“We first bought one as a trial for our dining room table, then upgraded to 8. We have a busy family with young kids and these durable chairs are easy to clean and difficult for the children to damage. In addition, the chairs not only look stylish but are just incredibly comfortable. This was a great find for us, so pleased it could also be made right here in NZ. 5 stars”

“Hello, Thanks for sending along this review. After using my carry on bag for one trip, it looks like I've had it for years. The bag does not wear well, which is disappointing, because I was hoping to have this bag for years to come. It would be great to have a replacement or duffle to compensate for this experience.”

“Like the style and feel. The main problem I met was the chair start to make noise after 1 week of use. I am around 185 lbs, and moderate use. So the situation is not matched with the price tag.”

“Love the styling of these chairs but the reality is, they’re incredibly uncomfortable. Tried to get info on a return and the hassle and cost to return is not even worth it. READ THE RETURN POLICY COMPLETELY BEFORE BUYING THIS CHAIR. The ‘100 day trial’ is nothing more than a scam in my opinion.”

Thanks for your feedback. Our return policy is clearly detailed on our website, as are our reasons. We are a Certified B Corp which means we chose to adhere to strict guidelines regarding how we conduct business as it relates to our commitment to our environment. We do our best to mitigate our carbon footprint. One of the ways we do so is to sell directly to consumers. Eliminating middlemen, or retailers cuts shipping considerably. Another way we try to mitigate our carbon footprint is by encouraging customers to purchase one or two chairs to try them out prior to purchasing a suite of chairs. We are happy to pay for shipping to our customers, and back to us should they decide the chairs do not work for them, we simply ask customers to limit their initial purchase to two chairs as another opportunity to lessen our carbon impact. We are sorry the chairs did not work out for you and we wish you the best of luck in your search for your perfect dining chairs.

“The chair is far too firm on the seat and is at a height that makes it uncomfortable to use if you are below 5’9”. I would not recommend this chair to people unless they need something that can fit in a small space and do an adequate job as an ergo chair.”

“I feel this is just another plastic chair, but much more expensive. It does not provide any more comfortability than other plastic chairs. The chair is already expensive and add a cover, it's more than what a plastic chair should cost. Without a cover, it may create indentations to the skin especially when wearing shorts. I will never purchase anything from Noho again because I feel your ads are over-hyped and the goods are under-delivered.”

“The idea behind these chairs is excellent, but the execution leaves you wanting. The chair height is too high, even for me, a 6 foot guy. My girlfriend (5'4) cannot touch the ground with her feet when she sits in the chair, making for an uncomfortable experience. Because of the shape of the chair and the lack of arms, if you can't comfortably touch the ground with your legs you feel very unstable in the chair, particularly because the seat moves as you do. Despite a high price-point the materials are rather unrefined and unfinished. I think it is great they are made from recycled materials, but there are sharp, rough edges along the chair that dig into the backs of your legs and are noticeable to the eye, detracting from the design and perceived quality. Maybe in a few years they will have the production and height more refined, but for now, these are a return for me and a pass for interested buyers in my opinion.”

“I still haven't received my chair and ordered it 25/06 and its now 12/07. I did receive a tracking number via email on 28/06, and after chasing up Noho I'm still waiting. Not sure why I have been asked to review yet.”

As per our update last week, we have had heavy demand and have been struggling to keep up with production. The good news a key raw material did arrive on Friday and production of the Ironsand chairs begun today. “I went out on limb and decided to buy this chair based on the design, and in hopes it was as comfortable as advertised. Unfortunately, its pretty much unusable without a seat cushion. You can feel the plastic supports under the seat, which is very uncomfortable. For the price you'd think it would at least come with the pad/cover. It has potential, but the price point is way off.”

“The chair was easy to put together, and I love the mission behind it. That being said, I cannot recommend this chair. I have begun developing some back strain while using this chair over the last two weeks. Most of this is lower back pain, exacerbated by leaning back on the chair. While the chair does flex, it offers little support creating a major strain on your lower back. Furthermore, the chair’s seat is incredibly uncomfortable. Sure, you could buy the pad for $100 more, but that doesn’t seem logical for a single chair that is already quite pricey. Again, love the mission and aesthetic, but maybe version 2 will solve some of the usability issues.”
