About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

I ordered a cover for my boat, the site never said it was out of stock. Got no updates from out back equipment after a week tried calling 8 times and sent 4 emails, with no reply, drove from the Sunshine Coast to the warehouse in Acia ridge to be told it wasn’t in stock. Explained I just drove 3hr round trip which could have all been avoided if they answered my phone calls or emails. Won’t be ordering from outback equipment again.

31 day delivery time little to no correspondence from your company at all, could not contact the courier at all it was quite a bad experience overall.

I will Avoid Outback Equipment in future. I received remarkably slow delivery, no communication of why there was unforeseen delays. It seems they sold me equipment they didn’t have in stock to sell? Poor communication when I queried the delay and a really disappointing experience trying to contact them for an explanation. Phone system was basically useless and a very unproductive computerised menu system ensured I was disappointed before I even managed to not get through to a person. When I finally got a call back days later, the staff were quite removed from engagement and it seems to me that low pay for the workers has attracted low quality effort from an over worked crew. Please don’t contact me again.

I couldn't get the shower to be able to regulate the heat , it stay always on the hottest side and when I turn if down the temperature did not move .

Terrible experience, I ordered a pair of water tanks on 8th December, leaving plenty of time for delivery and install into caravan before Christmas, allowing plenty of time for Christmas crazy period regarding postage/shipping, etc. I thought they were in transit, when I got email on 16th of December to let me know they had just been shipped to me. I emailed Outback Euipment office straight away to ask that they make sure they go on that day (the 16th), as obviously they had sold them to me when they were out of stock, never letting me know, and now they're already late. They said ok, they would make sure, but then didn't get on the truck until the next day (17th Dec). After waiting, waiting, waiting, they arrived on January the 9th, after I had to open a case with courier company. Pretty poor experience overall. Good prices, but don't rely on getting anything within reasonable timeframe.

Purchased 2 adjustable tables for a Xmas present and they arrived damaged. After many phone calls unattended get through and finally did, and 2 emails completed with invoice and pictures of damage and and completed return refund forms and a response said 3 to 5 business days( not including public holidays) I still have had no response So not happy Jan

Not a great experience, purchased an esky that came in a flat box and when popped out looked like it had fallen off the back of a truck. Left it open for 2 weeks and tried to add things in to push it out but remained damaged. Return process took 4 weeks to resolve and was only allowed a credit. I had purchased another esky in the mean time from this same provider as it was a Christmas gift and I was still not able to get a refund. Very disappointing, won’t be purchasing from this site again. I have emailed numerous times but they have just stopped returning my emails. I would have loved to just keep the first purchase but couldn’t give it as a gift in the state it was in.

We purchased a Companion evaporative cooler for our RV from Outback Equipment and wish we hadn’t. The cooler is ok- as long as it isn’t very hot. Kind of defeats the purpose doesn’t it? We need a cooler that cools when the temperature is 30 or more. Even in our compact, well insulated Sprinter van the cooler was unable to knock the temperature down even one degree! That’s not a typo - not even one degree. I sent Outback Equipment an email voicing my complaint more than two weeks ago and haven’t had a response. Not happy. Not with the cooler and not with Outback Equipment. We’d like a refund!

It took 3 weeks for my original order to arrive, I ordered 8th Dec so to be expected with the Christmas rush. The item I ordered was the incorrect size. It arrived 6pm on Christmas eve, so quite a few days before I could speak to anyone. I emailed with my issue including photos and only recoeved the generic acknowledgement reply. I finally phoned them and spoke with someone who was helpful and emailed me a return slip. They could not ship the correct item until the original one arrived back to them, which took over a week despite me posting it the day I got the return slip email. They then email and say they don't have the correct size in stock and they would have to source it from their supplier. I am still waiting 6 weeks later for my item .

Really disappointed in the service from Outback equipment. After ordering an item that was listed in stock on 7/12/24. I didn't actually recieve it until 7/01/24. I was told that my order was dispatched on 11 December 2024 via Couriers Please but this wasn't the case and the supplier had only booked the pick up then I could have simply ordered it from the vendors site rather than through Outback Equipment but I foolishly understood that in stock meant in stock at the retailer but with Outback equipment they mean it is in stock at the manufacturers site. I would have expected some communication that the item was delayed or the reasons but we got nothing. The result meant I didn't get the item for Christmas and actually used it for Christmas like I intended. Based on the experience I am not sure I would use Outback Equipment again.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had buying online. Been like pulling teeth to get any of my items. I’m still missing a part of my order even though I was guaranteed it would arrive before a certain date when I called to find out where my order was because it had been a month and I hadn’t even received tracking for shipping. I ordered this back in November and it’s mid January and I’m still waiting.

Have had both good and bad experiences, but the bad outweighs the good. Ordered some parts in October or November and paid for express shipping. Turns out the parts weren't available or dispatched for about 2 weeks, and nothing on the website indicated they weren't available. When the parts turned up, they weren't as the pictures showed and again nothing to say the images were only indicative. I contacted OE asking how to return them and had no reply. I've since phoned 3 times with no answer only a message to send an email. 4 emails so far have gone unanswered. Would not recommend.

Ordered 2 of the same thing by mistake they said I’ll only get store credit and the items weren’t in stock anyway so 3 week wait even though they were marked as in stock 3 phone calls later and a threat to tell PayPal to reverse the transaction only then did I receive a refund I’ll never shop with this mob again period

My experience is that Outback Equipment’s products are more expensive than other retailers, and their refund policy is rigid and unfair, even for immediate cancellations. Their business model seems focused on short-term profits rather than customer satisfaction or building a loyal customer base for repeat sales. I won’t be purchasing from them again and recommend others look for retailers that value their customers.

Items were fine, delivery took 3 weeks hence the one star rating. Communication was ordinary. Same with my previous order, only order off this company if your in no hurry for your products

Hi The parts were what I wanted, but the service I got from you guys was an absolute disgrace. I ordered the part on the 1st of December and i did not receive the part until the 28th December. I rang up on Friday the 6th and your customer service said that the part had been picked up all ready by the courier which was wrong as the confirmation said it was picked up the following Wednesday 11th December. I called on Tuesday the 10th and they said same thing it was already picked up which clearly was wrong again, after that I rang up numerous times and all you kept blaming was transport and Christmas, which is unacceptable as I ordered parts from far nth Queensland and Perth and received them within 2 weeks which was before Christmas as was needed. I asked your customer service to get back to me with an answer when I would be receiving the parts and had no reply from them.

Took one week to receive an email to confirm they had my order. Couldn’t give a timeframe as to when it would be sent out. Order cancelled.
