“I got charged for 150 pounds for visit and I have been told to pay additional 1000.00 pounds to fix my boiler , because it is German company Viessmann boiler part will cost 350.00 pounds plus labour 650 that makes 1000 pounds That is half of price of new boiler plus installation ! Refused to pay scam beg called different company Mason plumbers UK and paid 250.00 fixed charge , no new parts were needed ! It is scam company , do not trust Pimlico plumbers , scammers , I will never ever call them again”
“A disgusting disgrace - a scam company. If i could give them -10 stars I would.
They charge you £150 just to turn up. Then their plumber is an idiot who stands there swearing the whole time. He goes away and gets the wrong part. He says he will call me back. He does not.
They charge £150 for the second visit despite not having done a single thing on the first visit.
The repair is done incorrectly meaning I have to get a different company to come and fix it.
Pimlico refuse to come back to fix it without charging more and more and more money.
They refuse to give me a refund for overcharging me.
After threats of legal action they agree to refund part of the money.
It has been three weeks since they say they paid it and it has not come through. They refuse to tell me why, or any of the details of where they allegedly refunded the money to.
Their customer service and management are stupid, arrogant, greedy and thick.
I still do not have my refund almost a month later.
This company are disgusting crooks, scammers, an utter disgrace.
Do not EVER use them - they should be shut down.”
“Pimlico plumbers gave me a 12 to 6 pm time slot for my faulty boiler. They arrived at 6.50 pm,nearly one hour late and couldn’t get parts as everywhere was closed. Firstly,I would have expected a courtesy call to advise me they were going to be late.Secondly,They should have called me to reschedule. I was charged £180 plus VAT on top for an engineer to visit for 15 minutes to tell me everything’s closed. Won’t be using them again.Very poor”
“Called out for roof leak, was told over the phone the call out is 80 pounds plus first hour of labor to actually try to fix the problem and if it cant be fixed then priced an estimate will be supplied and choice given to proceed or not.
Guy shows up, get on the roof, looks latterly for 10 seconds , says he cant do it because it high and needs scaffolding, this will be 1500 pounds. does not even tyr to fix the problem.
Do not book thiis company , absolutely terrible !!!!”
“Pimilico plumbers came to service our boiler. The clock/timer was working when they arrived and then broken when I checked it the next day. I contacted them to fix it and they told me "it's not possible for their engineer to break the clock". What a crock of ****. We know can't schedule our heating to come on and off in a planned fashion and have to do it manually.”
“DO NOT READ THE FAKE 5* REVIEWS!!! This place is a joke, there’s a beluga called Leah who thinks she’s God because she can fire people if she doesn’t like you or is jealous of you. All the managers are so sick and disgusting especially Louis who has called people the n word and tries to hit on 18 year olds when he’s in his 30’s & talking about eating 🍑 to female employees. There’s another manager called Will who can had a week off work a couple of times for using ❄️. Another manager called Chris goes to Thailand and pays for services because no woman would touch him with a 10 ft pole. They think they’re so special and important because outside of work they have no lives and just eat tv dinners waiting to clock in again. There has been so many issues with HR in the booking department as the men there are DOGS. I want nothing but the worst for all of them especially female management who allow this to happen. I HOPE THAT PLACE BURNS TO THE GROUND.”
“Absolutely disgusting!- the plumber was wondering around the block of flats for good half an hour, unable to find the flat. Then charged me above £400 for labour, materials and visit . The job done was cutting a 30/50 cm peace of the plaster board and to put the camera down to find out where the water leak was coming from. I will not recommend Pimlico Plumbers to anyone!!!! There are so many other companies out there and self employed plumbers that would have done same job for £60-65.00.”
“This company is truly shocking and should be the subject of an investigation for poor practices. I was charged over £1,000 last Friday and literally have nothing to show for it. Two individuals turned up and spent an entire afternoon looking at a tank, without any repair work being undertaken, new parts etc. This is pure daylight robbery and I would advise anyone, even in an emergency, to do anything other than call these people.”
“Over £732 for replacing a flush valve.
My toilet required a very simple part replacement – a flush valve. I booked Pimlico Plumbers as I wanted to try and get the problem fixed the same day, and as a large company I expected them to carry relatively basic, universal parts. They said this was the case – that these types of parts are carried on the van and agreed this was likely to be possible in a single visit.
Later that day, the plumber arrived but without any parts and told me he'd need to make an estimate for the job and return another day. What he sent was a hugely time-inflated quotation of 2.5 hours (£450 for labour, plus £132 for parts) costing £582. Adding on top the £150 for the first visit, that would come in at £732 just for replacing a simple flush valve! To add insult to injury, he then left the whole thing unsealed during the visit (later claiming that applying this mastic to a small panel would take more than an hour!).
I booked another plumber who agreed this estimation was hugely inflated in terms of time, and was able to do the job in less than an hour for less than £200.
Across the two visits, Pimlico Plumbers would have charged almost £732 to replace a single part where another reputable plumber charged less than £200.
In reviewing my complaint, I've spoken to a very unhelpful, rude and dismissive person in their customer service team who kept telling me it was a premium service, and telling me that the basic service needed was my opinion. I've very little hope they'll sort this out. I'm still out of pocket £150 from Pimlico Plumbers. I've been burnt by them and would never, ever trust them again.”
“These jokers are a complete nightmare to deal with and will not engage - they really don't give a stuff and it is all about numbers. talk about qualified plumbers -they cannot even read the 'golden rules' on the fitting of a Saniflo macerator. Don't touch then with a barge pole.”
“I have found out from my new plumber that they installed the wrong type of taps in my kitchen. I have a gravity system and the plumber from pimlico installed pressure taps, therefore the water flow is poor. The new Plumber told me to get back to them to sort it out. Don't think I now can trust them.
Will not use them again”
“Avoid at all cost! They are thieves! They literally will rob you. They charge you per hour. They charged me £180 for a guy to come unblock the kitchen sink. The guy ended staying half an hour more. He left and after two hours it was blocked again. We called them and they say that I needed to pay the £90 I was missing + other £180 for him to come back to check the thing again!!! Basically they were charging me £450 for a guy to unblock a sink! They are criminals! That company should be closed!!”
“We had a water leak and called them. They told me it would cost £198 to see someone after 6PM but given the level of leakage we said fine. We were told the person would come between 5 and 9. We waited. At 8:30 I called to ask when they would be coming. The person told me they had booked me in for tomorrow. This mistake in itself was unacceptable given our situation but the lady on the phone was laughing (!!!?!!!; if the company is reading this listen to your call recording). I don’t even know what to say and the grief this company’s irresponsibility has caused us. I have asked for a refund but who knows if they will even give that (I will take legal action if they don’t). This is the most shocking customer experience I have ever had. Do not trust them with your needs especially if you are facing an urgent situation.”
“Completely dishonest aircon quote - quoted for work that was not needed, equipment that was not needed and labour that was not needed. Total job was completed for £4,800 to very high standard, the quote from Pimlico was £15,000. Work assessment took around 10 minutes charged at £120. Turned out assessor didn’t really know anything about Airconditioning, just used some words they’d been told to say as they’d used them incorrectly. I’d given them the benefit of the doubt over anecdotal tails of overpricing, by getting them to quote - it’s the last time I’ll be doing that.”
“Insane pricing out of this world. They quoted us 2500 for a simple interior bathroom door: 1100 for the door and 900 for the labour (vat was 400). This is their way of turning down jobs after you pay the 100 pound visit fee. Funny enough, the 'engineer' estimated around 800 total for the job.”
“I am still following up from a very expensive botched job on 2022 - endless calls to despatch and promise to respond - latest apology and no action on march 13 - I have spent thousands over the years and the expense was until now worth the service.”
“Do not use this company!! On top of their insane pricing, their engineers are encouraged to cause or lie about further works and are penalised if they do not. Materials are marked up by 25% before VAT. You will pay well over the odds for any work conducted by this dishonest business. Do yourself a favour and call your local tradesman.”
“On 8 Feb I made an appointment with Pimlico to fix my boiler. They charged me £150 for the work. I filled out a Pimlico contact form explaining that the timer wasn’t working properly. The engineer arrived and I had to explain the problem with the timer again. He then made a phone call to someone, asking what he should do, and then told me that I would need a new timer and he would order one. There was nothing else he could do till he got the new timer. I explained that I had written all this down on the contact form, so he should have known what the problem was. Also that I had paid £150 and he had stayed for 15 minutes and not actually done any work. He said the money I had paid was a call out charge!
(The Pimlico Plumbers website clearly states on the Rates page “No call out fee”. )
I made a complaint to Pimlico’s Customer Services. Their Consumer complaint resolution policy states that We aim to respond to all complaints within 48 hours.
12 days later there was still no response. When I attempted 3 times to phone Customer Services, I was put through to the wrong department and then they hung up on me.
I sent a second complaint and then they deigned to respond to my first complaint, saying
“Please note that a call-out fee is a fee charged for the call out in addition to any labour charges for the visit. We do not charge any call-put fees, you have been charged the minimum charge of on hour for the engineer’s visit to your property, assessment, and professional advice.”
So let me get this straight. I paid £150 for the Pimlico engineer to tell me what I had already told him in writing. Because they carry no parts , I then would have to pay out at least another £150 for him to come back and actually do the job
At this point I cancelled the job.”
