“We stayed at The Woodlands (Folkton stable cottages) in Scarborough. We arrived to an over flowing bin and an outdoor table which needs a scrub. The decking area to the side also needs a sort. When we got in, a musty/dirty smell hit us, not a clean smell which most people would expect. There was dirt/cob webs on the ceiling, up the walls, grime over the taps. There was a section on the wall which has dead flys stuck to whatever was on the wall. The mirrors need replacing, as do the mattresses. One mattresses is that old it has bobbles all over it, which you could feel through the sheet. The cupboards and draws need cleaning. The stains on the carpets need cleaning. The kettle has a brown ring around it. I went to hoover and even that was filthy and needs taking apart and cleaning. I could really go on. The whole place needs a VERY deep clean and some TLC. We were booked for 3 nights, We left after the first. The company who rent this out contacted me and said they would of re cleaned. We arrived at 4pm, my kids go to bed at 7pm and we needed tea. There was no way that place would be able to be cleaned in that space of time. Also the mattresses wouldn’t be able to be replaced. So, my advice. Avoid this place until it’s had a revamp.”

“We were very happy with the communication of host n stay. If anything, too many emails so a little repetitive but they do answer any queries that you may have so that was a plus. Overall good experience. They give you plenty of info on the accommodation and surrounding area. We stayed at Mindello apartments in Whitby.”

“The booking process was easy and thorough from start to finish. We booked this with host and stay last minute due to our previously booked accommodation letting us down. We were blown away with the cleanliness of the apartment and how homely yet posh it felt. Can't wait to stay again”

“We have just had a lovely 2 night stay at Nellie's loft Scarborough would definitely recommend, fantastic location. Clean, well maintained, equipped with everything you would need like hairdryer etc. Decorated to a high standard. Great communication between us and host and stay by emails on all information needed during our stay.”

“This apartment did not disappoint. Just on the edge of the Peak District it served us well as we were visiting friends nearby too . Very clean , easy parking and well equipped. Would recommend”

“Good price and instructions re directions, parking and accessing the cottage were perfect, the host kept in touch at appropriate intervals. Sadly the sink in the bedroom was not fit for purpose as it was a tiny vanity basin with a glass shelf over rendering it virtually impossible to wash and clean your teeth. Certainly not fit for a family of four! Consequently we had to wash in the kitchen sink.”

“The house was a perfect fit for my family a 5. It provided us with a great "home base" to tour North Yorkshire. We could walk easily to the seashore and restaurants. The rooms were a nice size, and the beds comfortable.”

“A beautiful accommodation, well equipped. All rooms were stunning. Felt like we were in a 5 star hotel with an affordable price. My family wanted to stay there forever. Lots of amenities close by, lovely south bay beach and north bay beach, close to water park. We had an amazing stay and we would like to back again. Great customer service. Thanks to the team.”

“The house was beautiful, very clean and well equipped. The beds were amazingly comfortable. A couple of minute drive to Cayton Bay beach and 15 minutes to Scarborough. Our 2 grandsons wanted to live there forever!! We will definitely be back.”

“Lovely a comodation for multi generation holiday. Property was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Information about the booking supplied by email, perhaps a tad too often sent the same email but that’s a minor gripe once I realised did not have to reply.”

“Nice apartment, but lots of stairs. Would have been nice to have instructions for washing machine and cooker. Nice and close to everything. Would stay again if not so many stairs.”

“Great location, easy to find, amenities close by. Lovely clean, nicely decorated property. Comfortable and easy access etc. Could do with a bathroom update but would definitely stay again. The hot tub was great for the kids”

“Double booked by host and stay so nowhere to stay when we arrived. Eventually found somewhere 30 mins drive away. Not ideal. Now still struggling to get money back from them as accommodation they found us was cheaper. Invoice they sent us wasn’t the same price as the original invoice so we are still owed money. A total nightmare.”
