-Most certainly won’t buy from them again. -Plants were like small cuttings. -Didn’t get what I ordered. -No communication received when some plants were sold out even though charged for them , was not informed if being refunded or plants were to follow later. - 6 not ordered plants sent to replace 6 plants they had not in stock again no communication, with out oking it with me first. - When I phoned customer services the guy there only made excuses which left things worse. - Only positive comment I can make is plants were well packaged. This is my reply to comments made by Johnstown Garden centre which did not appear on their page. I received an email from you requesting me to write a review. When you didn’t like what I had to say you insulted me by saying that I might be mixing you up with someone else. I have the paperwork and plants that say otherwise. Again the packaging was excellent.

HI Rita, You might be mixing us up with someone else. We supplied all your order plants except 2, 1 Rudbeckia @ €4 and 1 Phlox @ €3. These were marked on your paperwork as refunded . All plants were pot grown plants at least a year old and not rooted cuttings. No plants were sent that were not ordered. You might just check this again

I am at the Cafe in Johnstown it is 11:39am Friday. Tge queue is very long with people ordering full meals. I want a coffee, the barista area is quiet. I went directly to the barista area and skipped the full meal area. I was told to go to the back of the queue in order to get a coffee. I stood at the end of the queue...the coffee serving area was still quiet. I left. I have been an almost daily customer. That's in the past now. What a mess!

Very dissapointed with delivery ,at the delivery day I wasn't home, I back 5 mins later, no ring no message left that my order came. After that He should live my item at the post centre,then I could collect myself,but no he was driving with my plants all day and I was waiting at home witch I could collect them in the morning.After call to him from another post man met in my area,he promised he will be back at the end of the day,but he never back,left my box in post office,then I had to go and pic up after waiting for them all day. Cavan An Post dont care,they treat all orders the same,my plants its not the same like letters could be in the car all day and were in the box few days, thrown few times in and out the car. DPD couriers at least ring if you not at home give alternative options where to live order ,because some people working and cant be home all the time.Very bad experience.

Hi Renata, I am sorry that you had problems with your local delivery postman. This issue is outside our control unfortunately. They have so many parcels to deliver that they cannot go back to the post office each time someone is not at home to leave it there, they can only do this at the end of the day. People not at home is the biggest problem with online home delivery. The plants are dormant now and would have no problems being in a box for a few days at this time of the year.

Very poor service, items called back by vender, two weeks wasted, will order the items from Amazon, they have a good service, unlike u.

The company supplies excellent plants that thrive. Unfortunately, they use Fastway as a courier, who are at best unreliable (and that's being polite). The courier has no contact phone, gives no delivery window, and uses poorly treated franchisees who are not only not held to account but don't give two hoots about faking signature or dropping in a random location. There is a reason that an Irish company cannot find a good review for its primary courier on an Irish website. So, great garden centre, worry about delivery.

Hi, Unfortunately this was an issue with your local Fastway driver and is not generally our experience with this company as our fantastic review score will attest to. It is indeed regrettable that one individual can cause such distress in the online sales process. Apologies for your experience this time.

I wrote a review last time I shopped at the Centre and I was exceptionally pleased and gave you 5 stars. Although fairly satisfied this time I was disappointed at the very small size of the Geranium Rozanne I received. I realize of course that the plants couldn’t be in growth yet but the size was disappointing.

I spend a significant amount of time at Johnstown Garden Centre. This morning I was served (and I use this term very loosely) by what I can only describe as a rude oompa loompa who seemed extremely bothered by the fact that I was at the till interrupting her girls chat. This type of ignorance as you end your visit sours what would otherwise have been an enjoyable experience. Won't be rushing back any time soon.

Hi Sean, Each Pack of 6 plants had a clear adhesive label attached with the variety on it. Please check the packs and you will see it.

I have spent 1k approx in the last month or so and find staff very helpful. I Bought my 4th large planter at a cost of €129 yesterday. I bought the other 3 on Thursdays with other items so that I could avail of the pensioners discount. When I bought the 3 rd planter, i enquired about buying a 4th but was advised was told they were out of stock and would not be available til next year. Therefore,I was surprised that there were 2 planters in store when I called i advised the assistant that I was told that the last time that the planters were unavailable and I asked if I could get the discount. She declined. I’m a little disappointed. Other than that, I find the staff very helpful and the stock good.

HI Mary, Thank you for the feedback. These pots were in fact sold out, but a customer then returned 2 after changing their mind, which is how 2 appeared back in store again. NO new deliveries had come in though. The THursday discount applies every Thursday and you are welcome to avail of that, but the system will not permit it on any other days.

My pots came completely rusted, the soil had all fallen out which meant I had to re plant them. I was gave them 2 days to send my new pots. They still haven't come. The pots were dirty and covered in sand. I wont be using this company again. Regards Gabriella

Hi Gabriella, Apologies for this issue, The plants came straight off the delivery truck and into a box for you. We were not aware of the issue at the time. We immediately sent you replacement pots, which I see were in fact delivered this morning

In general I was not impressed with the quality of most of the plants I received, they looked like they belong in the bargain section rather than be sold at full price. The Polemonium Brize is covered in powdery mildew, the Aloe Plicatilis is slanting to one side and most of it’s leaves are looking horrid, the Yucca Purpurea looks like it’s been dragged through the hedge backwards, it seemed that the worst plants were specially chosen for my order. I can go on and on, I am sure by now you know that I am not a happy customer .

Even though you had clearly marked box must lie flat the driver left it standing up so a few plants were damaged

Two of the items were not delivered and the items that did arrive took a long time to deliver. Had I known when ordering that they did not have the items I ordered I would not have completed the order.

I'm a new customer. My experience is 100% positive. I was kept up to date with the order progress throughout the order. I got plenty of after care instructions for my plant. The flower pot was moist, plant well wrapped and protected. Packing was in excellent condition. I'd like to purchase from JOHNSTOWN GARDEN CENTRE AGAIN. I wasnt waiting too long either. I got a days notice that it was coming the next day. Many congratulations to all concerned on a job well done.

I saw two olive trees in Johnstown Garden Centre, when I was buying something else. Later, I phoned up and they kept the olive trees for me at the Information Desk, with my name on them, until I was ready to collect them. I was given information on how to care for them. I bought a Sambucus Blue Sheen tree and a Rosa Rugosa shrub, online for click & collect. I phoned Johnstown Garden Centre to see if they had them in stock, there. The girl on the phone checked and said 'yes' and she was able to explain to me all about the tree and shrub and the ideal conditions for growing them. Again, they were kept at the Information Desk for me, with my name on them. Elizabeth Doyle.
