How it works?

1) Snap a photo of your ticket
2) Answer a few simple questions
3) Off the Record matches you with the traffic attorney most likely to win your case

Once that's done, you'll be able to message your lawyer right from the app. And your lawyer will send you real time updates to keep you informed every step of the way.

Why choose Off the Record?

— Best value —

Legal fees to fight a traffic ticket vary greatly. At OTR, our lawyers charge a low flat fee with no hidden costs.

— Smart Match —

This is our magic ingredient. We don’t just match you with any random attorney. Our proprietary Smart Match approach analyzes past data and trends to match you with the traffic attorney most likely to win your case.

— Experienced —

We work only with the most successful, highly rated traffic attorneys in each city.

Thinking of not fighting that ticket?

On average, after your first speeding ticket, insurance premiums increase by $300 per year, for the next three years. That's $900 over the next three years. Contesting your ticket is the financially responsible thing to do! And since OTR gives you a full refund if your case is lost, you have nothing to lose.

Don't let a simple mistake tarnish your driving record and cost you hundreds in increased insurance premiums. Always fight your ticket!

The overall service is good. It would be better if the laywer is more responsive and let the client know about the strategies used for defending the case. I did ask while only received the results after the hearing. Also for other questions, it would be great if the response could be within 24 hours (excluding holidays and weekends).

I gave the service a 3 because it really depends on which attorney you get connected to. Some know how to properly fight the tickets and challenge jurisdiction and others do not. "Dismissed" to us means "completely dissmissed" in that after you pay Off The Record, you don't pay again. We had one ticket that was "dismissed" but we still had to pay court fees and take defensive driving. This is not an appropriate definition of "dismissed". We had a second ticket that was completely dismissed... with no more fees (yay). Be sure and study the law about the Transportation Code in your state to really understand that law applies to commercial drivers only...not to soccer moms in mini-vans. For your first real eye opener, look up "the purpose of speed signs" in that code. In Texas it says "Sec. 201.904. SPEED SIGNS. The department shall erect and maintain on the highways and roads of this state appropriate signs that show the maximum lawful speed for commercial motor vehicles, truck tractors, truck trailers, truck semitrailers, and motor vehicles engaged in the business of transporting passengers for compensation or hire (buses)."

Not the worst experience, OTR just finds local attorney’s to handle your case, so it’s just a proxy where they do the work for you and offer some kind of insurance against the ticket going on your record. Great idea in concept. Although, it seemed like the attorney they picked was slow to respond, like roughly 48 hours response time. Not a big deal on its own, however when it came time for my court date, I was summoned at 8am, sat until we were dismissed for lunch, ate lunch and came back ($5 for parking both times) and sat around until I was the last person in the court room. It was basically first-world torture because the bailiffs are very strict and authoritarian about phones being turned all-the-way-off. The cherry on top was: once I was the last person in the room, my attorney, who was a stand-in for the actual attorney, and was bouncing g between courtrooms all day goes, “what was your name again?” before he handed me over to the attendants to dismiss the ticket and left the room before I did. Just irritated me to no end being the last and forgotten client. Sooooo, I’ll be using the law firm I used in the past and take my chances next time.

It's waste of time and money to go through the processing, I should have done traffic school and paid the fine, and that costs you less money.

I received 3 tickets one of which was a criminal. This sight made it sound like I could pay my fee and get all three taken care of. Boy was I wrong. They said there's no need to go to court they would represent me so I missed my criminal charge court date and now have a warrant. On the two driving infractions they did get them thrown out

They removed the points for insurance purposes, which I can do that for a cheaper price by taking the driving course I still have to pay for the ticket, which I don't agree with the police report

The platform is easy to use, attorneys are easy to communicate but the result is not as expected. I ended up paying double the original fine (lawer tee + non-moving violation fine) and they claim this is a victory...

While they took care of my ticket, I had to bug them about updates. My attorney didn’t educate me on anything that was going on over the course of the 6 months my ticket was being “handled”, and I constantly had to follow up (which he seemed kind of bothered by), which gave me more anxiety than if I were taking care of it myself. I didn’t receive any paperwork from the court from my record saying it was “dismissed”, so for all I know, he just told me it was. Might have been more hassle than it was worth and next time I’d probably just take care of it on my own so I could be “in the know”.

Wasn't able to get my ticket removed completely but they were able to downgrade it to a non-moving infraction which is good. Saves me money in the long run but considering I still had to pay the full ticket price AND the fee for Off The Record, not fully satisfied.

I got a ticket. Didn’t know a lawyer so found your site. You gather the information quickly and it was easy. You referred my information to a law office. Unfortunately 2 hours away. However the law firm did handle my county. The ticket was reduced as was the fine. You did find me help when I needed it. Thanks

Good platform but the lawyer assigned had poor communication and never got back to me with the proofs I had requested for, I had to follow up several times and till today I never got them. I wish OffTheRecords provides such feedback to their Attorneys and starts taking customer feedback as reviews for the lawyers

I got my ticket reduced but my fine so much higher. I was never called before hand for my story and never got my chat responded to. Felt as if I had to contact them a lot and case ended up getting resolved early but high fine and no explanation for my story

Got my ticket amended to a non-moving violation. HOWEVER, continued to send unsolicited spam asking for reviews despite asking to be opted out. This is a violation of the CAN SPAM Act from what I understand.

The site made me feel there was a very good chance I would get my ticket fully cleared. Instead it got changed to a moving violation and the lawyer said this is what always happens. Essentially there was little chance of it getting cleared. Had to pay $150 plus $208 to off the record. Ended up costing a lot. Would have probably been happier if it was more clear up front about what would happen.
