“They reduce external noise, but not to the extent I was hoping for. They do not appear to increase energy efficiency during the summer due to install location, but I expect them to help during the winter.”

“Unfortunately I am very disappointed in the product for numerous reasons. Shipping took almost 5 months and all I heard from the company was supply chain issues. Secondary, the product doesn’t work nearly as expected. It has dampened car traffic down some however the entire point of the product was to dampen the train’s horn from near my home. The product has done absolutely nothing for this and I am horrified that I spent a large some of money for see through plastic that doesn’t do much. Unfortunately I don’t suggest this product for anything for than a bit of traffic noise.”

Justin, Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that your are not experiencing the noise reduction that your were expecting. All sound situations are different, as sounds can enter through materials/areas other than the window openings. We are available to troubleshoot the fit of the insert in order to ensure the sound dampening properties are maximized. As to the delays regarding manufacturing and delivery of the product, it is true that lead times and delivery were considerably affected by the supply chain issues involving both material distribution and labor (especially with acrylic and silicone). We have continued to take steps to minimize any delays within our control, but these unprecedented pandemic-related issues have continued to be at play. We understand the impact this has on our customers and remain committed to making and delivering our inserts as efficiently as we can. Once again, we appreciate your feedback and appreciate your engagement in the ongoing process of improving our systems and processes to better serve our customers.

“We purchased an Indow insert so we could keep our beautiful original 1939 leaded glass window. Our goal was only to stop drafts. It not only stopped the drafts it also decreased street noise. We did not expect this benefit what a pleasant surprise.”

“No complaints, except I wish we'd have gotten them sooner. We have a noisy neighbor, and I was shocked how much less noise I could hear next door as I pressed the Indows in place. This is a perfect solution for us.”

“The 4 month wait was way to long , the fit was tight the thought of removing them to open a window for a cool Day etc is really not something you want to do just because of the work it take to get back in and seal just right,as far as the sound benefits yes it works except for the loud trucks and motorcycles. I live on a corner lot and my wife complained all the time about the noise since we installed the indow windows she no longer minds it”

“To me, this was a long shot solution to isolate (my own) noise from neighbors, so when I installed them, I didn't have very high expectations, but darn I was wrong. They work like a charm. Provided you do the measurements right, the system does indeed deliver the value it promises. The installation was simple and the packaging was excellent. If you can endure the long wait times, the final result will not disappoint.”

Diana, Great to hear. So glad you mentioned how "invisible" they appear in the window. This is an aspect that so many customers are looking for in an interior storm window. The optical grade acrylic (clearer than glass) and unobtrusive trim really do help retain focus on what is important: the view, and the look of the existing window. Thanks again for the review.

“I have a large picture window in my living room that faces a very busy street. The insert has helped reduce the noise and I'm optimistic it will also help insulate the room when the weather turns cold. When I measured to order the insert, I didn't know that I had to consider space to accommodate opening the louvers of my four plantation shutters with the insert in place. Sadly, I can now only open the two middle panels of shutters unless I pull the shutters away from the insert because the side panels bump into the insert and don't have enough room to open. An Indow tech tried to help, but there wasn't a good solution. I may order new shutters with smaller louvers.”

“Now I cannot write a review on cleaning/maintenance or anything to the longevity of the insert but as far as noise reduction is concerned this is a great product. I live adjacent to a highway which causes a bit of noise in our bedroom. Since installing the inserts we have noticed a drastic reduction in highway noise.”

“While there were a few bumps along the way after ordering the Indow inserts (incorrect address on the shipping label after confirming it twice with a representative prior to shipment; 15 week production time due to supply issues) they have ultimately been a success for our tenant, who says they reduce noise pollution by 70-80%. Great product.”

Thanks for the question. Yes, the manufacturing sector has experienced extended supply chain and labor issues related to the pandemic. Both acrylic and silicone supply and distribution channels were affected. We have worked hard to limit the effects on lead times and communicate delays throughout. We have also taken steps to increase our production potential in anticipation of the resolution of supply chain issues. We are beginning to see indications of such resolutions and project a return to reduced lead times in the near future.

“Honestly they did very little too absorb the outside traffic noise. ,they are very well made but too be quite honest way overpriced and took way too long too make.i expected them too block outside noise dramatically but did very little too stop the street noise and we purchased your top of the line window inserts...your product does not do at all what you say it does.small reduction in outside noise. but not enough too really make a major difference.”

All sound situations are different. Indow inserts will reduce noise coming through the window openings, but it is not uncommon to require additional noise mitigation for other areas of entry such as walls, doors, soffits, etc. Thank you for the mention on build quality. “When the cold weather sets in that will be the test! I found the process relatively easy after a few false starts. I used the videos to help me. It was a little difficult for me to use the laser measuring tool, because I already had blinds installed and my windows are tall - I am short - and I didn't know how to take them down and reinstall, and I really didn't want to do that. So there was a bit of guess work involved. I held my breath when the inserts arrived. It was a really tight fit, but I got them in. The hard part was getting them up underneath the blinds and shoving them into place, but I did it. They fit snuggly. Now I have to figure out how to better insulate my front door and I should be comfortable in my downstairs this winter. Builders grade is almost as bad as Historic Preservation sometimes. Wish me luck.”
