About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

I received my order a week ago it was the wrong order so I reached out to outback equipment ,was told to take photos which I did and haven’t heard as to whether they are going to send me the correct order or refund my money .In my eyes that is disgusting customer service wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone .

Ordered 3 items nearly 1 month ago and stuff haven’t received my goods, sent 2 emails in regards too my order with no response. Won’t order from here again very disappointed as I have heard good things from YouTube sponsors

Your order was sent within the timeframe originally advised at checkout, and we can confirm that both of your emails were responded to. It’s possible our replies may have ended up in your spam or junk folder, and we would recommend checking there in case these responses slipped through. We do recommend online that orders being sent to WA go through express shipping to assist with speeding up this process, as we are a Brisbane-based company; however can see that your parcel has been marked as delivered last week. said 1-6 days delivery, it took 11 and no one bothered to call and let me know about any delay, I had to call them to find out what was happening with my package, when it did finally arrive it was the wrong part then they would not dispatch the correct part until the wrong was back in their warehouse. Worst experience I have had with an online order. Never again Outback Equipment. This debacle will be talked about around many camps down the track.

Ordered an item and paid extra for express shipping. I called up to check eta as it was a critical item that we needed before we left for our holiday (hence why we paid extra for express) and was advised that even though you pay extra for express shipping doesn’t mean they will process the order quicker. I then said can I cancel the postage and drive out and collect myself and was told it was out of stock and they are waiting for it to arrive. No where online did it say it was out of stock - if I knew that I would have gone elsewhere. I was then told I should never reply on the stock listed online and should always call first - no where on the item I ordered did I see that this is recommended, otherwise I would have called and gone elsewhere when I found out it was out of stock. How is your website that bad with stock availability that it relies on customers having to then call you to check - and if it is that bad, why do you not have it stated very clearly near the ‘add to cart’ button or somewhere else very clearly marked. So after all this I asked, since my order hasn’t been processed and the item still isn’t in stock, can I please have a refund so I can buy the item elsewhere (we r running out of time now). I was told no, I can only have store credit or exchange as it hasn’t been over 5 days for processing yet. So now I don’t have the funds to buy the product elsewhere and just have to wait and see if it actually arrives - oh and am also out of pocket for the extra I paid for express shipping for it to arrive before we leave.

Took months to arrive, asked for a refund, was the sent half the order and refunded the rest, even though the half the was refunded was needed for the half that was eventually delivered.. phoned to see what was going on which was only then told that half the order was refunded. Didn’t respond to emails. Not impressed

Worst experience buying online I’ve had. First was a tow bar I elected to pickup the delivery. I didn’t realise until I got home that they had only given me half the order. Took another two days before they sent me the rest of the order. I gave them another chance and bought a complete suspension kit, this time I thought I’d have it delivered. The delivered half the right order and something completely wrong I received a completely assembled front set up and an un assembled front setup. Countless emails, a bunch of phone calls and I finally have the rear suspension parts I originally ordered. 1 holiday and 2x mechanic anointments cancelled. Customer support was outstanding! They did do a really good job… however their logistics is absolute garbage!! What should have taken 1 week has turned into 4! All I got was a sorry and that’s it!

Purchased a light bar online that appeared in stock, took over a week for outback equipment to tell me that it wasn't actually in stock, instead of a refund they offered me credit on my account, or store credit. Took a few emails to actually get a refund.

10 days after purchase, followed up to be told it wasn't dispatched yet as one item was out of stock. Asked them to cancel/refund that item and send the rest. When it got here, I was missing one item but had received a box of random items i didn't order. I reached out and they refuse to send the correct item until I lodge the incorrect items at a post office. I am not physically capable of just dropping everything to get a heavy box to the post office due to a mistake I did not make. I am happy for them to send a courier to collect the incorrect items, sure, but I cannot get to a post office. They are firmly refusing to supply the correct item, or return my money. The incorrect items are worth much less than the item I am missing, so it's not even a sneaky win. I am yet to receive any refund for the initial out of stock item. I spent $1052 and am only in possession of approximately half of that value of my order. Have had to lodge payment disputes and fair trading complaint. AVOID!

Caravan and trailer covers tear quite easy and tie of ropes become very brittle after on a short time. These covers weren’t made to stay out in the weather. Will be sourcing a different brand to this company

I couldn’t use the product I bought as it was misrepresented as comfortable and was so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep on it. You wouldn’t provide a refund. I will never buy from you again. The product was the Oztrail “comfort” self-inflating pillow

My door blind arrived without the fit kit "screws and brackets", this took way too many phone calls and e-mails to eventually get the missing parts sent to me, lots of people making callback promises and e-mail replys but thsi never happened.

If I could give 0 stars, I would.. My product arrived with missing parts. When I contacted them and asked for the replacement part to be sent express, they said they would. It took 3 more days before they even posted it, and they didn't ship it express. When I questioned this, they LIED and said it was sent same day, express. But I had tracking to show evidence it wasn't!! So then they offered me a store credit. When I asked for the same dollar amount to be refunded as compensation, they flat out refused, numerous times. Wasn't worth the fight, so I accepted the store credit (yay for making them more money... A holes)... But anyway the customer service was RUDE, LYING, and flat out atrocious!!! Never again. Ever. Ever. Ever.
