About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

I ordered, by phone porta pac for my motor home.The sales person was very pleasant and suggested a bulk order would be cheaper for me. The transaction was $170. All done. I immediately received an email that there was a 5 day delay! A week later same issue. 4 weeks passed and i was given the runaround. I eventually received it after 6 weeks! Outback equipment had my money gaining interest on the short term money market!!!! The salesgirl must have been aware that the item was not in stock and i should have been notified of this issue!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!! Very very disappointing.

When I ordered it there was no indication you were out of stock. The silence from your end was deafening. I had to call to find out when it was coming, only to be given the "out of stock" greeting. Meanwhile, my inbox was being bombarded with buy!, buy!,buy! emails. When the goods finally arrived, I unsubscribed. Apparently, that didn't really mean "unsubscribe" as I now have this unsolicited mail asking for a review. My two star rating is as above.

sent wrong D035 security hitch. Had to go and buy another hitch prior to leaving on trip. sent hitch back for refund. Had to go out to shopd and find another type of security hitch. No refund has yet been processed

When first ordered assumed they were in stock as per website. Then told after a few days they weren’t. Then told a week later they were sent, only to be told another week later they were not. It took over 4 weeks to finally get items. Though through all this time the online store showed them as available. Very unhappy with service.

Held my package for almost 2 weeks Tried to call back as the voice mail says but no one answers Finally got to answer the phone and got it sorted So unnecessary

My experience with Outback Equipment didn't go well. Three weeks out from going on a caravan trip I placed an online order for a water tank guage anticipating that I had allowed sufficient time to receive the order and install it in the van prior to leaving. Two weeks later a cable arrived- not the guage. I contacted OE and was told that the correct part would still arrive in time to be installed before departing on the trip. It didn't. A week into the trip it arrived. I installed the guage after arriving home which was very annoying given the caravan trip was away from civilisation and would have ensured confidence in how much water we used.

Nothing wrong with the product. Ordered and paid extra for Express post. Got the order confirmation, but two weeks later hadn’t heard anything more. Sent a follow-up email and then two days later they sent it replying to my email telling me it was sent, but that’s it. Nothing about why, like was waiting on supplier or apologies for the delay, sorry about the express post with lack of express dispatch. That didn’t feel like good service to me. Question below asks if delivery was on time, actually just for fun, after the dispatch delays Auspost then sent it in circles for an extra couple of days :)

The equipment was good, but disappointed when I ordered it and unbeknownst to me, and not until I queried after two weeks of nothing, that it was a back order item (I his was not communicated at time of ordering). It took 3 1/2 weeks before my product arrived. Would not order from there again based on this first experience.

Very bad on order info. Worst we have had. Back order no notification. 3 different dispatch dates. Differing information on order status. Instock, in store, coming from supplier. Very frustrating system for customer.

I have purchased a lot of items (thousands of $$) from Outback Equip over the last year - with generally good service and quick delivery. In the last month or so this has changed. Ordered approx $1500 worth of stuff on two orders in the last month and both went AWOL. OE customer service response has been woeful. Best they could offer was its been dispatched. One order from 21st Jan with express delivery to Tas still AWOL. OE say it was dispatched - Aust Post say it was never collected ?? Still got a lot of stuff to buy for our lap - now looking at other vendors.

Hi sorry but the experience was not great. I placed an oredr and aftre waiting a week for a tracking number rang and found out you did not have the Mirrors ordered in stock and had no idea hwen they were coming. I asked for a refund and that took forever in coming back. You have some work to do.

The first item was dispatched 1 day after placing order, with Aramex. You provided minimal help tracking it after 10 days . After 18 days due solely to my efforts Aramex admitted losing it. I was told to contact Outback Equipment and send copies of their emails, this was met with more delays and excuses, I stated that if the item was resent Aramex was not to be used, again you sent it with Aramex and again they admitted it was lost. So now 34 days latter I receive an email stating my payment is being refunded. I ordered the item from a Victorian company and had it here 48 hours latter. I will never use Outback Equipment or anyone who freights with Aramex again, 2 star rating is generous and based solely on the original dispatch time. Dave Griffin

Of the tackle boxes I purchased one of the removable boxes the lid has not been made correctly and won't close making the box useless...could you look into this please?

Well to be honest i had to replace one of the compression rivets at the l/h/s antiflap bar that joints two parts together it has the 6mm thread as it was stripped of its thread. Quality control could be better. Regards Peter
