3) Off the Record matches you with the traffic attorney most likely to win your case

Once that's done, you'll be able to message your lawyer right from the app. And your lawyer will send you real time updates to keep you informed every step of the way.

Why choose Off the Record?

— Best value —

Legal fees to fight a traffic ticket vary greatly. At OTR, our lawyers charge a low flat fee with no hidden costs.

— Smart Match —

This is our magic ingredient. We don’t just match you with any random attorney. Our proprietary Smart Match approach analyzes past data and trends to match you with the traffic attorney most likely to win your case.

— Experienced —

We work only with the most successful, highly rated traffic attorneys in each city.

Thinking of not fighting that ticket?

On average, after your first speeding ticket, insurance premiums increase by $300 per year, for the next three years. That's $900 over the next three years. Contesting your ticket is the financially responsible thing to do! And since OTR gives you a full refund if your case is lost, you have nothing to lose.

Don't let a simple mistake tarnish your driving record and cost you hundreds in increased insurance premiums. Always fight your ticket!

On 1st hearing Attorney didn't show up, so when I asked for refund you guys refused to give me, because passed 24 hours. Attorney refused to go on trail and asked me to accept plea deal. If I wanted to accept plea then why would I hire him, I could have accepted plea without paying him. Ticket will go on my record but not point becuase prosecuter already told me on 1st hearing but I hired attorny, so he can fight and go off the record. I won't hire any attorney from this site. Have a nice day

Unfortunately, I would not recommend Off the Record to help you fight your ticket. I worked with them on a recent minor traffic ticket and found their service to be much more expensive than just paying the ticket, including misinformation, false advertising, and poor customer support. More specifically for those considering the service, keep in mind the Off the Record's primary tactic is to see if the officer will show up for your court date. If they do, you will be responsible for Off the Record's fee + the court / citation fee, which in my case ended up being 100% increase (double) what I would have paid for the citation and traffic school. This is where misinformation and false advertising come into play. I was told by their customer service that the fee for traffic school would be over $200, making the fees more agreeable. But after checking reputable traffic schools in California, I found there were several options for $20! That's a huge difference. Secondly, on their website, they state, "Unfortunately, not every case is resolved favorably. Our partner attorneys understand this and agree that in certain situations their fees will not be considered earned. In such situations, a full or partial refund will be issued." In contacting them about this situation, I would have expected them to discount the service to at least be more in line with that I would have paid for the original ticket and traffic school. But no, the customer service was not consumer focused at all and really made the whole experience pretty poor. I like the concept of the business and if they had the right info and stood by their value, I would recommend it. But in this case, I'd recommend you deal with it yourself or find a different service.

Terrible. I still had to pay my ticket fee, traffic school AND the Off The Record's fee. A total of $600+. Their 'sucess rate' is a scam. What a waste of time and money.

They did an amazing job getting the ticket off my record and I’m very happy with their performance, but they didn’t tell me that they did get it off my record and I had to go pay! I found it out myself by receiving a notice that I had to pay my fine 3 days before it was due. Then I get a text from off the record telling me that I need to go pay it 2 days after the due date!!! You guys almost screwed me

The best you could expect is for the company to connect you with an attorney. You could probably do better on your own through a google search. However, once I paid and was connected with attorney , I was told my case didn’t qualify for money back guarantee and had to waive it to be represented. Next, I was sad when I got several text messages and emails from Off The Record that congratulated me for settling my case with no points on my record and no increase for my insurance rates when that was not even close to my outcome. I was issued points that are very much reported to my record and I will 100 percent receive an increase to my insurance . If you ask me it feels like they lie to confuse you so you leave a happy review believing you got false results. Only to find out later that “ their system “ made an error after you have already left a positive review that they use to generate more business . Someone needs to check Off The Record .

Worst experience I ever had. NEVER AGAIN I tried on 2 occasions and they are not responsible. The only thing they care is the money. I had easy case and the lawyer never asked for any proof or documents on my side. They did not care for my problem. I have to call the lawyer 3 times during the period and they have to search my case and name for a while to figure out. I ended up paying more than the ticket originally or from the first offer I got from judge. Please stay away from Off The Record…

I won’t prefer offrherecord instead a local Lawyer is the best approach to fight for you. Offtherecord can assign any lawyer even from different state, who might not be familiar with the judge and prosecutor. For school bus opposite direction passing I ended up paying 1000 of dollars in charge and surcharge and just one point reduction, which will end up increasing my insurance by 1000$ a year for atleast three years. Please hire local Lawyer.

If i wanted to plea no contest i could have done that myself the fact that i paid for a lawyer on your service to do that sucks. Ive had other traffic attorneys ive found myself do a far better job at being an attorney and not just plea machine

Completely unsatisfied! I paid $195 for law office fee for the lawyer just to reinstate traffic school that I was originally offered for $311. In total I paid $460 so I lost $150 using this service. Communication was terrible the entire time with the attorney. I had to ask for an update 10 days after the court date because I heard nothing from her. I asked for a partial refund and multiple customer service representatives said they considered this case a win and would not offer any compensation. I do NOT recommend.

I feel pretty scammed. Yes, they do divide you a lawyer. However, I paid 150% the cost of my ticket, which I did happily knowing that I’d be saving by getting the points knocked off my record, saving me money in the long term. This was not the case… After paying for the lawyer, he was able to get the points taken off my charge. Great! Except, he was unable to get the fine taken off my ticket. Off the record considered my case won, because the points were taken off. Because of this, they will not allow me to be refunded or to put any of my deposit for the lawyer towards the fine. So at this point, I have paid nearly $400 for a $175 ticket that still remains on my record (without points). I feel pretty ripped off!

Service is decently affordable. Lawyer refuesed to communicate with me at all, but you get what you pay for I guess. Also, lied to me about getting my ticket reduced the one time he did resond to my multiple, calls, texts, emails, etc. Would have been better off not using this service at all. WOULD NEVER USE AGAIN.

Horrible service and had me worried they were even going to show up for the appointment. Lawyer left a very rude voicemail just because I asked a simple yea or no question about whether he had received the documents he requested. Last question I asked was if they knew about the court date I received in the mail. No response for over 3 weeks just 2 days before the appointment I had to go out of my way to contact support. Never using this service again. Waste of money. Just go to your court date and save the money.

The attorney I was assigned didn’t show up for court. After I drove 2 hours both ways, and sat in court for 5 hours, the State Attorney call my attorney twice with no answer, and the Judge and State both stated it was the attorneys job to be there. I can’t resolve the case without the attorney there because they already filed as my Attorney of record. Now I have to hire a different attorney and drive back to court in 2 months. This has already gotten to the point that it’s costing me more than the original ticket and Off The Record refuses to refund my money even though their attorney didn’t show up. They claim that their service got 2 points knocked off the ticket, but the Judge said that was already an offer before they spoke to my “attorney”, and even that offer I could not accept without the attorney present.
