Spent a long time looking for a rug. Eventually found one an ordered it. Later I was contacted to say it was out of stock! I was offered some protection spray as compensation. I ordered another rug. This time it arrived. Unfortunately, minus the spray AND the anti-slip. I like the carpet. I should do at £600. Would I order again, perhaps I would. The delivery company we good. The driver deserves some praise for his effort to find my house on a new estate 10/10. Raymond Taylor

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We are currently mid-development of building a return service into our website. Customers will be able to arrange collection from any address to be returned to our warehouse and the fee will simply be deducted from the refund or exchange. I've used Modern rugs before and the rug I received was exactly what I wanted and the service was very efficient. Unfortunately my latest purchase was not so successful. The rug that I ordered was nothing like the picture on screen, it looked and felt cheap so I decided to return it. Foolishly I had assumed that the company would operate a returns service (my fault for not doing my research!) when I rang to explain I wanted to return the rug I was disappointed and surprised to be told that it was all down to me to find a courier ( they do supply you with a list of suggested carriers ) and pay for the return. Neither were easy, firstly I had to re -wrap the rug securely, this proved quite some task as the original packaging was no good having been cut to open it and finding strong enough packaging for a large rug is not easy believe me !!! Then I set to, to find a courier...... easy I had thought!!! but not so, it proved to be very frustrating, Having entered in the details a number of times to various carriers only at the end to be told the rug was too big for that particular carrier to handle or the cost was exorbitant. After a very frustrating morning I eventually had everything organised but not before I had paid a rather large sum to have a rug returned that I didn't want...... A very expensive lesson learn't . I decided to go to John Lewis for my new rug where I could see what I was getting and delivery and returns are free. A real pity that there is not a more customer friendly returns policy.

Rugs ok but delivery complete shambles. Took two weeks and the rugs ended up being delivered separately and left outside my house.

Wrong item supplied initially after 10 week wait (rather than the 10-14 days specified on website!) with no communication about the delay until I chased it. Correct item very good when we finally got it some 13 weeks after initial order but customer service is very poor.

The money was taken from my account immediately, however, delivery took a very long time. It got to the point where it had been nearly 22 days. I threatened to tell my bank to dispute the payment and the rug was finally dispatched. Will not order from this company again!

Site said in stock, paid for rug and then told it was out of stock. Had choice to refund but said I would wait. Told a new date that came and went. Had to chase to get delivered. whole time I was waiting the same rug showed on website as in stock. Rug is great now it’s here.

be 100% certain that you REALLY like that rug because it will be expensive to return it at your cost - or buy from a shop where you can actually see the rug or an online seller offering free returns.

when i received my rug, i unrolled it to find a crease across the rug. i know it hadnt been rolled up correctly and should have returned it but i thought by laying it flat the crease would come out. that was a few weeks ago but unfortunately it hasnt come out altogether so am a bit disappointed

The rug arrived very tightly rolled with creases that refuse to settle and smooth out. The item was of poorer quality than one would expect for the price. Very disappointed with the purchase and would not recommend the product or Modern Rugs UK - Graeme Chatham.

Multiple emails, not explaining dates or time of delivery Ignored last email saying we were away, and please don’t send rug. Returned from holiday to find the rug dumped in the front garden. Luckily it wasn’t damaged.

Upon delivery/unpacking this rug it was noted that it was made in India; alas, like so many things made in that country, the quality is mediocre. The parallel striped colours are wavy rather than straight and there is a flaw in the backing which produces a line in the rug approximately 250 mm long, and which is quite noticeable. Altogether disappointed with this item.

Bought 2 rugs.colour fine and quality regarding feel off rugs good.but been down over 3 weeks and very lumpy and not settled very well and when they arrived were damp.

Good Morning Lisa We are sorry to hear you are not happy with the service that has been provided to yourself. Looking at your order I can see this was due to the delivery lead time being 10 - 14 working days and we were unable to expedite this. As explained via email, the rug you ordered comes to us from Germany which is why we have the longer lead time. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.
