About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

My reason for such a low rating was because I had to email and ring for progress on expected delivery dates. The response I received was nothing but spin from your customer service. During this time while waiting for the order, I remember it was your company we made a purchase in December 2020 for an Air Conditioner and Demetic 2 door fridge freezer. Again I had to ring your company as your delivery tracking system told me that you sent our order to another customer in Queensland. Then and only then did you send our order to Gippsland and I had to go and pickup the goods that were shipped from Dometic in Clayton Victoria. I wish that I had remembered this before I ordered my recent goods from you. I will never purchase from you and I will not recommend you to family or friends

Take the money for water level sensors and not ship them very poor service.I had very high rating for outback equipment in my past dealings. But you get ripped of you never trust the business ever again..

The product I ordered was never available, and after 2 months of telling me when it would arrive I asked for my money back, and got it so I could get the product I wanted from elsewhere

Took a while to be delivered as where out of stock. I was unable to install seem to be smaller I could see daylight in opperset corners have to get a caravan repairer to install

Purchased the product online. Waited 7 days and was told - Unfortunately, we are unable to fulfil this order for you at this stage. Due to this your order has been cancelled and submitted for refund processing to our finance team. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to be reflected in your original payment method. Sorry for any inconvenience caused! Took forever for the refund (whole process took 10 days) so went to the opposition and received the goods in 3 days of ordering it….

Ordered online with advert for the product saying in stock and shipped right away, it took nearly 3 weeks, even after emails and phone calls being told pretty much “ it is what it is” then once i requested a refund, miraculously it was shipped that day. Would not recommend to anyone.

Very disappointed! Ordered a water tank as it stated it was in stock online. After a week of no contact or emails regarding dispatch of water tank I called and staff told me they had it in stock and it would be dispatched that afternoon. A further three days until I got a notification saying it had been received by the courier. Ended up being 3 weeks to receive from when I ordered. All this to have one of the plastic welds in the tank to have a leak in it. Didn’t have time to ship back and wait longer for another to get shipped back out as a trip around Australia was already planned. Very disappointed to be honest!

Outback Equipment have a great range of gear at competitive prices, however their delivery times are extremely poor. Consistently just over 2 weeks from placing an order. IMO this is miles off the pace and so I will no longer use them. A shame really.

My order was split into 2 deliveries. When l received the parcel it was missing a fitting. Call and was told to wait until the second delivery of water pipe was received to check if the missed item worth $12 was with it. I played the game and then had to send pictures showing that l had received 1 instead of 2 ordered. Another eeek went by. I finally had to request a return authority to send the whole order back as l could not do my install. Final another week until l received there missing item. I will never use this company again. They are slow and incompetent.

Price was competitive, Communication was very poor after my order "usally ships in 7 days" was 3 weeks late, All I expect is some clear and accurate updates when there is a delay and not to have to chase up the supplier looking for one

Took almost 2 weeks before I got a shipping number, when the package arrived there was no bubble wrap or extra cardboard just the shocks in the box, they were scratched and dirty

Products were fine, but dispatch times are just too long. I placed two different orders. Second one was 11 days from order to dispatch. First order was dispatched 21 days after ordering. Only part of it was shipped. The balance took a further 9 days to dispatch. My second order took 10 days from order to dispatch.

Shipping timeframes are very poorly managed. The timeframe advised on the website for items was not near close - took over a month for 1wk dispatch item. No updates provided. When we contacted support the only reply we got was “it will be on its way soon” no further contact at all. After waiting a month, 1 item arrived broken as it was simply wrapped in black plastic to ship - not boxed, no packaging/protection, it wasn’t an expensive item but honestly the wait time was ridiculous and after contacting support again the only offer was to return it for a refund or replacement….after the long wait time to get it why would I want to do that again! Really disappointed with the service and we won’t be buying from here again. Since our purchase we’ve spoken with a family member who had the same experience.

Tyre deflators not accurate 20 psi was 12 and blew off the valve a few times. Don’t bother.

I made a purchases and it was for delivery. I finished the payment and then realised I forgot something. So I made a second purchase within a minute or two of my first purchase. I made a note in the delivery section that this item was to be included in the first purchase delivery, I provided the invoice number for the first purchase. The seller did not send the last item and has told me they will not be sending it. this is why its a 2 star review.

Hi Fixa, Looking at your order and communication with our customer service team we can see that your original order was already dispatched before you had reached out regarding your second order and after speakinng with you to organise the shipment of this you had refused to pay for the second order - due to this fact the order was cancelled. Most Goods are not kept in stock, they say ships in 7 days but my order did not leave in 7 days, was then told 7 working days, still did not leave after 7 working days. I assume they were putting together a larger order from Lowrance so I had to wait. Some of the staff I delt with were arrogant, not apoloogetic. My goods were shipped over 14 dys after my order and I got offered a $100 voucher but that is no use to me as I will not shop there again
