“Jones was able to provide a replacement bag for me after I had a malfunction with the cooler zipper pocket of my Trouper 3.0, within the warranty period. After initial pushback from a customer service representative over email, I was able to contact them over the phone and explain my issues and they were more than happy to help resolve the issue. The replacement bag performs as expected and am hoping this new bag will last for years to come!”
“High quality at a fair price, and was lucky to grab the 30% Memorial Day sale. With the cooler pocket (which I sought out and wanted) there is no true ball pocket. The ones on the side are a bit shallow and tough to get in to.”
“Love the material, love the size, high quality. My only complaint is the size of the large side garment pocket. A little small and the covers on the zippers make it a little hard to into them. Very minor complaint. Love the bag, very nice looking, I have received a lot of compliments.”
“The bag is very useful with lots of pockets. It is an attractive bag. My only issue with the bag is the bag stand legs are not very strong and the bag falls over often.”
“My Rover bag arrived last week and so far is great. However, the rangefinder bag zipper came off track and metal is brittle and broke while gently attempting to get it on track.”
“This is a quality bag with plenty of room for a full 18 at my experience level. I wish the straps were better designed though. It's awkward to sling over my back every time with the double straps. I went with just one for a bit, but my back and foot didn't like that. Overall, I'm happy with my puirchase though.”
“Have always been a fan of Jones — have bought countless bags over the years, accessories, and lots of other types of items. One thing that’s been getting a bit out of hand are the prices on apparel. Have always wanted to buy apparel to rep the brand but I just can’t stomach paying prices that are a bit ridiculous. $125 for a hoodie? $125 for a crewneck sweatshirt? $40 for a t-shirt? I’ll continue to rep the brand on the course just because I grew up with this brand and it’s been part of my golfing world ever since I can remember, but I’ve limited the amount of new gear I purchase from Jones because of the pricing model they’ve chosen to go with.”
“Purchased my Jones bag via the "blind bag" promotion and recevied an Original Jones Hardwood bag. I've walked two rounds with the bag and find it a real joy to carry. Only issue for me with the width of the shoulder strap. Wearing several layers to ward off the Chicago cold wind, I had a little trouble keeping the wide strap on my shoulder. Once I can dump the sweaters, I'm sure the strap will work great. Overall, excellent quality and very attractive bag.”
“Overall, nice bag the straps are a little wonky difficult to get to sit correctly with the pad on your back. Some of the pockets are difficult to use if you have stuff in them the other ones become difficult to get into.”
“I'm a bag junkie. I love light bags like the ping craze-lite abd the sun mountain 2.5. I have 3 jones small single strap bags as well .
I love this bag ! The straps are great and easy to adjust and they have a small thingy that keeps them neat too
No handle on top is not an issue whatsoever.
The only improvement I'd make is on the left side, extend the pocket to make it longer for a bit more storage. The valuable pocket could be smaller to accommodate
The color choices are great as well.”
“Great overall carry bag. The only reasons it’s not 5 stars is there’s easy lost opportunity to have a slim full length pocket, no top handle, and some cheapish plastic components. It’s perfect for a weekly carry at the home course but I wouldn’t bring it on a golf trip where I might want to bring more stuff and have greater convenience and robustness.”
“Purchased a golf bag for a Xmas gift at full price and 2-3 weeks later the item was offered at 40% off. I called and was unable to receive a refund for the difference but was offered other less options. I would have preferred a refund. I would also like to say that your representive was very polite.”
“The Trouper 3 is light enough for an everyday carry and has plenty of storage. While the center beverage pouch is more beneficial/functional for canned/bottled beverages, it holds a larger 32oz water bottle well too. The depth of the bag is a little too deep and putters with an overall length less than 36” will not hit the bottom of the bag and your headcover will deteriorate more quickly. Also, the lack of a Velcro landing pad for gloves on the bag is a miss; plenty of areas this could have been added. Finally, I’d like to see more color options for this model, like the Rover, or alter the Rover’s 3-way divider into a 4 or 5 way versus 3. Not surprising, the build quality is exceptional.”
“I have had good experiences dealing with Jones. I recently purchased a Rover stand bag. In general it seems well designed and well constructed. I have two minor critiques: (1) The bag should have a beverage sleeve (not insulated and should not add more than an ounce to the bag). The bag is designed primarily for walkers - most of whom probably want an accessible water bottle; and (2) I really don’t like the magnetic closure for the upper ball/misc. pocket. It’s not secure; I wonder about things falling out when the bag is in the trunk of my car or otherwise not in use; and the magnetic closure leaves openings at each side which allow rain to get in the pocket. In fact I observed this the very first time I used the bag, when we had a brief, unexpected, and intense rain shower. Why not just put a zipper on this pocket (like all the other pockets)? Other than those two comments, I think the bag will serve my purposes pretty well.”
