The rug that arrived looked nothing like the one I ordered. I would have compalned/returned it but currently I have too many other things things to worth about. In the photo and close up it had a pattern , however when it arrived it was completely plain. I have been happy with previous orders but this was dissapointing.

SHOCKING customer service BREACHING consumer laws. We returned a faulty rug and we were charged £20 for the collection service, because “it was company policy that as long as the rug we received was the one we ordered they wouldn’t cover return cost”, completely ignoring the fact that we returned it as faulty, not because we didn’t like it. Customer Service Rep Craig was totally ignorant to the situation. When explained that this was breaching consumer laws, we didn’t even get a response. AVOID AT ALL COST!!

Really Disappointed!!! The rug I received is very poor quality. Colours not as stated. Will not buy from Modern Rugs again.!!!

We had an issue with our rug and the customer service afterwards was just terrible. Basically told there was no guarantee at all on the product we spent hundreds of pounds on.

Ordered a rug but was told via email it was out of stock. Called to choose a different colour and it was ordered. Received another email to say out of stock so requested a refund. Waited and waited so contacted to see where it was. Was told it takes 3-5 days.... waited and again contacted and was sent an email saying refund issued that day. Still no refund no answer to my emails please be careful if you need a refund because you don’t appear to Get your money back..... won’t buy again

I wanted to return a rug which I purchased. I have initiated the online returns process and its been almost 3 weeks I am waiting to hear back from Modern Rugs. I've also called them several times and there has been no response on the phone eithrt. It keeps ringing and ringing. Very unprofessional. Not happy at all.

Returned rug as unsuitable but a fortnight later I’ve still not received a refund or been able to get a response to my emails. Impossible to get through by phone.

Disappointed. I was so looking forward to receiving the Kilry tartan runner for my hallway, but when it arrived I noticed that it didn't quite match with my expectations unfortunately. It looks like a second which has been pulled. You can see it along the back of the runner where it was clearly caught on the machine. Pity, as this was my first order and I had planned to go back to the Company in the future.

The lack of communication from Modern Rugs regarding my not inexpensive order is now quite concerning. I placed my order on 27/11/19 with delivery promised in 5-10 days. I cannot get through on the phone - I requested a call-back and still have not received one. The only update I received on my order was to remind me, after I made contact via the website, that my order lead time was 7-10 days (it was 5-10). This being the case, I should be expecting delivery tomorrow at the latest and I haven't received any further correspondence from Modern Rugs. Very concerning.

The stuff is never in stock. They take your money then email a few days later to say it’s ‘not in stock’ and will take a month or more to deliver.

Ordered a rug last week paid got email confirmation then three days later get a email telling me out of stock rang up and got a refund then the next day found them selling the same thing again at a higher price ring before you buy from these people

I have not had great customer service with this company. They rug arrived badly wrinkled. It was expensive wool rug at £279. The packaging was so tightly taped. I had to cut it all off. The rug is still wrinkled on the floor after over 2 weeks. I e never received a rug in this state before from anywhere else. I sent they photos of the rug and told them I was not happy and asked them for a free returns label. They advised I would have to pay the return, which is unacceptable due to the state it has arrived in as it’s clearly not of the quality I expected. They advised that I iron the rug and sent me a picture of ironing a rug. I am now seeking legal action against them as I am not paying the return. I would never buy from this company again.

Purchased 3 Polar PL95 rugs 80 x 150 at a total cost of £149.97. Rugs were extremely thin as you walked on them you could feel the weave under your feet. Rugs are very thin. I asked to return them and wanted to order 3 different thicker rugs and asked if Modern Rugs would do a delivery and collect at the same time with my new order. I was informed no therefore I had to return the rugs myself via a courier at a cost of £25. Therefore did not order my new rugs from Modern Rugs which is a shame as i have placed many orders in the past with them. Even had 2 made to order from Turkey from Modern Rugs. But will not be using them again.

Order rug just under £300 arrived damaged and dirty, was offered a return but the returns process isn't that simple as the rug is very difficult to repackage and you have to wait in all day for a courier.

Ordered a rug just under £300 arrived damaged and dirty, pretty sure it wasn't brand new. customer service only offered refund but the returns policy isn't that simple as you have to arrange courier and wait in all day. The rug is also big and heavy so difficult to repackage. The rug its self would have been nice but disappointed paying that much for a less that perfect product.

Placed an order in June for a rug which at the time was out of stock. I was made aware that the the stock was due to arrive end of August so I was happy to wait. When end of August came, no communication from the seller to advise when the rug would be dispatched. I made a phone call to them & was advised the Rug is due to arrive on the 30th, & they would ship to me next day for free. Guess what it's now passed 30th August again no communication from seller, I had made another call to them and been advised that the Rug is not in stock until the mid September now. I'm really dissatisfied and disappointed with the service. Im constantly having to chase for updates. Still waiting for my Rug, which shows as in stock online.... hmm.

Found the rug was much darker than the picture...was going to return but the cost was £19.95 to return....

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We will review the pictures online and improve the colour matching is as close as possible. A return for a rug of that size should cost just £8-£12 with MyHermes

terrible delivery experience with Modern Rugs - use UPS date agreed and not met, revised date arranged after hours of phone calls all massively exacerbated by phone ringing out for ages and ages then delivered on totally different day to different address and there only solution is to try to reschedule delivery so I have to take a 3rd day out of work to await the deliver. Whilst polite and seemingly helpful staff very little in way of actually resolving the issue to customer satisfaction.

Will never order from here again. Need a more robust returns system not just you deal with it. I am now left 120 out of pocket due to them not accepting my return as it was damaged in transit. Goods were covered but claim failed due to not putting it in a cardboard box however the rug came to me without a cardboard box. Anyway the rug I ordered was frayed at the edges which I did state on my reason for return. Followed their returns policy as to return the rug in original packaging but they refused at the door because the courier managed to spill a small circle on it! Never again been robbed!!! Don’t waste your time here because if you don’t like the rug you can be guaranteed you won’t get anything back 👍
