up like they were returns. When I decided to just get a better brand elsewhere, I was charged a restocking fee of 127.00. Called customer service and was just repeatedly told of their policy to get exchange or store credit (if I could prove I was told to just return not exchange). I explained that would make sense if nothing was wrong with the product. However after repeating myself multiple times to numerous “customer service” representatives I said forget and I will never use HF again and will discourage everyone I know professionally (in construction) and personally Too many options to buy quality products from companies that appreciate loyal customers!

Their website sucks. Trying to find a price on the tools to remove and install the clutch on auto a/c. No listing no matter what terms used. I bought one before and it was satisfactory but right now amv600 miles away from it and need to buy another. Guess l will just have to go to the store. Not a big deal but no excuse these days to not be able to look it up

I’d like to send out a huge thank you to the manger at harbor freight in rice lake Wisconsin he went above and beyond to help me. I bought a 2400 psi pressure washer over 2yrs ago now nothing was wrong with the machine at all the only problem was the wand broke well you guys don’t sell the wand it self and no longer make my machine plus my warranty was up back in July of 2025 so Nick paid me for what I originally paid for my unit and gave me the closest unit to my old one all I had to do was purchase a warranty on the new unit which was no problem. I’m very pleased on how well I was taken care of. Again thank you

Don't buy anything here that you might possibly have to return because they'll charge you a huge stocking fee even if you have a receipt paid it with a card that they can track doesn't matter I returned a $30 thing I had to pay $7 for restocking and I had every receipt possible it's crazy not to mention it's pretty cheap stuff

Bought a power washer that didn't work. Tech support said to add twice as much oil as manual said , Still wouldn't work Took oil out to right levels gassed up properly Wouldn't start. Tech support said return and no restocking fee as it was defective. Harboutr freight refused to take back without charging $90 restocking fee ! So Im out $90 for buying a defective item. Do not purchase from them

Manager was absolutely rude to my 82 year old mother-in-law over an issue he could have but refused to resolve. He claimed Corporate would back his decision. If this is true, shop with this Company at your own risk.

Had to replace hand truck tires three (3) times in four years. First tires rotted, second set rotted after falling apart from the hub, third set were solid puncture proof but just fell apart at the hub because the metal attaching to the hub is thin.

Ordering from harbor freight online, and receiving my merchandise takes forever in a day, I will never order online again. Also the reason why harbor freight's tools are so cheap is because they are garbage, I am a high precision machinist, and I bought some of their tools, and sent them to have them calibrated because I cannot use uncalibrated gauges in my trade. And they said harbor freight tools are junk

Bought "run flat" dolly replacement wheel for a dolly I had previously purchased there. Hub assembly literally came apart after a few uses. Took back for a replacement. Replacement wheel did same thing after second use. Hubs are not even tack welded together, wheels super thin cheap metal. Very dangerous on a load bearing item like a dolly. Took back second wheel, cashier yawned in my face, repeatedly asked for my phone #, five times. Oh, I need a receipt she said. I bought many items from them. She pulled up the transaction record. But miraculously couldn't find that wheel on there. I'm done w them. Cheap junk, pathetic customer service. Erie, Pennsylvania branch. You suck.

Shopping the store with family and went to look at an angle grinder on sale. As I pulled it off the shelf down low, the box was opened and everything fell out onto the ground. Despite it not being my fault it fell to the ground, I picked everything back up and set it on the shelf so that it was obvious the box was opened. I grabbed a brand new one and took a look at it to decide if I wanted to purchase and then to find out what accessories I needed to go with it. When we got to the checkout, the store manager or that is what her tag said was behind the cashier and said to give us the one we opened and had taped it up. When we explained that it was opened and fell out and she was lucky we even picked it up, she rolled her eyes and said sure. They kept everything we had gone there to buy and lost out on the 1800 generator I was going to buy this weekend. Go look at the cameras and verify your facts before you accuse a customer of something! Will never buy from Harbor Freight unless that person is fired!

The product that i purchased was defected, but i had purchased a 2 year warranty They replaced the product but at that time i had to purchase another 2 year warranty because the warranty is only good for one time use so its not really a two year warranty its a one and done. Never buy at Harbor Freight again

As with many of these reviews, mine is mixed. Yesterday was the first and last time I’ll buy a power tool there. Was defective from the start. When I returned it the next day they tried to play the restocking fee card. I wasn’t having any of it. They eventually gave a full refund. The restocking fee should be considered as a warning. They don’t even have enough faith in there products to stand behind them so try to compensate with a restocking fee.

We bought a drywall screw drill that broke after just a couple sheets of drywall so we took it back for a refund. They took $10 for a restocking fee for a broken pos tool. I'm done buying from harbor freight. I would have given it minus 10 stars if that was an option.

For some reason their computers can’t update their back stock. So traveled about an hour to the store in Jamestown Ny area for a product the sales associates claimed to have. No they only carry 1 but their computers claimed they have 3. Worse part is they were not willing to sell the display model. Shame on them and shame on the company for lack of product control. Your system should automatically update when a product is sold. Your management team suppose to do a check on the products they carry to make sure the in store stock count is the same as the computer.

Bought a compression testing kit. When using only read 30 lbs on boat cylinders. Knew that could not be right so borrowed father in laws penske compression tester and read 115 lbs. i took this back and wanted to charge a 9 dollar restocking fee . The item does not work and not going to buy another and drive 30 minutes to take back again. The item was defective how the hell you gonna charge a restocking fee. This place sucks and poor customer service.
