“Scoring 3 out of 5 due to the fact everything we stored at the back on the container had serious condensation on in and a lot of our boxes got wet and therefore had mould growing on them which isn’t ideal when your using it for a long period of time. You might want to install more ventilation in your containers? Apart from that though the customer experience was really good, easy to book, customer service was available when you needed it and also really easy to use. You can just come and go when you please which is great.”

Thank you for your review Mr Perkins and for your kind words regarding the positive customer experience and service you received. We are sorry that you had a problem with condensation. Our Loc-Boxes are always carefully checked prior to occupancy to ensure they are clean and dry and we advise our customers to only store dry goods and to pay particular attention to drain down and dry any fridges, freezers, washing machines and tumble driers. Moisture can be introduced to a Loc-Box in this way. If you would like to discuss this further with us please don't hesitate to call the team, we are available 8am to 6.30pm 7 days per week.

“Some of my items were damp and mouldy when I can to collect them so I wasn’t very happy!”

Dear Miss Coombes Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I have looked into your account and spoken to the team. We are sorry to hear that you have had issues with damp - this is the first time we have been made aware of it. We know that you had some payment issues during your stay with us. We understand that customer's can occasionally have cash flow issues and so we worked these through with you. I have tried to call and left a couple of voicemails and also sent two emails to try and better understand the problem but we've not heard back. We have inspected the unit (which is less than 18 months old) and it is dry and fully watertight - is it possible that you put things in damp? Storing damp and wet things is not something we recommend and we highlight this during our booking process and also on the inside of your unit door. “Very secure but also very pricey”

Thank you for your review and I'm pleased you felt our Kettering site was secure. I'm sorry you felt our storage was pricey. We operate a clear and transparent pricing structure across all our sites which we believe represents good value and regularly price check to ensure we remain competitive. The prices are clearly set out on our website prior to booking and also to any customers who call up requesting details or quotes. At our Kettering Site we charge (and you paid) £27.08+VAT a week the equivalent of £9.41/sqft/per annum. This is less than half of the average price of self storage in the UK average which in 2015 was £22.15/sqft (https://www.ssauk.com/media/1167/annualsurvey2016web.pdf). Whilst this does include the whole of the UK we are confident Loc-Box offers a high quality product at a fair price. We do have cheaper storage available at our nearby site at Market Harborough and would be delighted for you to store here if you need storage again in the future.
