I wrote a review a couple years back giving 5* for in-store service. All fine, but 2 years on there has been an issue with the Smudge armchair. There are pins/nails, pointing upwards underneath the seat cushioning, so that any time you sit down it pricks you under the thigh. It isn't a manufacturing defect, since there are two on either side of the chair. It makes me think it is a fundamental design flaw. It has been used mainly by my wife, who is 50kg, and not every day either. Contacted Loaf SOS - sent in several pictures. Each time I had a response it was from a different person, and most of them didn't bother reading the thread so they made assumptions and gave advice for problems I had never complained about. I spent most of the time trying to correct them, only to have a response from someone different who had not read the thread! I'm giving 2* because I did get a full refund eventually. But really, the chair was £850. For that price I'd expect a seat that doesn't fight back.

Achilles three years on. Terrible from the beginning. Engineer came out after purchased as we complained how flat the base cushions were....the cushions were not made correctly apparently (no foam) so replaced. Whilst here he gave us a lesson in how to plump base cushions....oh please ...how patronising! The new ones...Great lumps of foam you can feel through the cushion. Flat as a pancake after half an hour sitting on it apart from the massive lumps of foam!....I'm not exactly heavy! Literally sheds feathers...the back cushions are half the size they were...it's a joke now within the family as we literally pluck the sofa to stop the spiky feathers sticking into us! My dog sheds less! My husband won't sit on it as it gives us all back pain. poor quality filling ...avoid. expensive for what you get

Looks great, but my god, it is uncomfortable. And it requires about as much attention as having a pet, including the brushing. My fault for getting the beautiful velvet fabric, but it wears terribly. And their fault for having horrible fills for the cushions. It is, as someone else noted, like sitting on concrete. You literally have to plump up these heavy mfs every day if you want to be comfortable. It shifts and becomes leaden quickly. Same with the included pillows, which shed large, pointy feathers occasionally. This was supposed to be a luxury sofa. I suspect there are others at half the price that are not only more durable and require less care, but are also way more comfortable. Their CS is fab, but their overpriced product is not.

Loaf products look amazing online. They look amazing as feature pieces. Fair play. They've got their marketing down. But when you actually try and use them, they just don't work. Beauty and functionality shouldn't be mutually exclusive. We spent over £2500 on an armchair and small sofa. After about a month our armchair is making a creaking noise, having made a loud crack at one point when I sat on it. I weigh 11 stone. And the arm design is too upwardly sloped at the ends. You feel like you're always reclining. Our sofa is ridiculously low to the ground. Having asked about alternative legs, they want another £100 to send us anything. The cushion design doesn't work. As many others have said, the cushions require constant attention. All the filling moves to the end. They just aren't full enough. A half-empty sack does not a sofa cushion make. And the smell! You can't market 'scrummyness' as a cover-up for poor design. I wish I'd read reviews before purchasing! I so wish I'd sent them back within the (very short) two week return window. I'm reading reviews, and writing this one, for a bit of catharsis! Turns out we're not the only ones who feel a bit silly. As a young couple, this was meant to be our big furniture investment, for the next 20 years. What a disappointment. It's a case of selling them second hand for what we can get, and saving up again. Needless to say, next time, we'll try before we buy.

Words fail me when explaining how uncomfortable these sofas are. The cushions stay plump for all of three minutes after back breaking plumping sessions and they are back to flat bags of cements. If we didn't spend an ungodly amount on them, they would be gone in a flash. They look really really lovely but god they are infuriatingly uncomfortable. We are now having to look into paying even more to get them stuffed with foam instead.

We purchased our sofa last summer, the most we have ever spent on furniture! The sofa and love seat arrived on time as expected with great communication and the colour is beautiful….sadly that’s where the good parts end. One of the back cushions was very limp compared to the others. We were quickly offered a replacement inner. However we have fixed buttons on the sofa and the inner cannot be removed. So after several emails to ask how it could be swapped over due to fixed buttons we kept being told its. It a problem. So the new inner duly arrived and guess what we couldn’t do anything as the buttons are fixed. So another call to the customer service team then printed a service engineer to be booked, who when he arrived couldn’t understand why we had been sent the new inner as we’d never have been able to change it due to the fixes buttons. I have to say the sofa is very hard to sit on. It’s not the heavenly soft experience we were expecting. We keep plumping the cushions but it’s really not that comfortable. The love seat seems to be ok. I have to say we are really disappointed with the sofa. Seems to be style over substance.

We purchased the Smoothie bed which took about 12 weeks to be delivered. Although the bed looked great initially once we put the mattress on it was clear the bed was poorly designed. The headboard depth means the mattress sits about 5 cm off the foot of the bed. The 5 cm is about the depth of the headboard. Really surprised that anyone would keep this bed based on the design. I even wondered if it was our mattress but that is the right size and according to the loaf website the bed is the right size just a poor design. Thankfully it is being collected so can't fault the customer service. Sorry loaf. Lovely bed shame about the poor design.

Returned one Oscar sofa after two days...so faulty it squeaked when sat on and then when a cushion dropped on it! Loaf did collect and refund me wishing 14 days which was good. No worries I thought because the chalky blue velvet Crumpet was the main attraction anyway. Imagine my surprise today to find the staples in the arms are peeking through and are rusty! I've never known that before. And after just 3 months. I've contacted Loaf. Who knows what my options are? Could be a £2000 mistake. I'm so disappointed.

We've had our Loaf sofa for just coming up to 1 year. We paid over £2k for this sofa, direct from Loaf. Design-wise: very cute. Love the design and the fabric (clever velvet). But ohhh wow...the shape of the cushions is SO BAD. You have to literally fluff them every single day and they just flatten out and look AWFUL within the same day. Honestly would not recommend. For the price we paid, I feel pretty sick.

Our 3.5k sofa arrived last night at 5.30pm. It was just left in our front room all wrapped no instructions on connecting it together. I now know they can’t put it together because of covid but they took our money. Covid didn’t stop that. We both have bad backs and it weighs a ton especially the sofa bed bit which by the way they didn’t tell us it was still wired up. Not good service. We were going to get another for one of the bedrooms but think we will look elsewhere

We bought a crumpet sofa over two years ago. The cushions contained no foam which was stated in the marketing, just feathers which clumped together making it very unomfortable and ugly and a huge effort to plump up several times a day. To their credit, Loaf did replace the cushions, but one was slightly smaller than the other and the clumping problem still occured. In the end we measured up and bought good quality foam ourselves. It cost us about £150 to do this and we were nervous about getting the size right. The sofa doesn't have the nice comfy look of the advertising but it is now firm and useable.

I thought the style looked really cool when buying back in June but the sofa looses its shape so easily and looks dented every time you sit on it! It’s also slanted when you sit on it and not that comfy! Wish I could of seen it in the flesh before purchasing as it was so expensive you’d at least expect it to keep its shape :(

Nothing wrong. We have two pudding sofas one in fabric and one in leatherand (a love seat) The cushions loose their shape and have no spring in them, thou they are comfy, but you have to buff them up all the time as they have goose feathers in them, and the feathers keep coming out and can prick you as you sit on them. Have had these for about a year and you really do get fed up with having to buff them up all the time as the cushions are heavy and require beating in shape.
