Made 1 order online. It arrived in bits on 3 different days. Some of the expensive bamboo plants where also damaged .With some of the stems broke. I spoke with the guy in charge.He was rude and really believed it was ok for the plants to arrive on different days.He was also shocked to hear the plants were damaged and would not believe this and he would not expect it and brushed it under the table. Bad service and customer support. Not happy.

Hi Cathal, You actually placed 2 orders 32126 and 32081 on 2 seperate days, 1 for Bamboo and 1 for smaller plants, 45 orders apart, so it would be normal for these to be sent seperately

I was entirely disappointed to find that my order of plants was sent by an post. When I picked it up from the sorting office as I wasn't in that day, I found that the plants were upended and thrown around, with the soil all over the box and leaking out of the sides. Other times I have ordered from Johnstown and have had plants die a few days after receiving them. But the most unpleasant was when I ordered plants and within an hour of unpacking them, had come out in an allergic reaction. I have never been allergic to any plants before, so I can only assume that it was whatever they were sprayed with that affected me. Never again!

Hi Lisa, Apologies that an post treated your order like this. They are supposed to telephone you if there is no one home to rearrange delivery. I can assure you that the plants are not sprayed with anything at all, but you may be allergic to Lavender Oil? The oil would have been released by the plants if they were bruised and damaged. I think it is best if I just refund you for this in case the new lavender causes the same reaction.

Hello, The delivery was fast enough but, unfortunately the condition of the flower was not good... I though is not gonna be a mature flower, not with yellow leafs, it was not watery timely... I hope it will be in good condition after taking care of it. Anyway, thank u! Regards, Delia

Hi Deliana, This plant is a succulent and stores water in the leaves. It is from the desert and will rot if the soil is kept wet. Therefore it needs to be dry with watering just once per month. It is very slow growing, just about 2 cm per year. A mature one would take 10-20 years to grow and weigh many kilos and cost a lot more that €6. Keep it in a sunny window and water very sparingly and it will do very well

Plants very very small for price. 4 ft tree fern ordered but 3 ft tree fern was delivered, not advised of substitution prior to delivery. Tree fern arrived without pot contrary to advertisement. Phone call to garden center re above has not been returned yet. Overall disappointing experience on a spend of e600.

HI Catherine, Apologies but we emailed you regarding the tree fern. The 4 ft all sold out the day we put them up and the next batch is not due for a few weeks so we offered the 3 ft at reduced price and refunded the difference. The tree ferns are offered as Trunks on the website not in pots at this time of year. The other plants you ordered are all about to leaf up for summer. I was away at the weekend so could not return your call, sorry

I have no quibble with Johnstown Garden Centre - the Fastway Courier, I think, was at fault. Unfortunately, the delivery should have been made on a Friday, but did not make it to me until the Monday. Now, I may have been at fault as I had an email from them to say that they had tried to ring me, but could not reach me. The number may have been my old one, so I sent an email back with my new one. I collected the parcel from my local pub on the Monday. When I got home and opened it, most of the soil had fallen out of the pot, and only one of the bamboos that had been taped had stayed in place. I felt that the man in the van had given the parcel a very rough ride. I soaked the roots and re-potted the tree and it looks okay. Just thought I would let you know - maybe a change of courier would be a good idea??

Hi Adelia thank you for your review. Sorry to hear that the plant got knocked around a bit but this could easily happen if it is left over the weekend. We never ship plants on a Friday for this reason. I am glad to hear that your plant is still doing ok.

Just back Sunday 13 feb 16.had some dinner just ok not to hot ., also a bit expensive .the garden centre was good .I think Newlands is better.

Hi Margaret I am really sorry about this as the couriers had damaged your plant in transit so could not deliver it. We did send a new one today so you will most likely have it tomorrow. Apologies again

The fatsia I bought was bent over because it did not hav a stake to support it and the plant was free from the pot. Earlier purchases I made from Johnstown came in much better condition.

The plants arrived promptly but were nearly all out of the pots and all covered in the soil they should have been in!

12 plants bought and received. They varied in size from 9 @ three and a half inches to 3 @ 9 inches. I contacted JGC and was told that I could return the plants and receive a refund. This solution was not satisfactory so I shall not be buying directly or on line again. Very disappointed at the variation in the plants I received and your customer service.

Hi Mary Rose. I'm sorry you feel that way. I offered the refund to you as I felt this was the best solution as all the plants had been cut back as it is not the season for them. They will come back again next year and look beautiful.
