I am not one for leaving reviews but with pc world, i have made an exception. everything from I house customer care, to phone support, warranty, etc is as bad as I have ever experienced, my review is not a one-off experience but an accumulation of awful customer care, I will summarise below. 1. sold faulty laptop and refused to replace as I had it over 30 days even though I paid extra for a replacement service. 2. rude members of staff 3. for some reason I went in on Xmas eve into the Friern Barnet branch only to be ignored as I stood at the counter to wait for service. 4. poor support on the phone where they couldn't find the product I purchased in order to offer repair. 5. after having to flag down a member of staff to ask if I could purchase an Alexa, I was told it was sold out, they were to lazy to put sold out stickers on their products, after deciding on a different product i once again stood by the product while members of staff ignored me, after abruptly calling out"excuse me" to another member of the pc world team i then asked if i could have a google home, once again i was told it was sold out, again no sold out sign. these are the most recent issues with pc world. I have dozens more. avoid this company, there are many companies that offer the same products that actually care about their customers.

I have purchased quite a few items over the past few years from PCWORLD and haven't really had a great experience over that time so have decided to make a point if buying elsewhere in future. When I first shopped at Currys or Dixons I really felt welcome and felt that they had a genuine interest in my puchase making me happy, and great after sales service. The impression I now get is that I have walked into some type of monstrous machine that is only concerned with overall profits whatever the cost. The TV staff are individually trained by different manufacturers with the outcome of customers being guided towards the product that whoever you speak to is promoting. I spoke to three different sales staff who each stated that their TV was better than what the other two were selling !! With regards to pricing, how is it that the country's leading seller with a virtual monopoly and massive purchasing capability can only price match or slightly undercut prices? You only have to read all the genuine online reviews to realise this machine is rolling downhill without brakes. Black Friday! Their attempt to copy a genuine US sale with another scam that makes people think they are getting bargains when in fact you are only a pawn in their manipulated sales. In the U.S. the stores have made their profit figures for the year so they give great discounts, here it's just another excuse to up profits. I've had enough of this and am jumping ship and I would advise anyone else to do the same.

When buying from Currys, check out the after sales counter first. The sales people offer you the moon on a stick, but in my experience if your not a geek like themselves, will talk down to you, or try to humiliate you. I contacted head office but it was a waste of time.

What went right more the case Staff avoiding engaging with customers at the store, false promises of return dates which were critical, no contact and left to me to constantly chase, requirement for questionnaires that were required to complete repairs that should have been done in store and I wasn't asked, a complaints procedure that when chasing critical return dates sends a generic reply that 'complaints are replied to within five days - and it took eight ! Overall a service that shows a declining customer experience , false promises etc, they would do well to learn from Ratners or Vw and reconnect to what customer service actually means

Recently purchased a TV through PC World/Curry's in October, paid for the product and was given a delivery date 18th December. Waited in all day for the delivery and at the end of the time slot received a text to state 'Delivery cancelled' no explanation given just stated it was cancelled. Tried to call the customer service department, was on hold for 20mins twice and each time just cut off! We had 8 deliveries that day as we moved house and they all arrived as promised, except PC World! It was my own fault for purchasing it through them in the first place, i used to work for Dixons (same company) 20yrs ago in their customer service department and it was shocking what they go up to, completely incapable of running a business. The manufacturers who supply them their products should stop, that's the only way they will be forced to deliver a service, if they're even capable that is. MANUFACTURERS LOOK AT THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS AND MANY SITES, DON'T CHEAPEN YOUR BRANDS BY ALLOWING THIS BUNCH OF MORONS THE CHANCE OF SELLING THEM! There are 753 companies reviewed in this category on Trust Pilot, Curry's Pc World are 746 and Pc World are 752, say no more, DO NOT USE THEM! To cap it off, still no delivery date and no promise of a refund, i believe that is theft!

This company is a joke. I have ordered an Xbox bundle on the 23rd of November. After 2 weeks no communication about my item. I have phoned them about 5 times. Each time you have to hold at least 30 min. On last Friday they promised it will be dispatched on Monday. Nothing happened on Monday. Phoned them Monday evening they promised next day dispatch. Nothing again. Today they told me sometimes next week they deliver. When I started to complain the lady on the phone told me do not complain to PCWorld, complain to Microsoft, because they are not delivering to them. I told her when I ordered the item it was in stock. I ended up cancelling the order. When I asked to talk to a manager she told me the manager can't help me. I mentioned her to what should I do now,m because obviously, I will not get the Xbox for Christmas, she told me I have had 3 weeks to decide. This is just unacceptable. AVOID this company. They think customers are stupid. I think they are waiting for the customer to cancel the order. I will never again use PCWorld !!!

Took a laptop to have a larger SSD card, and the operating system reinstalled. They said they would call me by the end of the day - the didnt. I made 2 further calls to their helpline and still no help. Got a call then 2 days after first going in, to say come to collect. Collected, got home and they didnt do what i had asked, so i had to fiddle with the BIOS to get the SSD card recognised, and in the end worked out i could have done it myself - wasted £60

It's the 3 day that I'm spending at home waiting for a delivery, and suddenly now is out of stock. - The first day they gave me a delivery window, so I waited for the item. The item was not delivered so I called them and after 40 minutes waiting I got to speak with someone that assured me the item had leaved the depot and that the driver was not answering, so they didn't know were it was. That is fine (I thought), as there are things they cannot control. - The second day I called first in the morning, and then at 5pm asking for my item. In both occasions they told me my item was on its way, due to arrive that same day, but that the delivery driver was catching up with the delivery of the day before, so it was expected to be late. Nothing arrived. - The third day, after calling and waiting on the phone, finally someone confirms that they don't have the item in stock, and that I have spend my last 2 days waiting for nothing. It seems to me that basically their customer service just try to pass the ball to the next one, knowing that they are not going to be hold responsible for it. At the same time, the waiting time on the phone (about 4 hours in the last 3 days) shows an obvious lack of personnel at their side, not ready for the extra work they need to do in Christmas period (that also matches with the "passing the ball" attitude). In short, if you are planning to order something from them, please be aware that if everything goes well fine, but if not, you will be dealing with a very poor customer service, with low capacity of response and without any idea of what is going on with your order (or with not problem of lying about it).

Got a tv from them the sound quality is rubbish and when I went back to the shop I was told you need a sound bar everyone knows that! Don't get anything from them. They are only interested in taking your money.

BE AWARE THEY SELL PRODUCT NOT THE ONE WHICH YOU SEEN ON DISPLAY. Luckily I was able to spot that prior opening the box and seal as otherwise no refund. Not surprised that was told not to go there by a friend who had bad experience also. WOULD NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE UNLESS YOU ARE DESPARATE FOR SOMETHING BUT PLEASE TRIPLE CHECK PRODUCT ON DISPLAY AND THE ONE YOU RECEIVE.

Reserved an item and to my amazement they sold it to another person in front of me. Who just happened to arrive in store on the day. Wasted time and money making a journey resulting in disappointment then blatantly lied to. Unprofessional and pathetic, avoid this too big to care company, pure arrogance.

Still no Birthday present 13 days after an in-store purchase of an Asus chrome flipbook Beware ! before you order in the store. Finally received the Chromebook on the 23rd August after purchasing on the 9th. The final straw was the Chromebook stopped working on Friday the 3rd November less than three months after receiving the item. I returned to Currys PC World to have them take my Chromebook away to try and find out the problem which can take up to 28 days. So my birthday present is spending more time at Currys PC World than with me. I am hoping this will have a happy ending with Currys showing me they can deserve a good review.

Hello guys I have been shoping at currys for a little over 10 years when i left my mum & dads house. I would say we have spent 10 to 15 thousand in that time. We have taken out care plans on two products are cooker and lap top the cooker has been replaced 3 times due to it being dangerous never said anything about inconsistent then. After the 3rd one we change cookers up to now this one is working great :-) Now the lap top has been replaced with in the first few months due to it being faulty never get that brand again. There again no word of inconsistent. We got a hp after that and other then having to spend hours at a time on to tech guys when it go's slow with bugs and stuff its been a great laptop. Unfortunately about 3 to 4 weeks ago i droped it down the stairs i had a palpitation attack has i have heart conditions i was on my way down stairs from resting in my room as i have not long had surgery i jolted and droped it i did not see it fall as i was panicking with myself i have done all the stuff you guys have done with the same ansers inconsistent but the guy who called me was a nice guy i think i was on the phone for 26 minutes anyway i did not get a later after that a manger who i believe to be a good man called me back and said they told him i would receive a response by the end of the week but it never happend the manager read out a later that he found on one of there systems and again they said it was inconsistent with what they would expect to see when lap tops fall down stairs. Know i have never heared so much rubbish in my life what do they expect to see the lap top was smashed badly i am sure everyone would expect to see the same. Its unbelievable to me when we have been shoping there for so long and been solid customers for years and the one time we need there help with a cover plan that we have paid for month in month out and they give us the run when where covered for accidental damage. This is the first time i have ever had a accident like this first claim ever for accidental damage. Its seems funny to me how if its something to do with manufacturers or a problem with software its done right away but if you have a accident you have to jump through hoops doing handstands. adding more stress to someone who already is having health problems. So right now we have no laptop waiting and waiting adding to my anxiety. As of right now the last 3 years of monthly payments of £8.50 where for nothing i would of been much better putting that money in my childrens trust found for there futures hope everyone else has it easyer then me as stress is a killer but if i was you knowing what i know now i would fix twice about taking a care plan thats claims to fix it what ever happens. there is no mention of we may not believe you and you will have to write letter after letter with no end if that is the case. No email has to be in writing. So if your thinking of taking this care plan know this its not insurance you can not go to the financial ombudsmen you have to take it to the small claims court if all else fales. So just think about all of this before taking a care plan that is sold to you as it will fix or replace what ever happens like it was sold to me. thanks guys best of luck

We bought a beko free standing dishwasher last Friday paid 10 pounds to have it delivered Saturday which it was.we informed the show assistant we had an integrated one which had broke down and wanted it replaced with a free standing he said it wouldn't be a problem. The man who turned up on Saturday said he wasn't qualified to take it out so we we went back to the store and they said they would send someone out who could on Wednesday. He turned up and said the same thing so we went back and got our installation money back.my husbands removed it himself now.not impressed at all with Currys.

I have had an HP laptop for four years then suddenly got a ten day countdown of my windows 8.1 license expiry. Of course, I contacted Microsoft who took remote access and confirmed that my license key was valid but there was a volume licensing problem. They advised that I go back to my supplier, namely PC World. After several days of emailing, I of course got nowhere, although they did confirm that all licenses are lifetime. Their Technical support suggested that I pay them £50 to do a factory reset of my laptop. Yes, a sledge hammer to crack a nut. This advise is the last method to choose but it does earn them £50 for something that you could do yourself if at all necessary. Being qualified in IT and therefore very literate, I sent many Host script files taken off my laptop showing the volume license issue, but they ignored, probably because they are totally ignorant or inexperienced. The one guy put me on hold whilst he 'discussed with fellow colleagues'. His reply was that the 'consensus of opinion' was that I had a Malware or a software issue. I had of course checked all this myself before making contact, which I did tell them. I did contact HP Volume Licensing who frustratingly, although correctly, advised I go through the official channel, PC World. All efforts failed, and with one day left of my activation, I politely contacted Microsoft again who checked my laptop and confirmed, yet again, that it was a volume license issue, but due to my frustration and being fobbed off by PC World, they issued a new retail key and activated as a gesture of goodwill. They also confirmed that restoring to factory settings would not have cured the problem. I have of course conveyed this back to PC World who 'de-escalate' emails to customer services support who basically politely tell you to get lost. They appear to base their help on how many others are experiencing the same problem? What a great method. Their slogan is : NEVER LEAVING A CUSTOMER TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES!!! What a joke. Those reading, please spread my new slogan FOREVER LEAVING A CUSTOMER TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES in the title. Thanks

The Store in Burlington Road New Malden is empty of staff. No one to ask questions, no one in fact to give your money to. Go elsewhere is my opinion and get a smile and a welcome that you don't get in New Malden.
