“Having bought a gazebo we found it impossible to fit both the sides and roof concurrently due to the Velcro positions.
The frame also rubbed a small hole in the roof in gentle wind.
On contacting the company we have now exchanged over 10 e mails over a protected period of 7 weeks and we are no walker’s closer to resolution.
Frustrated and poorer, it seems they have no intention to resolve these issues.”

Meanwhile I am heavily pregnant and my husband is away and our front door is up a few steps. What am I supposed to do now? Leave it at the front gate where it's currently sitting to be stolen?”
“I placed an order for two tents in February and received the consignment in five packages shortly afterwards. All of the packages were banded and taped up securely, so having purchased from Toolport previously I trusted that there would be no issues. On 13th June, I took the packages to the local rugby club, where I was to put them up the following day. When I opened the packages, it was immediately apparent that key parts were missing. 12 four way joints, integral to the structure of the 6x4 tent, 8 feet for the legs and 8 extension poles. Add to that, the roof supplied was for a 6x12 tent! Toolport not interested, as I hadn't had everything out of a banded and taped box in February to check it was all there. Yes, I appreciate this is in their terms and conditions, but they were not interested in the fact that such an error had been made and not even interested at looking into the problem. They don't even want back the oversized parts they sent me. Never again Toolport, never again, your quality control is shameful !!”
“Don’t buy anything from there I have a rental marquee business And I order from them one marquee 6 x 8 and the promised me I was Getting a delivery on a time the man on his side deleted time 3 to 5 working days, but still after that, I don’t receive my delivery and when when I was check the delivery tracking number just show me just a one box of 25 kg delivery company received to deliver to Me then I call to customer care Service and I mentioned the delivery only got a 25 kg box from you but my marquee should be more than 100 kg Customer service, tell me the delivery company mension wrong there But when I receive a delivery, it’s just a one box a parcel should be a 5 or 6 box Raj received that delivery after six days just one box and then I refused that delivery and I called her customer service again and tell them everything. I just receive one parcel and I ask what should I do now give me some solution. I need that marquee Argent Butt tell me they can’t do anything then I tell them to cancel my order and refund my money back and tell me till they get back all the stuff in his warehouse. Don’t give me money back but I don’t receive any of the item My time and also my money”
“Terrible company. We bought the best tent in their range on the advice given by them. The tent didn’t last five months!!! Houseoftents selling cheap products made in China, but the impression they give, is that the tents made in Germany. Refused refund and lied through their teeth. Never use this company!!! As they are based in Germany you can’t even take them to small claims court in UK. We also tried using Paypal for help, but even they refused to help us.”

The £366 one lasted 10 minutes before the legs just crumpled, despite being cable tied to a metal fence. The metal in the legs is no better than a coke can - SO AVOID
Would not refund / replace citing "weather conditions".
The £500+ version has more substantial, hexagonal legs and a strong, weatherproof canopy and represents far better value for money.”
“Bought 5m x 10mtr marquee. It was the lightweight one but it really did well through a heavy storm. But unfortuantely 3 of the metal legs got bent which I did expect due to heavey winds. I contacted manufacturer to find out how I can get replacement legs. Carlos (Sales Support Manager) was just brilliant and told me it was not covered under warranty but as a gesture of goodwill they posted the three legs to me free of charge.
I truly recommend this company and wish I had spent bit more buying their heavy duty marquee which I am sure would give a lot more hardy use for long time.”
“Basically the products are not fit for purpose.. it arrived at my farm in Portugal, the pallet disheveled and parts missing, the instructions are ambiguous covering various model designs and in fact had the wrong number of parts allocated to the one I purchased.
We installed extra huge ground mounts, even made extra pole supports and over roof straps which proved useless as the frames are not strong enough for the cover weight.
A mild wind caused the main frame to snap.
Now they say we erected it wrongly even though their instructions are totally flawed and warranty denied..
Folks… walk away from this product.. we went the extra mile to make this wind safe but it’s really not good gear… lawyers will be engaged..”
“The worst rubbish and waste of money I have ever spent!..bent in half and blew over after 1 windy night.been told by Diana at Toolport it isn't guaranteed against weather and has sent emails basically laughing at the situation. I have informed trading standards, my credit card company and eBay who have said they are dealing with it.I will be going to the small claims court. Inferior goods not of merchantable quality supplied by people who are happy to rip people off and laugh at them. Disgusting!”
“I ordered I 4x8 marquee from them, the cover couldn’t fit over the frame so I called and emailed them sent pictures and video. The man that was dealing with me 1st said they will replace it but they were out of stock for 3 months. I waited and emailed him back call call still to this day he busy. I the talked to someone else who said they would refund me, the phone was put down and I haven’t been able to get her either. I would never buy from them again really bad customer service I didn’t want my money back I just wanted I working marquee.”

7 days to reply to an email, even then we only recived a reply after opening a case with paypal.
Currenlt awaiting a full refund that hasn't been offered by House of tents (toolport) they would rather drag it out through paypal despite having collected their terrible quality goods already.
If Paypal don't refund me ill need to go through the small claims court and report the company for fraud.

“DO NOT BUY FROM HOUSE OF TENTS / TOOLPORT. i spent £625 on a 6x3 tent and it is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. please read reviews from all sites and you will understand why! 4 out of 5 boxes arrived, with several parts missing, and the white panels were dirty...it looked like an unchecked return had been sent to me. i've made several phone calls to their various numbers, of which only 2 have been answered, i've sent even more emails, each with their own "ticket numbers" (their ref nos.) EMAILS ARE NEVER FOLLOWED UP by a real person, just an auto response, when i spoke to customer services they told me to email saying i want to cancel the order, i have done this, but still no response. this has been going on for 2 weeks and i now feel i have to contact trading standards and the small claims court to try and get my money back. it's a lot of heart ache from a uncaring company!”

Website says robust - that is not so. Tried to speak to their customer service department but they never answer. They do not follow up on emails either. I followed their cancellation procedure and returned the product at my own expense. Still nothing from a House if Tents or TOOLPORT. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY”
