ecently purchased a gas heater from them which turned out to be dangerous and faulty. Tried to return under the 14 day return policy, but, had product returned stating no fault found. Clearly it is faulty and we were trying to return under the 14 day return policy. Customer Services refuse to speak to us on the phone about it and state we have to escalate via email. We hold out very little hope for a resolution which doesn't involve the small claims court. We have purchased a fair bit from Machine Mart over the years, but, never again now.

Whilst going about my job in the Piersfield Terrace area of Edinburgh on Tuesday December 3rd, , I noticed these 2 frail old ladies they must have been in their late 70’s or early 80’s and under 5 feet tall struggle with what looked like 2 oil filled radiators, these things looked heavy and they must have weighed in excess of 15 Kg each, they came out of MACHINE MART and these poor old biddies could hardly lift these things of the ground, they then struggled with great difficulty to lift them up into their car, a hard enough job for a fit and healthy young man. I could see what looked like 2 or 3 guys in the show room window just standing watching these poor old women, they really struggled with these boxes. Shame on you MACHINE MART, you guys should be ashamed of yourselves, disgraceful behaviour and a totally unacceptable level of customer service by MACHINE MART. What’s happened to this country, when men stand and watch old ladies struggle to lift heavy boxes and don’t offer assistance. You guys are probably the same ones who would fail to offer your seat on a bus to an old person or a blind person…. You make me sick….

I've had to rate 1star because i did not have the choice of any minus ratings. Where do I start? I bought an sds impact drill to remove old tiles off my kitchen floor. Only LASTED ABOUT ONE HOUR. Returned it to the Gloucester branch who would not give me a refund and said it would be down to the DINOSAURS based at head office whether I get a refund or not. Baring in mind this item is not fit for purpose, the only suggestion the manger had was that it must have been made on a Friday and that i Got unlucky. Thats not the point, I was entitled to a refund. After two weeks of deliberation by the DINOSAURS at head office it was completely broken but I was STILL NOT ENTITLED to a refund but I could have a credit note. I spent nearly an hour driving into Gloucester where I went to claim my credit note against another product I DID NOT WANT TO BUY but was forced to, this was ordered in branch where I paid extra for postage to be posted direct to my home address saving me another hours drive into Gloucester. Nearly a week later I have just received a phone call from the manager of Gloucester stating that the new item has been delivered to branch and could not be home delivered by Bosch and therefore I would need to waste another hour of MY TIME driving into branch, so why did I pay extra for delivery????? I WOULD NOT RECOMEND BUYING ANYTHING FROM MACHINE MART UNLESS YOU ARE RETIRED AND HAVE PLENTY OF TIME ON YOUR HANDS TO SORT OUT THEIR PROBLEMS FOR THEM. Buy from either TOOLSTATION OR SCREWFIX with their no quibble REFUND POLICY and you will save a lot more money in the long run. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING ELSE FROM MACHINE MART AND RECOMMEND YOU DO THE SAME OTHERWISE IT WILL COST YOU A LOT MORE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY. WHY WOULD ANY IDIOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. ASTA LA VISTA DINOSAURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Move aside and let the professionals take over you idiots.

sent me a damaged item then took 4 phone calls to get them to collect it had me waiting in 9 hours and no one turned up so still no refund AVOID THIS MACHINE MART THERE SERVICE IS SHOCKING

This review is about an IG1000 Inverter Generator brought from Machine Mart in 2016. After 3 years and virtually no use it would not start. Despite cleaning thoroughly the service department insisted it needed a new carburettor. Clearly it must have been a manufacturing defect but MM would not contribute to the £150 repair, which is nearly cost of original purchase. Explained this to customer care call taker in Nottingham, he was not interested. When asked to speak to senior person was told they will tell you exactly and was arrogant to the extreme. Machine Mart customer care is shocking, I would avoid this company in future

Be careful when ringing. I had to ring Machine Mart and have just noticed that the calls cost me £9 and £7 on 08714101250. Needless to say I am not happy. I wish I had used say no to 0870.

Ordered a hedge trimmer. They took my money then told me it was out of stock. a month later I'm still waiting for a refund. Buy elsewhere. Unreliable company.

Absolute awful company. Called technical department for advise prior to ordering a drier to run on my compressor. Was advised the drier come s with a 3 pin plug ready to use. It did not and now machine mart won't accept the unit back for a refund. Customer service team were rude, patronizing and very unhelpful. Two occasions was promised a call back and this only happened once. AVOID!!!

I wish I had read the reviews first. My annoyance seems minor compared to many on here. I ordered a small part for next day delivery on a Thursday about 2.35pm. Spending an extra £3 because as there website said "it's only £3 more for next day". I needed the part for the weekend hence paying the extra cost. I received an email invoice which stated 'Parcelforce' as the postal service. Friday came and went - no delivery. Great I thought but Parcelforce delivers on a Saturday. Saturday came and went - no delivery. I emailed them to state my annoyance that it hadn't turned up next day. I suppose I should be grateful they did reply. However the email was a standard, nameless email which gave no apology but rather a generic t&c's quote which annoyed me!! It turned up on Monday - completely inconvenienced me due to their lack of clear and concise information. WHERE'S THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE? There was no clear details of their cut-off times for next day delivery just their sales gimmick to spend more money. I needed to order by 2.30pm!! The gave false details of the postal service because it arrived by DHL and wasn't collected by DHL from Machine Mart until the Friday!! They gave no apology for the inconvenience they caused. A decent company would of at least apologised perhaps even offered the refund of the 'next day' portion of the delivery costs, it's not like they don't charge enough as standard, at £4.99!! Won't use again unless I really really have to.

A absolutely appalling company behind the scenes who sell dangerous repaired items and dont care. I feel sorry for the decent staff on the front line with tied hands. I purchased 2 repaired items from the green tag repair bay (mig welder and 200l compressor) and both were faulty. The compressor was sent out with a faulty psi gauge and no pressure switch setting so it ran and ran until the emergency valve kicked in. It also leaked air at the joints... Excellent quality from their engineers! Left unattended this could have been a disastrous and dangerous scenario. Best of all machine mart merely told me to fix it myself and offered no apology at all until prompted. There attitude is so blasé its shocking. The welder again never welded right from day one, came battered out of shape and missing bits. The experience and inconvenience the customer service department inflicted on me was unbelievable. The working standards of their repair engineers is now the pits and the company could not care less about you. Its all about what suits them or tough. I was so disgusted with the repairs i had been given i demanded new or nothing... Machine mart refused on all accounts and i returned the welder and fixed the compressor myself rather than letting their donkeys loose on it again. As a experienced engineer from aerospace, automotive, marine and manufacturing backgrounds i urge you to not buy from this company anymore unless its a simple product. They do not have the technical abilities to safely repair remotely complicated equipment and such are a liability. I will be taking my case further to ensure this does not go unnoticed before someone gets hurt.

I ordered a shed online on 27/7/19. The delivery time, which was confirmed twice at the order point ,and afterwards, was 5-7 days. I have now been told 19 August is the earliest date for delivery! I contacted Machine Mart who said their is nothing they can do, if Shire sheds say it is later then that's your answer. They did offer a refund, which I did not accept, since I have a building project starting and the ONLY reason I ordered from Machine Mart was due to the delivery time. I have had to accept this date now, since I do not have time to arrange an alternative. Really poor service and clearly advertising a service that is not available.

Purchased a brand new Compressor for our mechanics bay. It broke down within an hour of using it. No Replacement offered. 4 Week waiting time before they can "repair it". Unbelievable , a new item that doesn't work and they won't replace like for like. "Under their terms and conditions they only need to repair the item" Garage closing for a month..,. Thanks Machine Mart for Nothing. If I could give this company zero stars I would.

Shocking customer service, 1 month so far try to get faulty item refunded/credit note. They still have item and my £100 and bluntly told me to sort it through trading standards! IM SPEACHLESS! Also cost me £5+ so far calling their 11p minute customer service

We went in to buy a saw table (£230). There wasn't one on the shelf but one had been delivered that morning and was on a little pallet in the shop. The shop was empty, there was 2 members of staff and all the assistant had to do was remove 4 small boxes off the top of the saw and sell us it. And he told us to come back in 2 hours!!!! We will buy online in future as Machine Mart obviously don't need our custom.
