“Who is the person in charge, who's earning the big bucks. You are not doing your job right, shocking waiting times at passport control, poor service from the officers, very slow. Worst airport I've ever used.”
“Airport used to be good but as it’s developed it has got worse and worse to the point after the last time that I would no longer use it. Specific things to be aware of:
- Security queues running out of the building and taking 2-3hours, of course you can PAY EXTRA to fast track, so factor in the time or additional cost.
- Picking up and dropping off is a nightmare, of course there is a free zone miles from the terminal at the mid stay carpark (never seen that at any airport ever!) add another 30 minutes to check in time. Everything else is under camera surveillance, so don’t try it, fines £70-100.
- There is a pick up /drop off zone by the terminal, guess what, that 2minute drop off = £7 for family and friends or added to your taxi fair ! By the time you see the sign you are committed, if you stop you get fined, you can’t turn, it’s all one way - you will get fined !
You get the message, the airport and council onto a massive money fleecing exercise, on top of the lack of any viable public transport option to get there. Better just go to Manchester, Newcastle, East Midlands etc and give Leeds a miss.”
“First time from LBA for a long time despite it being only 4 of miles away from home, unfortunately the experience was not good, can't think of one good thing to say about, it's a shambles.”
“We both struggle to walk, we got off the plane by a tunnel, then we traveled along a corridor, then we descended steps
onto the floor, we then walked and climbed a ramp back into the building, my wife then wanted a toilet the mens was open but the ladies wasnt. We then walked to the luggage area, from there we walked to the taxi rank. What a farce, roll on the opening of doncaster far far better.”
“Arrived back from Kos at2am .Passport control OK BUT the new baggage reclaim area is a shambles .The exit corridors are very narrow within the building and once outside there is what appears to be a temporary .poorly lit ramp which doubles back on itself and for anyone who has walking issues a nightmare .I can't believe that is going to persist .No improvement on the previous system..certainly not in terms of exit once the bags have been collected . Disappointing .”
“We arrived back at 3am and had to wait to depart the plane as the two buses working were servicing other arrivals. The queue then for passport control was the longest I have ever seen and took an hour to get through as there are only four passport control stations. Leeds Bradford Airport bills itself as an international airport.Its a complete shambles! Such a shame as Jet2 are a good company and it reflects badly on them.”
“On our return from Morocco on 5 June 2025 we were put onto coaches and driven to the airport entrance. As the coach got to the entrance (which did not stop as near to the entrance as it could have) it absolutely poured down. Two female airport attendants told everyone to get off. Several did so to find the doors to the entrance hadn’t even been opened so had to stand in the pouring rain. I said I wasn’t getting off as I would get soaked when one of the attendants quite aggressively told me to get off. This is the second bad experience I have had at this airport. I don’t know who is in charge but it needs to look at the disgusting service it offers. You only have to look at its rating to see that it is not fit for purpose.”
“This airport needs a serious rethink. Overcrowded. Can't even imagine if there was an emergency. Took one hour 15 minutes to get through passport control, ridiculous queues as soon as you enter the building....and onto a transfer bus. 1.5 hour wait for a taxi so took a bus. Awful far too infrequent stops everywhere takes 45 minutes to go 7 miles to the train station. So over two hours to get to 7 miles train station....I would rather pay double for a more frequent direct shuttle to the station. I can get through Charles de Gaulle in Paris more quickly. Awful experience. Newcastle does not have enough flights from France.”
“Absolutely shocking, kept waiting on the runway whilst other airlines given priority. When finally bused less than 100m to arrivals lounge made queue again outside. When inside no working escalator so people with cases, children etc having to struggle up stairs.”
“Leeds Bradford airport is dirty overcrowded and does not provide proper departure lounges just bars where passengers drink to excess. In my opion it is dangerous due to the overcrowding in the so called departure where passengers have to sit on stairs exiting the lounge to escape drunken passengers.”
“On arriving back on 27March, 2025 at Arrivals Number 5 escalator up `not operational` `closed for safety reasons`!!! & there is no lift Why ? it was the same when we arrived back the last time. If its broken fix it!!
You want to promote Leeds Bradford - then you need to improve.

“Long queues for security even at fast track. Was flying business class, Yorkshire lounge closed without any announcement on the website or anything. No alternative lounge (it’s too busy in there, we can’t let you in). Only seating available was near gates 9 and 10, where it was freezing cold. Lousy airport, would definitely try to fly into another one next time I have to visit Yorkshire.”
“Bit of advice. Drop your passengers off on the little road at the of the bottom of the car park, do not enter the drop off zone as you will be ripped off £7 for been there seconds.”
