First box was ok. Variety of produce, Went down hill from there. Last 2 boxes had some wilted, rotting produce. Last delivery, requested for Sat, because I am home to get it, came on Monday evening, late. If I had not looked outside would not have even known it was there. Found box smashed in, "freezer" pack just water & appx half of food not useable. No thanks, Misfits! Canceled future deliveries & was just notified I was charged again! Will be reversing that charge as I have documentation order was cancelled. Better quality, fresher produce by far at farmers market or even grocery store.

My choices sounded great! I have no problem with quality, however, I have not tasted anything yet. The box was heavy and I thought, "Oh my, I'm getting what I paid for!" Not so. In addition to 2 squash, green onions, 1 large white onion, small red cabbage, 1 teeny cucumber....I received 2 very small potatoes. One potato feels and looks like it has been frozen, very soft on the outside. I received one med. peach, 2 med red plums, 3 pears that must ripen.3 small apples, two of which are damaged, not bruised and look like something heavy was dropped on top of them. The carrots are plentiful. Plastic container of arugula was crushed in but salvageable. My order was $30.83 which included the $5.50 first time discount. I like the idea of helping to use food items that might otherwise be thrown away but my next order would be closer to $35. I feel that I can do better at the organic section of my supermarket. I will not order again.

While we're passionate about saving food, we're also very passionate about the customer experience. We rescue fresh sometimes funny-looking produce (too small, too big, superficial differences, and differences in shape) as well as "normal" fruits and veggies from partner farms and deliver them to our customers' door for up to 40% off. We pack all boxes fresh the day of pick up by our third-party shipping partners and expect you to receive them that way. We understand that you have some concerns regarding damage in transit but in order to look into this further, we will need some identifying information from you. Please contact us at https://www.misfitsmarket.com/contact-us with the email associated with your account or an order number so a member of our Customer Success team can assist you. Thank you so much!

Produce is not imperfect, it's marginal. Some was bruised beyond ability to consume. Not just delivery/packing issues. Some is just too old to consume. Majorly disappointed. Don't bother.

We pack every box fresh the day it is picked up by the third-party shipper and you should expect to receive high-quality food from us. We're sorry this did not occur this time. Our Customer Success team appreciated the chance to discuss your experience. We do hope you take us up on the offer to give us another try. I was subscribed to this service weekly for roughly two months. Out of roughly eight packages, i never recieved two (thrown out immediately by FedEx employees due to spoilage), three arrived with all goods inside completely rotten, and all remaining boxes but one would have around five items rotten upon arrival. This is largely in part to the poor way they package their produce for delivery. The box is not insulated properly at all, sits in a hot warehouse and a hot delivery vehicle, so of course the one ice pack they put in there isn't going to do enough to keep your food fresh. Customer service is spotty at best. A few employees really do seem to try and help, refunding the cost of the order when applicable of course. But what finally made me unsubscribe from their service was when the employee tried to blame FedEx for why my food didn't arrive to me. When I asked that he cancel my order due to repeated disappointment with the service and no longer being willing to deal with this headache every week, he argued with me and told me to just avoid getting food for a few weeks and try again. I would not suggest ordering from Misfits Market at all unless you live very close to their warehouse. I would not consider resubscribing unless they get their act together and create better insulated packaging, have stricter supervision on orders getting packed, and work out a better delivery system so that packages actually make it to the customer in one piece.

Thank you for this review. Your feedback is taken seriously here and we wanted to make sure to address your concerns. Whenever you contact our Customer Success team, they do share your concerns with the appropriate parties to ensure that any underlying issues are addressed. In your case, your experience is not what we would have liked and it was due to delays that were happening in transit. While we use eco-friendly packaging that is designed to keep our boxes fresh, extended delays in transit can work against it. During your last communication with our Customer Success team, they shared that the third-party shipping hub that handled the packages for your area was having delays for all packages. This was not meant to shift responsibility but to give some insight on why this order was delayed. We completely understood your frustration and we had been working on this with any parties involved to make sure your experience improved. Our support team was also glad to refund you and make this right. Since the last time you were with us, we have brought on new third-party shipping partners in different areas and are always working to provide the best experience for our customers. We do hope that you will consider giving us another try because we truly miss you. Please reach out to us anytime at https://www.misfitsmarket.com/contact-us.

First boxes were great--very fresh, fun to receive, though a few too many root vegetables considering it's the height of summer. Only real complaint was that sometimes soft items like peaches and cucumbers were packed beneath heavy items and were squished. But today's box arrived 5 days late and full of flies and rotten produce. A great concept gone wrong considering how often this seems to happen to others.

I am torn between a 2 and 3. My first box was delayed due to a power outage on their end. Received it on Saturday when it should have been Saturday. I emailed customer service to check but they never contacted me. Bag was water. Second box was huge but got repeats of butternut squash, celery, and jicama which we don’t eat along with a huge red cabbage which we threw out because by the time we got supplies to use it, it was bad. Finally got to customize third box but only got 85% of it and it was small, while others posted pictures of copious items that were all the customizations. Last box was meager and the cucumber turned rotten (2 days) before I could eat it. The last two times my romaine lettuce have been 4 stalks with the roots - not much help there if I wanted to eat it quickly. Add ons were sometimes already half rotten like tomatoes. Last box was only one on time. Them and FedEx don’t work well and as I get things from other places through Fed Ex, it’s not Fed Ex’s side. I found an alternative in my area, that while more expensive, is soooo much better all the way around.

The first few months were good. Then all of a sudden I started to not get what I had selected off their list. At first one item (celery) was missing, replaced with brussel sprouts. Had to find a friend who liked them. The next week no celery again and more items were replaced. Some were rotten on arrival and some I am allergic to. Reported the issues right away. The third week I again selected my items and got the email that my order was accepted. I got the box and nothing I ordered was in the box! I sent an issue report and got an email back saying I didn't order on time. I responded with a email that was dated 2 days before the cut off, that said my order was accepted and listed the items I selected. The response was "Sorry, 30% off your next box". Most if the last box was not items we like and couldn't find anyone who wanted those items so they ended up in my composter. I paused my subscription and thought about it. Came to the conclusion that I was paying for the selections I made and could no longer rely on Misfit to ship the correct order to me and it was a waste of money to continue my subscription. I contacted them and cancelled my subscription.

Vegetable box was nearly holding it was water logged the ice pack was ruptured going on all the food. Box was upside down everything was wet and clammy. I called and was hung up on 6 times then I tried again and the phone was busy over 15 minutes I gave up I want a full refund and a nice person to talk to about this incident. It'd terrible that this happened but the man who answered should of been kind to me

Thank you for posting your review. We're grateful you have given us a try and apologize for the way this order arrived. Our team uses packing materials intended to keep your box fresh in transit. We're sorry your ice pack was damaged in transit and leaked. Fortunately, the ice pack solution is nontoxic and is a specially formulated mix of two components (essentially food ingredients) that the FDA deems “Generally Recognized As Safe,” combined with water. While you can usually remove it simply by washing underwater, you may opt to give items a salt-water soak to thoroughly remove the gel. Our Customer Success team is absolutely here to help. However, our support team currently provides support via email and we do not offer phone support. Therefore, we're unaware of who you may have been talking to. We checked with our Customer Success team and did see where you sent in an email and it was responded to. We were more than happy to refund for any produce that was affected and we appreciate your patience as our team took care of you. Please let us know if we can be of further help at https://www.misfitsmarket.com/contact-us.

Some of my delivery were rotten. I paid extra for organic strawberries and blueberries but they had mold in them. I tried to save some by weeding out the bad but they were all bad within 2-3 days and went into my compost bin. Green beans black and mushy. Threw them in my compost too. I’m giving it one more try. If I get rotting food again I’m canceling.

My first box was great. The second box is a week late, and customer service has yet to respond to my requests regarding this matter. I was depending on this produce for my family. So incredibly frustrating!!!

Pros: The produce is typically good quality, with oversized/undersized "ugly" imperfections. But they still taste great. Cons: I've only received one correct box (size and selections) in the past 4 months with a biweekly subscription. Each delivery I've had to contact customer service for missing items, incorrect box size, and once with rotting produce. It's a great idea, but if you allow me to pick the produce, send what I pick. In one box I received 4 pints of grape tomatoes in place of four other items. My most recent (and last box) only had 1/2 of the correct items. If you want fresh produce and don't care about what you get, this is fine. If you rely on this, you can't plan meals and will most likely need to give away duplicate items.

On occasion, I have had a decent experience with them. However, the experiences have gone WAY down hill, with NO response from their support people. No return emails. No refund. Nothing. The ONE limp carrot I got last week was a perfect match for the rotten orange and the soggy slimy mango. Someone anther packing facility must have eaten my green beans, because they certainly were not in my skimpy box. Started out decent some months ago, and has gone downhill ever since. Borders on fraudulent. Refund? Oh no! Hot even a response! I'm out!

Because of Corona Virus, my previous box was 4 days late (not the 24-48 hours they said) However, my current box is 2 weeks late. My following box (which is actually supposed to arrive tomorrow) has been charged. I have written 10 emails to Misfits and not received a single response. I am so fed up with this company!!

The customer service is not good. They do not answer the phone or reply to emails and they said to DM them and their messaging was not set up to receive DMs. I received a box with damaged vegetables and fruit.
