Their month to month rental policy is for their benefit. My storage space started out under $200 a month. It has more than doubled in 2 years. My unit was broken into and I never received a dime from the insurance they force you to buy.

When I moved in to Public storage, I wasn't told that Public storage raises your storage by over $70 every 6 months. And like I said not by a few dollars but over $70 at each time. The two ladies working were nice at first but when I said to one of them. If I could talk to someone about lowering my bill. Then she had nothing to say no offers to lower my bill. From a bill that started at $180 after one year my bill would have been $337.00 a month starting February first. So after telling my kids how much my bill was going to be on February first. And with me being on a fixed income. Yesterday they came and moved me out of public storage and it to a more reasonable place. And I will tell everyone unless you have over $70 for every 6 months with public storage to be added to your bill. Don't Do It look somewhere else.

Just moved out of my Public Storage unit. Awful company, mostly a cash grab with little consideration for customer. If it were not for employees Osman and Dolly before him (who were excellent and very helpful) I would have left a long time ago. Mainly the problem is that they seem to expect one person to run the whole place at any given time and it can't be done. If I needed to talk to a person I had to wander the halls and find where they were cleaning. Never enough carts, automatic doors and elevators go down often. Elevator was out for a week once. Never again.

The storing is ok even though contract says “no pets” that’s because each unit comes with its own pets that soil and chew up belongings. My biggest complaint is that there is not one single location that accepts cash that always has a person working. I am sick of wasting time, money and gas driving around just to try and pay rent. Never have I, in 60 yrs, had a company make it so difficult to accept money...legal tender. The few folks that I have run into working where I store are really super young lady’s. A few have been down right ugly, condescending and rude by how they talk to me and accusing me of sleeping when I stop to sit in my truck and rest while at my unit. Do better. Cash is legal tender in the US.

Rented a 5x10 unit, measured space it’s actually 4’3” not 5. The app doesn’t work at all. False advertising about monthly costs.

In September they told me my credit card was about to expire, no problem, I logged in and updated credit card info. They billed me, and again in October, then November they said I am overdue, I logged in and my autopay had been turned off. They dinged me $40 for overdue, I didn't turn off autopay, now it smells like their crappy software is making them extra money by turning off autopay. Also, they don't have ANY customer support, even if you log in there's nowhere to contact anyone for help. The on-site staff is good, but I should have to drive all the way there to get help with my account.

If you're looking for a cheap place with rodent urine and crackheads, then Public Storage is your place. If you're looking for frustration every time you go to your storage locker and try locking your unit with one of the Public Storage locks, you found your place. You will spend 20 minutes trying to get the cheap piece of garbage $15 lock they charge you to actually function and lock. If you're looking for incredible price hikes, this is also your place.

This is not a review for the current staff-- they actually communicate in person and are trying to do a good job. I have been leasing from Public Storage off and on for over a decade. My location at Bolton Road has recently finished renovation of the exterior, but during this time the entry pad to my storage was painted- so I couldn"t access what I needed for work, the manager was poor-- would not return at least 4 of my requests even through another Public Storage employee. I was not wasting my time, so this period went on for months. Once I saw him around 1:30, and he walked up to his apartment on site, and said he was on break. Months later, he later was replaced by employees that you can actually communicate with. He probably was perfect for the renovating owners because he was ignoring most likely all complaints. Rent kept going up from my initial $189 of (so be careful, get the cheapest one you can deal with because your rent WILL go up) They paved the entire site, with no compensation except with increased rents. They did reduce my rent for 3 months (like I mentioned had tried to reach them prior) but now set to increase to $335. My entry lock has been bent for the entire time and I have to use an object to close it. Internet was down so the gate wouldn't open my the app that I have always used, so I was lucky they were there. to help me. I called the 800 number supplied for help, but that was worthless and would go dead. The only communication has been in person at this location. I have had the same features in my storage unit, except now the grounds look newer.... I am going to move.

I have been with Public Storage for a while. The unit is fine. But I started with a $121 per month, and have just received a notice that they are changing it to $427 per month. Be AWARE that they get you in and then bait and switch ...upping it not soon after, but then again every year. They are swindlers! And there does not seem to be anyone to reach out to help you. Oh. And the same place is advertising $151 per month for the same size right now!! Go ELSEWHERE and negotiate a longer contract in case!!!

I started paying about 60 Dollars for a 5 by 5 space, I never failed in my payments, now they raised my rate. I am paying 140, it is a lot for me to pay for a 5 by 5 space, I called them on the phone and tried to get them to help me to reduce the price, but no one wanted to help me, in the end I paid everything, I have been paying for two months now, and I don't know what to do, I feel bad, the only thing I can do is be honest and complain about what is happening to me through this medium, I hope Read my message and help me. Thank you.

I am still here. I have been a faithful customer for almost 3 years and I have 2 different units in 2 states. I am extremely disappointed that my rates has continued to increase. This last one is crazy ridiculous. I will be removing my stuff as soon as I can this summer. This is bad business. I will never use public storage again due to the rate increases.

I am shocked, in the middle of a pandemic, the worst unemployment since the Great Depression, the country in a recession, and Public Storage has the audacity to raise rates. Insurance companies, rental companies, utilities are all holding steading (making commitments to do so) or even lowering rates to help people out. Public Storage raises rates. My spouse was laid off, I know many people who have no income except unemployment. Not even so much as an email about challenging times. When I wrote, what did I get back "move to a less expensive unit." This is the epitome of corporate greed Hoboken NJ Public Storage.
