“Terrible service, every month at least 3 days no service for Origin opticom service, Origin service blames Opticom and Opticom rudely says contact Origin as you pay them. No one knows who can fix it paying about $100 each month.
Changing to 4 G and ripping of their contract at least 4g is reliable .”
“Whilst the broadband was not bad and wouldn't complain. I signed up to origin and even called them telling them I was leaving the property a 8 months into the contract. They told me I'd need to pay, so I did. I ended up paying until the date it ran out for 18 months and cancelled with them. Now they telling me I owe them money even tho I cancelled. I didn't actually use the broadband for 10 months and still paid them as well that's the law and what was in the contract and obviously honoured this. After being a loyal customer and paying them all this time 6 months later they telling me I owe them 209 pound. Yeah that's right. This company is a con. You cannot end the contract apparently and now I have to dispute it whereby they don't actually get back to you and just get a debt agency company come after you even if you dispute it they'll come back after no investigation. Terrible company. Stay away from origin broadband and save yourself the hassle of them asking for more money and debt collection agencies, because they don't do their job and make their customers suffer no matter how loyal they have been to them!!”

“Some of the worst internet I've ever had - and it's supposed to be faster than any connection I've ever had. It started out good 12 months ago... now is completely useless to me
Constant drop outs, takes sometimes more than a minute to load pages and sometimes the browser times out completely. Thumbnails on Youtube don't load anymore... My mobile phone (on a 25mbps pre-paid service) loads browser pages much much faster than my Origin Broadband NBN on ethernet, so much so that I now use my phone to create a mobile hotspot when I am in need of better connectivity for my work!
I have a double service account - broadband and electricity. I have not had to pay electricity for two quarters, because they had been overcharging me for a different property I don't live at, so credited my electricity account for all of the excess charges. Origin are completely useless at all levels!”
“The worst internet provider I have ever seen.
It’s been more then 5days my connection date started and still they are struggling to provide me Internet. There is been a problem with Opticomm WAN for which a ticket has been raised 3days back and still Origin team is struggling to fix the issue.
I have called them literally 10times but no one could able to solve the issue.
Every time they say 24hrs is the ETA!!!!!!
From my experience guys, NEVER opt for ORIGIN as your internet provider!!!”
“I had an origin broadband For more that 2 years. Initially I had an 18 months contract. I moved my house after 1 year and they told me that they will offer me a new 18 months contract which I took. I moved again after another year. They gave me the same offer which I accepted initially. After a few days ( wWithin the 2 weeks cooling period of the new contact) I asked to stay on my contract and complete 18 months as I wanted to switch to a different provider. I was told no, the old contract is cancelled and I have to complete 18 months with the new contract. Their website says that if moving house there is a 29 pounds fee which I offered to pay. I was told that they don't do this and if I move I have to start a new 18 months contract so as they can recoup their costs. I can't move on the old contract which is basically false advertisement. My only options are to complete 18 months or pay the left over 6 months (170 pounds) from the old contract. But I can't finish my old contract in a new address as per their words " that is not how to run a buisiness". As far as I'm concerned, this is how you run a scam.”

After experiencing MANY NBN outages, called up Origin only to be told each time that there was NO NBN outages and it was a fault at my premises. EVERY time this was incorrect...
Just had another outage lasting more than 3 days....Origin made formal appointment and was instructed to remain at home on a particular day. When no one showed up, I called and was told that the NBN appointment had been cancelled days earlier but Origin did not bother to tell me.....
Previously, Origin did not bother to tell me about PLANNED NBN outages, so was unable to work for days due to their "oversight".
The level of Service is the WORST I have EVER encountered!!!
Do NOT sign up with Origin Broadband ....even if it is for free!!!”

“Had to call them because they didn't send the NBN HFC modem. We thought because we had Origin energy, choosing Origin Broadband would just make sense or something. Also had to call them to get the bloody thing working even though they said they'd handle it all by themselves.
Don't even bother with them if you're gonna play online on anything or use some kind of real time service (something like Remote Desktop). They have CGNAT forced in their network and you cannot opt out of it which causes serious issues for stuff like that. Wii U and Nintendo Switch online are literally unusable and other games have really high latency despite playing on local servers (Tested with Fortnite, has over 200ms ping on Oceania servers at *all* times).
It's been like 6 days and I'm already gonna cancel my plan with them. Do yourself a favor and use another provider. I'd personally recommend Vodafone.
Origin should just stick to what they do best: Energy.”

“So i started using origin broadband since 2 months, ever since i have been experiencing very bad signal. A technician has came to check the issue and he found a problem in our area connections.. so today i called the customer service to check the issue again, he was not helpful at all, saying that because the router is in the garage the signal is bad.. so i explained that even in the garage there is no internet connection. Then he refused to send anyone to check it.. when I asked to cancel the subscription he was like “110%, do you want to cancel it tonight?” … what a good service!!”
