“Purchased a dishwasher with installation in powercity, The driver didn't add the water pipe to the same connection and plugged it into a capped connection so it couldn't drain, Called powercity as it wasn't working and they said they would have an agent call out. Agent from the dishwaher called out and straight away noticed the cap and fixed it 2mins, Bill then sent to me for 75EUR and when I contacted powercity I was told this is not their fault as it is between me and the ''delivery agent'' and they will not help at all. Guess that is why they are amendment their customers pay for installation in CASH!!! Buy Irish??? Delivery agent is the biggest BS going!! DISHONEST COMPANY!!!”

“Bought a tv online, when it was delivered it was broken.
That aside customer service was excellent. Only email system means no long wait on automated phone calls.
Initial delivery had to be rearranged on day of delivery and when tv was broken emails were answered within minutes. If a call was required they called back within minutes.
Amazing”
“Absolutely shocking customer service. Bought a Samsung TV, asked for like for like and when I got home the sound was appalling. Sounded very tinny, which I would class as inferior goods. Power city would not take the tv back or even give a credit note. Have bought every appliance off them for 20 years. Never again. It’s a shame because I would prefer to buy from an Irish company.”
“Paid for them to take away old broken fridge, when delivering new fridge. Told us yes, then while my mother was home alone, delivered the fridge. Demanded cash to take away old fridge. We didn't hear it so left fridge out the back on the grass. Horrible service. Cowboys.”
“Coolock branch, good pleasant staff.
However hands tied , even to comply with consumer law.
A Dyson vacuum cleaner, within guarantee, ceased ability to charge.
A very pleasant staff member told me I'd have to contact Dyson and offered me a phone number. I told him this was in breach of my legal right to request repair, replace or refund. He phoned some lady in head office who totally disregarded my request that Power City deal with the matter and said"we will not book in that machine".
My first thoughts were go to Small Claims Court, but thinking of time involved I decided to eat humble pie and I contacted Dyson. Irish phone number but you end up speaking to a call centre, somewhere possibly on this planet.
Very pleasant staff. No idea of whatever system they are supposed to use.
A book could be written on the number of time arrangements for resolution of my problem have been changed. Still no vacuum and a month has passed.
Small Claims Court, here I come.”
“The salesman I dealt with was good and nice .
The Delivery man was A111 , a lovely gentleman who could not do enough.
I had to return a product because it was a gift and the recipient already had exact same , upon approaching the store I was told I cd just have a store voucher, eventually the young man made a call or did something and I got the purchase put bk on my card .
Powercity seems a company that majors on tactics , they are a painful company to deal with overall.
They have good staff but their hands are tied past selling.
I would think again before buying with them .”
“Above male can't handle being challenged by a female customer stating facts and hangs up like the coward he is. From the outset, he raised his voice, spoke over me, wouldn't allow me speak, was defensive, angry & aggressive. And this was in response to a complaint I lodged following a faulty purchase, of which his staff in Sallynoggin would not engage. Instead they advised me, infront of other customers "I don't care, I don't get paid enough to deal with this". Yup! Damien might be the reason why every Power City store is empty nowadays, with negative customer reviews & experiences online, with majority of staff having the exact same manner and behavior as him. Maybe he trains them accordingly given his exemplary ability and skill to provide customer service? As he refused to give me his name & sniggered I "go for it" regarding my taking the complaint further - thanks Damo...I will...don't you worry. It also took 1 search on Google to source your name, how interesting. It's sad how angry, aggressive, & bitter this male is. To be fair, I'd feel like a failure too, if at his age, I was still knowingly selling customers faulty appliances from Power City & then shouting at them when they legally dared to seek customer support. Remember Damo, without us awful customers (as we're all wrong & you're right), we keep you employed, for now. However, as a long time customer, who supported an Irish business and my local Power City store - from today, I look forward to taking my custom elsewhere. As will all my family. Thankfully, there are many consumer options nowadays and even if slightly more expensive, at least customers won't be scammed, degraded and shouted at for purchasing items in good faith. Power City can solely thank Damien O'Neil for representing their brand, 'managing' all complaints and thus ensuring he drives away business as a result. Own goal. Well done Power City for employing such a pleasant and professional individual, in spite of all the negative and shocking reviews about Damien O'Neil online. You really should take this seriously and take appropriate action accordingly. Damien proudly shouted that there's "no-one above him in Power City" to escalate complaints. His notions are hilarious if nothing else. Well there actually is Damo, it is called SMALL CLAIMS COURT. And exists for this exact purpose and the likes of you scamming customers. You should be more careful. We'll give you the day out in court that you deserve, to meet & greet your customers face to face. If you're reading this (I mean what else would you be doing) - it was a pleasure 'conversing' with you this morning and sorry for you that you couldn't handle my refusal to be bullied by you. No-one likes a bully. And further sorry you choose not to record your calls with customers. And further sorry, you appear challenged in how to send an email. But between recordings and emails - this would result in your behavior & liability being on record wouldn't it? Record your calls with him people! I wish you luck Damo, cheer up, stop being a bully & take a customer service course or better still, a change of 'career'. You are welcome.”
“Terrible company, please never use their unprofessional services. So many better and and reliable retailers out there. You will have nothing but trouble with powercity. If you have to have the misfortune to phone customer support then good luck to you.”
“We bought a BOSH fridge/freezer in Power City at the end of December and not working from the start so contacted Bosh of which engineer said it works well(fridge either frozen or ringing with water),freezer so bad the draws and everything in it so frozen you need a chizle to get out and icicles hanging of the draws and ice cream so frozen takes hours to defrost to spoon out)!
So called out to the store and was told by a helpful girl that that is def faulty and organising another engineer to give us an "uplift no" so can be replaced.
However no one rung so called into store again explaining and got a no.from above mentioned so called customer service manager Damien O'Neill(and no one is above him!!! so I can take a hike)! How can a company emply such rude, aggresive, shoking mannered, shouting at me its beyoned me and its not my only review who mentions this disgracful staff!
I said that like many other people won't again shop in there(so the head office should pay attention to this as they are loosing a hell of a lot of bussiness) and I advice people to take POWER CITY to smalls claims court which we will do and won't let them fob us off. They are selling not fit for purpose products and are responsible for replacment of such products(and take it up with manufacturers!!!!)
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!”
“I unfortunately had to go to a&e with my daughter on the day of delivery and missed it, we had no fridge so was particularly stressed, it was a bank holiday weekend. I reached out to the team and they said that they would try their best to rearrange delivery for the next day but couldn't guarantee. That evening I received a text to say it would be delivered the following day, such a relief”
“Stay away from this shop at ALL cost. I wanted to change a present that I will not use for store credit or money I paid 2 days before. The box was closed and in perfect conditions. They told me to follow a member of staff that will do the refund. Another staff that previously in the till opened the box, came and told the girl not to do the refund. She refused to identify herself and they said I need to contact the main office. I asked for a manager to the security or someone in charge to explain what happened and how I was mistreated. I will complain to the consumer office, but do you need this hassle when the law protects the consumers? AVOID THE STRESS AT ALL COSTS particularly if you are buying something dear cause the customer service it’s appalling…”
