very informative, thoroughly enjoyed receiving the training. although, the equipment that was being used, for example, shive and keystone, I had to look up what they were to understand how they were being used. Therefore, equipment like that should be explained within the training so there is not any added information that I need to look up.

I did learn some new things through taking the course: the recommended colours for chopping boards, that some people are allergic to celery and lupin seed, and various holding temperatures for hot and cold food etc. It definitely brought home the potential dangers in terms of both food poisoning and anaphylaxis. However, I think there was sometimes too much emphasis on terminology. I didn't feel the need to be able to name the six stages of dishwashing for example and I still can't see a clear distinction between antibacterials and disinfectants (when both target bacteria). In terms of the course structure, it's great that the text is read out as well as available to read, and at different speeds. There are videos, additional material, and it's broken down into manageable chunks. I had intended doing a module per week but was advised to complete sooner and I can see why. It's a lot of information to hold so best done over a shorter time period than I'd planned. Thanks, Rose

Good course content but some of the answers on the assessment could have multiple answers, also recording of figures is important in some sets of minutes.

Overall, the course was very good. However, there were a few ambiguous / incorrect sections. One of the tests had a question that showed pictures of fire signs. The correct answer appeared to me to have been a sign placed on a window blind? Another picture has a sign that was apparently placed on a door. It was not clear to me that it was a door. It could have been fixed wooden panel and therefore correct. Another question asks about the fire protection time allowed for fire doors and protected areas etc. Your answer was 60 minutes. However, in your earlier text it says from 30 to 60 minutes or even longer in certain situations. Perhaps I misread the question?? Finally, in some parts of the course it says your priority is to evacuate the building. Yet another section says try and put the fire out if you have been trained to do so. Well, which is it? These two messages appear to me to be in direct contradiction with each other. You could say something like: “Your priority is to evacuate the building unless you have been trained to put out the fire and it is safe to do so” Overall, it was a very thorough course and I would recommend it to other work colleagues.
