About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

The products were good but after-sales service was ordinary. Had to return something and all I got was an email quoting the return policy and a surprise VIP account. No advice from the company that return was accepted and had to log into this mysterious VIP account to find that is where a store credit appeared. Ordered some products to consume the store credit and they advised they were ready for delivery the same day, via Auspost. 7 days later they had not moved, so chased them and surprise, the invoice was raised and the goods started to move. Finally arrived 14 days from order.

Wouldn’t refund despite “universal” mirrors not fitting the car and being a safety issue. Forced into store credit.

We purchased two Sirocco fans for our new caravan on line and we received them within a couple of days. This is the second time we have purchased goods from Outback Equipment and the service has been great.

Ordered an in stock item on the 6/12. Sent an equity email on 12/12 asking when it was likely to have its status changed from PICK to TRANSPORTED - no reply from email. Rang on 14/12 and spoke to someone who told me it would be packed and sent that day. Rang Monday 19/12 as status still had not changed from PICK. Was told item had been in stock the whole time and not sure why it hadn’t been picked and posted for 12 days. Requested refund as item was definitely not going to arrive by Friday 23rd for a Christmas present.

Still waiting for one of the items from my Order paid in full back in September, despite numerous follow ups and now a request for a refund on the missing item but i still have no idea on when i might receive the outstanding item. Competetive pricing was the reason i ordered, but in the future i will be looking for other more reliable suppliers.

The company is great to deal with and the staff helpful. The couriers they use however are absolutely hopeless. After 10 days our order was still not delivered and repeated phone calls to the courier company were either not answered or were answered by people who did not speak English and clearly could not be understood. Our order only had to be delivered 77klms. We then had to travel to the store and collect our order which cost us money when the delivery was included in the price we initially paid. The setback cost us additional time and put back the fitting by a professional booked to do the job The courier company downgrades this business to a very poor.
