I wrote an honest review here a few days ago about solar lights (2sets) that cost €29.95 each and neither of them work. One set worked for a couple of days and then nothing the other set never worked. I never bought them back to the store because I live to far away and also had no packaging for either as had binned them not thinking I would ever need them and had no receipts also. So I binned the lights as there was no point in keeping if not working. I recieved an email from the store obviously after they read my review and they wanted to help. I have got several emails over 2 days about how they could help the situation. Even though I didn't get my €60 worth back in the end because I binned the goods I understand but however I would just like to point out they where great at coming back to me and genuinely wanted to make sure they could help rather than ignoring the review. But thankyou johnstown and I think this is only fair to people that read the reviews that I let people know that you did try to help. But I wont be purchasing the lights in your store again 👍

Thank you very much for the delivery of my acer, unfortunately my mum didn't really like it, it is a lovely plant we just thought it would be bigger and a different color Kindest regards Deirdre

I bought an online gift voucher last week. It arrived promptly 2 days later. I was disappointed with the presentation, it was very poor. The website asked me for a message to go with the gift which I input but all I got was a bog standard gift card with no message or card or nice packaging

Ordered flowers online last week delivered 4 days later but with half dead lilies.! this is the second time this had happened to me I didn’t phone to complain this time but I definitely won’t be ordering anything again online...!!

We don't ship half dead plants. These plants have been dormant all winter and are just starting to grow now after the winter. If you had contacted us we could have explained . This is the cycle of nature.

I placed 2 orders on the 14th April - JGC58014 received; JGC58026 - not received. I placed 1 order on the 15th April - JGC58047 - not received.

I am happy with the condition of the plants I ordered so far but was extremely disappointed in the excess unnecessary plastic wrapping . I would have expected a more earth friendly solution to transporting your plants from a garden centre. This would make me reconsider ordering from you again.

HI Ross, The only plastic we normally use is to cover the wet soil on the plants, to prevent the moisture destroying the boxes of our plants and also any other deliveries the courier may have in their van. Couriers will not accept wet items that will damage other packages. The only way around this from an environmental point of view is to call and collect your plants.

Waited to long for order over 2 weeks. When it arrived some ordered items had been substituted without reference. One item was broken. Overall it was very badly packed

I spend a significant amount of time at Johnstown Garden Centre. This morning I was served (and I use this term very loosely) by what I can only describe as a rude oompa loompa who seemed extremely bothered by the fact that I was at the till interrupting her girls chat. This type of ignorance as you end your visit sours what would otherwise have been an enjoyable experience. Won't be rushing back any time soon.

Hi Sean, Each Pack of 6 plants had a clear adhesive label attached with the variety on it. Please check the packs and you will see it.

Some of the grasses were small and just reported not worth €8 each

Hi Denis, It is the end of the growing season for this grass and they have been trimmed. they were also only charged at €7 not €8

It was delivered very fast, 2 days. However I will never order for them again. I ordered couple of items, one of them was orchid compost 8 litres what was in stock online. When they realised it was sold out, nobody contacted me, they sent me only 4 litre orchid compost instead without letting me know. I payed postage for it. I needed 8 litres, I ordered 8 litres, only half was delivered. They returned the difference in the price, but didn't realise that if I want another 4 litre bag I have to pay for postage second time. They could send me 2*4 litres=8 litres, but they didn't bother. I contacted them about it, still no answer. I'm very disappointed and as I said I will never order for them again.

I'm afraid they left me down, I bought Thuja Smaragd emerald suppose to be 80 to 100 CM High instead they sent down 2 plants about 60 Cm high, I wouldn't mind they had my landline phone my mobile and my e-mail address all they had to do was contact me and tell me they hadn't the plants i wanted, I was sick when i saw them the problem is that i wanted to fill a gap in the hedge where i planted the same hedge July 2016 and t'was 80 cm i used that time and you can imagine with nearly 2 years growth the height difference that why i ordered the 80 cm to 100 cm plant this time. Im have to try now and get the plants i wanted somewhere else. The last order i gave them was for 1,600euros for one hundred and fifteen plants in 2016 and they were perfect plants.

I got an email on Wednesday to say the plants had been shipped, they arrived the following Tuesday, suffice to say some of them hadn't survived...possibly the fault of the delivery company but JGC are responsible for the delivery of their products to customers

HI Sean, Apologies for the delay in delivery of your order. Some things are outside our control. Your plants are all dormant still, having spent the whole winter outdoors, so they will not have come to any harm and will all survive perfectly. Once the weather warms up you will see lots of fresh growth.

Instead of delivering to my mothers house it was dropped in the garden of a woman in the same village without knocking on her door but thankfully she knew my mother and called her to come pick up the box which has been literally left in the middle of her garden. Very dissapounting but am grateful for honest people who didn’t steal the Mother’s Day present I sent to my mum.

My order took 2 weeks to arrive, 3 plants were missing. There was NO invoice or delivery note in the boxes or on the outside of the parcel to explain. As it was 7pm I emailed query to the email address in website, eventually received reply advising 3 plants out of stock and value refunded to my card. Considering 2 weeks wait why was I not advised sooner that these plants were not available I would have chosen something else.

Hi Anne, for the 2 weeks, we were trying to source the plants for you, but they were unavailable from grower after grower. This is what caused the delay.

ordered a tree , it came and was faulty after paying for delivery I was asked if I could drop it back. They had no other of the same tree to replace me but got offered to a buy a tree that was very expensive... instead of just replacing the tree that I ordered or else giving me the more expensive tree without paying for it as it was a fault on your stores behalf because of this will not visit your store or visit your coffee shop again.

Hi Rachel, Sorry to hear that you are not happy with the service provided to you. On occasion we ask customers to bring damaged or faulty products back to the store if it is convenient to them, as this can speed up the process of rectifying the issue considerably. Unfortunately we were out of stock of the tree that you had originally ordered when you returned to the store so we could not give you a replacement. This is why you were offered a different tree that we had in stock or a refund, this is not ideal but unfortunately it was the only option available to us at the time. I'm sorry you felt we didn't resolve your concern correctly and we are sorry to loose your future custom.

Delivery service was very poor. I received the following message from the recipient:- "Tim many thanks for the "Wollemi Pine" it is nice thought and much appreciated it will planted in a suitably sheltered spot. The bloody couriers made a meal of the delivery, first 12 k away in Kingscourt then in our local garage with no notification, thankfully the garage owner rang and asked if the parcel was for us." I don't understand why when we gave you the recipients telephone number no attempt was made to call them, furthermore the tracking details said that you/they had "Authority to leave without a signature"

Hi Timothy, Apologies, something went wrong on the delivery side of things with this order. We contacted the courier firm and they responded " The driver should have brought back to the depot for us to make enquires. Sincere apologies driver will be spoken to in relation to same and deliveries going forward. "
