“We had a great break. All the travel arrangements worked as planned , the hotel was excellent and the seats at the operas were first class. Highly recommended .”

“What a find a company that gives more then I expected. Our first opera and first time to Verona. Flights perfect times no late check out fees. Private air conditioned Mercedes-Benz transfered was excellent. Hotel well placed for arena and close to shops and restaurants. Food at hotel for breakfast great choice and cater for gluten free group member. verona pass what a great idea we visited so many amazing places free with pass and bus travel included made the break. But best of all to be centre gold section right in front of the stage in the arena for the opera. Best seats available everything was perfect and I couldn't ask for more. We couldn't fault the service from start to finish. We will definitely recommend and use ourselves again..”

“Our short break in Verona was a birthday gift to my husband. It was the first time I had used Weekend a la Carte, but I need not have worried. We had the best organised short break ever. We were driven from the airport to our hotel and really appreciated the room upgrade that had been obtained for us. Our evening at the opera was superb as we had marvellous tickets for Tosca, and the rain was kind to us as, although it threatened, it did not fall. The hospitality of our restaurant hosts made the wine tasting which was arranged all the more enjoyable. We managed some shopping, sightseeing and, of course, restaurants. We were collected on time at our hotel and driven to the airport for our flight home, and were already planning another visit next year. Thank you, Weekend a la Carte for making my husband's birthday one to remember.”

“I need a higher star rating than "very good"! The whole trip was superb. Lovely hotel with friendly ever helpful staff, transfers were all done on time by equally friendly and helpful people in Mercedes cars far better than I have at home and the seats we had at the opera exceeded our high expectations. Wonderful view of an absolutely superb spectacle on both nights we attended the Arena. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough. If you are considering this holiday through this company and have any doubts at all cast them aside and go. Not only will you not be disappointed you are likely to be as blown away by the whole experience as we were.”

“The service provided by the booking agency I found to be extremely helpful. Hotel Firenze in Verona was one of the best hotels I have stayed in in a long time. The position was ideal.The staff were extremely helpful and the service excellent. The Hotel Bonticello in Venice did not quite live up to the hotel in Verona.Although the bedroom room was of a good size the air conditioning was not adequate to keep the room cool. The breakfast also left a lot to be desired. The travel arrangements all went smoothly.”

“Fantastic seats for the opera. Comfortable, punctual car transfers and the hotel in Verona was perfect. -couldn't have been in a better location with friendly, helpful staff and very welcome air conditioning and blackout in the rooms. In retrospect though, it would have been better to stay another day or two in Verona as there was so much to see and another night at the opera might have been a good idea. We didn't really have enough time it Lake Garda .”

“This was a magnificent trip faultlessly organised. We were based at three locations, Lake Garda, Verona and Milan. All of our transport turned up on time, the cars were luxurious, and the drivers extremely helpful. The three hotels were first class. We had a balcony room overlooking Lake Garda. T he excursion to Isola del Garda was a delight. We were shown round by Alberta the daughter of the Cavazza/Borgese Family who spoke perfect English. (their mother is English by birth.) The Accademia in Verona is excellent, very centrally placed. All of our documents were awaiting us and all in good order. We had excellent seats for the opera, Nabucco, and enjoyed it so much that we booked again for Aida two nights later. As advised, three nights was just right for Verona which is a charming place. The Hotel la Ville in Milan is magnificent. The staff were very friendly and helpful (except for the serving staff at breakfast who wer5re a bit uncommunicative - couldn't work out why as all the rest were wonderful. We did not get to see Leonardo's Last Supper in spite of all our efforts to book online and by telephone. Staff at the hotel told us that it is notoriously difficult. We went for our art fix to the Brera which is really worth while. So full marks to Hannah at Weekend a la Carte for organising it so perfectly. We were very impressed.”

“Everything was as arranged. Good seats for the opera and on the aeroplane. Transfers to and from the beautiful hotel were on time ,clean and friendly. No complaints at all. We are thinking of going to Florence in a couple of years and will use Italian Short Breaks again . Thankyou”

“Organisation of private transfers excellent - drivers prompt and courteous. Hotel Salo du Parc - excellent standards across the board, staff helpful and friendly, great location. Recommend. Hotel Firenze - functional and comfortable, staff helpful and friendly, convenient location.Tickets for opera waiting at reception as arranged. Nb can rain quite suddenly ( blazing sunshine until hour before start of opera - start delayed by one and half hours. Plenty of people selling 'macs' if not come prepared. Return flight via Monarch awful - flight delayed, no information why. Then over course of three hours told three different departure times - none of which correct ( causing problem for keeping informed people who were collecting us from the airport ). Eventually took off one and half hours late - no explanation and no apology at any time before, during or after flight. Shame it was a frustrating and tiring end to what had been until then an enjoyable holiday. Will avoid Monarch in future.”

“From being met at Verona airport, by a charming lady in a limo - to arriving back at Gatwick, the whole experience was an absolute delight. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends. The hotel was charming & the opera was fantastic. Many thanks to all concerned.”
