“AVOID AT ALL COSTS: selling a shared ownership property. I chose them as their website said ‘meet a surveyor on site’ - they just sent someone to take photos. I complained and they did send a surveyor but I was told ‘they will not discuss the valuation with you’ sorry - I thought I was paying for this service and this was incredibly rude. I needed an extension to the valuation - they did not do extensions. I had an offer higher than the valuation and when I told them this - they valued the property at this (meaning I would lose out on the difference) - I was told they ‘have a duty to the housing association’ sorry, I though I was paying for this service. Or did they not value it properly the first time ……. In the end I got a local company to value it who also provided extensions at about £60 Shared ownership sales can take ages to go through you WILL NEED an extension. I have waited for my sale to go through before writing this review as I do NOT trust Mirus Surveyors. Save yourself the hassle and costs (basically paying for three valuations) DO NOT USE”

“Avoid these people like the plague. I used Mirus surveyors for a shared ownership valuation for a resale. They valued my property significantly lower than other similar properties in the building had recently sold for. I politely asked them to reconsider and provided evidence. They responded very rudely and unprofessionally and refused to reconsider despite clear evidence they were wrong and the fact they had used some very different properties as comparators. I later discovered that my neighbour, who has the exact same flat as us, had their property valued by a different company a full £15,000 higher. As we have progressed to selling outright estate agents are recommending putting it on the market for similar prices to others that are in the building are going for (£40,000 - £75,000) more. Even accounting for estate agents inflating quotes to get business, the property is clearly worth much more than Mirus valued it at. To top it off their rude and unprofessional attitude and responses were entirely uncalled for.”

“Rude and unfriendly. Asked a polite question as to why they were recommending a Full survey and not a homebuyer and the response was that I should just go elsewhere and I was to ‘not for them’.”

“They wasted a lot of my time asking for contact details etc which are freely available via google before responding "sadly we have to decline the instruction because our local surveyor is off work". High-handed and borderline rude.”

“I had survey done by them and not only they miss evaluated it by 15%! but made several mistakes in the actual report, even address was incorrect… Extremely poor services, once they take your money you dont hear from them at all, they never pick up phones or reply to emails.”

“Used these guys for a shared ownership valuation (which was massively overpriced) and when questioning the valuation was given a response of "we're not willing to amend your valuation or review comparable properties". Would not recommend.”

“If only the Survey had materialised before you have asked for our Feedback. We should have indeed received a Survey Report by now as we have been advised that we would have it but alas No Survey Yet!!!! Despite having paid in full!”

“Having used this company three months previously for a homebuyers report and subsequently not bought the property as lots of problems were found, I felt happy to use them again. As this property was older and more expensive I decided to go for a Full Building Survey, BIG MISTAKE ! The survey I got back was 36 pages of 'waffle' talking about restricted access to internal areas due to furniture, fittings and personal possessions, it was EMPTY ! It related to stairs and the upper floor, in a BUNGALOW ! A lower ground floor room which didn't exist ! Mentioned some defects and faults but did not say where they were In one section said there were no air bricks, in the next section talked about the air bricks, which are in every wall I wrote an email to Andrewn Mancias who replied that i needed to sort it directly with the surveyor, who I had included in the email,even though it was Mirus that I had paid. The surveyor wrote directly to Andrew suggesting I should be refunded and the survey cancelled. Which thankfully happened I received NO explanation and NO apology which I thought to be very bad mannered and unprofessional I would NOT recommend this company”

“Mirus were employed by a prospective buyer for my home on 18th December 2014, the surveyor and his assistant arrived late, so I had to rearrange a GP appointment. Following the report, the buyer withdrew as surveyor apparently said he did not think my loft extension, built in 1986, and cleared by local authority building control officer, was safe to put weight on. Also on emptying my built-in wardrobe, I found small holes in ceiling and a piece had been cut / pulled from beneath the shower switch. It appears as though the surveyor was trying to see behind plasterboard, without my consent / knowledge. I emailed the surveyor who denied this and as the prospective buyer has the report I cannot confirm if he made any comments on insulation etc., I would not allow a surveyor from this company to come to my home ever again and certainly would not recommend them to anyone.”
