“After an issue with what I consider to be an expensive rug I was unfortunately underwhelmed with their service helpfulness is rectifying the problem. Wouldn’t use them again.”

“What can i say the rug was fine but to get the rug was another matter. I waited a week to hear when I would receive the rug - didn't hear a thing so rang the number only to be informed by a pre-recorded message to send an email - more delay. Sent the email and within 48 hours the rug arrived. No apologies”

“Actual ordering process and speed of delivery was first class. However, I placed my order on the assumption that the size of the rug quoted was what I would receive. Unfortunately this was not the case. The rug was actually 5cm shorter in both width and length which made it unsuitable for my requirements. When I queried this I was told that a 5% tolerance policy exists (which is hidden away in the terms and conditions somewhere) and I could return the rug but at my own expense. Personally I think this is poor customer service as I didn’t actually receive what I thought I was ordering but my only option under the circumstances was to pay £14 for a courier to return the item. Once Modern Rugs received my return, I was refunded within 48 hours. In my opinion, Modern Rugs are a decent enough company but they really should stop misleading their customers by quoting inaccurate measurements. I wonder if their returns policy is a bit of a ploy to deter customers from returning unsuitable products. I’d be more than happy to pay for return postage if I’d simply changed my mind or decided that I didn’t like the product but it’s an insult to expect a customer to pay for a return when they haven’t received the goods as described on the website. I wouldn’t order from Modern Rugs again based on this experience; which is a shame really as they could be really good if only they got the sizes right.”

“After reading online that rug was in stock I then had to wait three weeks on arrival of rug. Rug itself is of poor quality based on the price. I expected quality to be better with price! I wouldn’t buy again from modern rugs!”

“Whilst I like the quality of the rug, the colour is absolutely nothing like it looks in the picture on the website and neither is the description of the colour accurate in the write up. It is described as blue, but in real life it is a dark teal green. (I have asked several people their view on the colour and they have all said green). I would have returned this rug, but I had it privately delivered to my home in Spain and it was too expensive to send it back.”

“Purchased 2 grey runner rugs of different sizes. However, when received the rugs were not the same and not the size ordered. Rang the office and was advised to return the rugs at my expense so they could ensure I was telling the truth. Refused to do this and agreed to send them a photo instead. Office emailed me upon receipt of photo and said replacement would be sent out and would be delivered on a Monday. The rug did not arrive until the Tuesday.”
