I'm generally not a review writer but it would be a disservice to the team at New West in Big Sky as well as Corey the owner down in WY/ID. I recieved the knives from Corey, and started using them daily at work before they opened their Big Sky location. Once they did open the location I have recieved nothing but the best customer service from their team. I have used their lifetime sharpening only a few times. As amazing of a perk it is, you simply don't need it as much as you'd think with their knives. One of mine has been used behind busy bars in Big Sky for 5 years. This knife has seen it all. Dave took a very well used and worn down knife and within a week was able to have it back to me as good as new. These knives as well as the company that makes them are a 10/10.”

“Some of the very best customer service I've ever experienced. I called for the processing of having some knives sharpened. They expalined how it works. I mailed the knives for sharpening. They called to confirm they received the knives. The knives where sharpened within 24 hours and they called to let me know the knives where being sent back. What I expected to take 2 weeks, actually only took about 4 days including mail delivery. New West Knifeworks is a great company to work with, I appreciated their extra effort.”
“Extremely disappointed in warranty service.
I initially invested in two knives in October of 2021, order # 14181. I saw the 6" Petty that was featured on Bon Appetit and purchased it in a set for $364. I invested in this expensive set because of the reputation for quality and the lifetime warranty. When the knife broke I was disappointed but followed the warranty procedure. I expected a replacement that would restore the items original value.
The initial customer interaction was smooth, I sent my knife in for service as instructed. However, what I received back was not the knife I originally purchased, but a significantly altered, less desirable version. My blade was ground down to address the break, fundamentally changing its design, ergonomics, balance and utility. The 6" Petty I received back is physically smaller and no longer functions in the manner I originally intended or paid for. This "repair" devalued my purchase. A lifetime warranty should not change the knive's Form and Function entirely.
This experience has been incredibly disappointing. It is failed to honor the implied contract of maintaining the products original quality and design. I have recommended your company to others. I am formally asking New West Knifeworks to take action. I would like my 6" Petty replaced in a reasonable time frame, I wait for a response.”
