About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

Whether you're planning a weekend beach trip or the big lap around Oz, getting prepped can feel like a mission. We're here to make it simple. From expert guides and part finders to trusted advice and helpful customer service, we’re your starting point for any off-grid adventure.

We only stock gear we’d use ourselves. From brands like Aussie Traveller, MSA, CampBoss, BLA, Hardkorr, Superior Engineering, Tuff Terrain and Outback Explorer. With over 250 brands on our shelves and growing, we’re proud to support fellow adventurers at every stage of their journey.

“Very disappointed, ordered a tail gate assist and received 2x 43L water tanks, not what I ordered and never got a reply for help service”

“I ordered some ratchet straps over a month ago still haven’t seen them and they refuse to respond to emails now my emails are being blocked. Would not recommend purchasing off this company very poor after sales service.”

“Ordered Clearview Mirrors which were not shown as out of stock. After many weeks of no show I contacted Clearview who stated no Ford parts available to build the mirrors for about 6 weeks. Cancelled my order and refund was agreed. Nothing received to date except constant empty promises that finance department is being followed up. Make up your own mind but imho its a real gamble dealing with this mob. I am a retired pensioner and $1450+ is a lot to be missing. I note in the reviews that the only responses that the company make are to good reviews… how poor is that! Its now 3+ months since my “purchase”.”

“One of the worst equipment companies in Australia. Horrific communication. Over two months to even get any update on our order to then having to just cancel the order as no further info was provided. Beware before using this company it is extremely difficult to get an email back or get them on the phone.”

“I have ordered a product online with this company and paid in full, my error! Expected delivery was 5-7 business days. So far it has been 3 weeks and even after sending 2 emails I am still in the dark. I have missed giving this to my husband for Father's day and would really like to know if they can supply it soon or I want my money back. Surely this company can return an email enquiry. I certainly would not recommend this company.”

“2 months after I placed my order the product had not arrived. Outback then agreed to cancel the order and three weeks later I am still waiting for the $515 refund with no date from Outback. Be very careful when dealing with them.”

“well all the one stars say it all, should have read this before i ordered my caravan cover, the voice on the phone is so annoying sounds doggy, they say the owners started in a garage they should have stayed there, they are asking what went wrong to assist them to help future customers looks like this has been going on for months and still no change, come n get it together. this sounds like this company should be out the back.”

“Honestly worst customer service. They take weeks to reply to emails, don't let you know when stock is delayed, and expect you to just cop it. Dodgy team with no respect for their customers. I have no idea how these guys are still at 4.2, I reckon half these reviews are fake.”

“AVOID OUTBACK EQUIPMENT. Appalling service. I ordered and paid $150.92 on 18 August after specifically checking stock BEFORE ordering. Their service team confirmed IN WRITING that the MSR pot was “currently in stock” and “can be dispatched within 24 hours.” 11 days later: • No dispatch • No tracking • Repeated emails unanswered • Repeated phone calls unanswered • $150.92 still sitting with them I would NEVER have ordered had they not specifically confirmed the item was in stock and ready to dispatch. I’ve now had to resort to email, phone, Facebook and Instagram simply trying to get someone to respond. Absolutely unacceptable. Save yourself the frustration and shop elsewhere.”

“This company is shocking, I should have read many of the other real reviews. I purchased a towbar wiring kit and paid express post... long story short nearly 20 days later and no communication from these clowns, I opened a PayPal dispute and got my money back. Dishonest, lazy and zero care given. Do not buy from these people.”

“Our family have used this company on two occasions in the past 8 months and have been very disappointed in both transactions. Nothing seems to be in stock and you have to chase and chase to get goods you paid for. Ordered a water tank in June, chased early July and were advised September delivery. When we tried to cancel the order it got sent very quickly. We will not use again.”

“Very dodgy and deceptive. Not responsive and doesn't deliver. Chased up an item over months and never got it. Cancelled and demanded refund after 2 months and had to threaten with consumer law. Took 21 days to get a refund and had to chase that up as well. The "dispatch in 7 days" type advertising is completely fake as are many of their 5-star reviews.”

“Sailing up the east coast of Australia I wanted a boat part and ordered it to a marina up the coast about a couple of weeks so I could collect. After 8 days I had no notification of it being shipped and was about to arrive at marina for a few days. Contacted Outback and got an email next day item had been shipped... too late for me. I emailed them and they said nothing they can do, I tried to get auspost to redirect but couldn't. so my stuff is lost, stuck at the marina! 8 days to ship something and needing a reminder, tells you about their systems and processes. I wouldn't recommend using them.”

“Worst Company to deal with No Customer Service Takes your payment and fails to send goods as promised. “Absolutely disgusting customer service- 8 weeks waiting for order, have been told twice our order was in and when we have arrived to collect, have been told they can’t find it and will have to order again and wait. Went in on a Saturday to get refund as we paid cash then to be told they can’t refund cash on a weekend- totally incompetent and I don’t know how this company can continue to operate - will never purchase any items from this company again and should have checked the reviews before purchasing items as it seems this is the service this company gives”
