“I have been doing the majority of my grocery shopping since 1983 at Publix and have always been satisfied for the most part. Since Covid and inflation kicked in I have noticed that pricing has gone up significantly and customer service has steadily declined. Recently I complained to an employee about the pricing and was told that the store was in a (vacation-tourist area) and that was the reason for the pricing. I live in Ormond Beach and my modest guess is that the ratio of local residents over tourists that shop in this store is 500 residents to 1 tourist. I don't understand why local residents should be gouged like tourists at Publix or anywhere for that matter. The Publix where I shop is 1.5 miles from my house which makes it convenient.
The obvious greed is overwhelming.
This evening I ordered sandwiches from the deli online and was given a pickup time. When I arrived 2 minutes past the pickup time I was told the order had not been started. The deli was not overly busy. I was upset, but said nothing and waited another 10 minutes for the order. I thought that ordering ahead was meant to be a time saver. The deli manager came to me and apologized over and over with meaningless excuses.
I had begun shopping Publix for sale items and BOGO items only. I have noticed that now there are lesser quality products at the higher prices. Also perishable items are sometimes expired or only a couple of days from expiring.
In short, I will spending my money elsewhere. There are other places to shop.
I would have given 0 stars, but had to give at least 1 in order to complete the review.

“Me parece mentira que el Helado Marca Publix este contaminado con pedazos de Nylon, realmente es la primera vez que me pasa y llevo muchos anos comprandolo, pero me parece indignante que un bebe pueda consumirlo y se lo trague porque no se de cuenta o su mama no se percate de esto, porque soy un adulto y no lo vi, solo lo senti en mi boca y me puse a vomitar, asi que me imagino como seria si lo consumiera un bebe.
I find it unbelievable that Publix Brand Ice Cream is contaminated with pieces of Nylon, it is really the first time it has happened to me and I have been buying it for many years, but I find it outrageous that a baby can consume it and swallow it because he does not realize it or his mother does not notice this, because I am an adult and I did not see it, I only felt it in my mouth and started vomiting, so I imagine what it would be like if a baby consumed it.”
“I've shopped here since I have lived in suburban Atlanta. I spend $300-$500 per week. Publix has DISCONTINUED SUPPLYING too many items that I purchase. I get them through Amazon now. I WILL NO LONGER BE SHOPPING AT PUBLIX.”
“This place is going downhill, everything is overpriced bad quality and the employees clearly work there for necessity not because the enjoy working there.
It took 38 min to get my sandwich order today I was the only one ordering as well. No line……
Last time for me …. I’m out”
“Publix has already begun to increase prices and probably using excuse of the tariffs. Certain products I buy ALL the time have risen as much as $3-$4 in one week. Seniors simply cannot afford the GREED of Publix; they lost me as a customer even though the store is directly across the street from where I live.”
“2nd time this year. Failure to rotate and check for expiration dates on meat hence my husband just brought home 2 expired by 5 days and clearly RANCID pork roasts. Lost my meat business for good!”
“Don’t usually buy meat at Publix, but gave it a try, what a mistake. T bone steak on sale 9.99 lb it was like shoe leather. I get much better meat at Winn Dixie”
“I’ve been a loyal and usually a satisfied customer of Publix for 40 years. This past week I experienced something that was totally out of sorts- 8pm on a Wednesday, went to the deli to purchase sliced meat and cheese only to be told the deli was closed due to not enough staff. The young lady was very apologetic. I don’t blame her for the situation but I do wonder when corporate is going to solve the repeated issues with the Deli departments. From reading these reviews, the Deli seems to be a continuous common frustration for shoppers
everywhere. 🫤”
“Customer service, timing and ability to answer questions was impressively bad. I was provided incorrect information on dispensing laws, which is easily found on the state board of pharmacy site. I waited 2 hours to pick up after a prescription was called in, and then waited another 45 minutes after I arrived to pick the prescription up. I finally left when it still wasn’t ready after 45 minutes. It’s a non prescription item.”
“Twice in one week I tried to make a purchase at the service desk at the Corkscrew Commons store in Estero Florida. Twice in that week's time I was ignored by service desk workers who stood around having a laugh and chatting with one another. They didn't even acknowledge my presence. I left. This store continues to disappoint; I've shopped there for more than 15 years. My tip: if you need help, don't count on it.”
“I shop at Publix in Ramblewood Square. Well, not anymore. I’ve had my last bad interaction with them. They have the rudest employees and the food is always expired. What is happening at this store, which is new, that a majority of the employees have a bad attitude? Is anyone monitoring the management team or is it because you need employees desperately? From the customer service desk to the deli, to the meat team. Just an awful experience every time!”
“the meat at publix supermarkets is about the worst i've ever had. I'm from the northeast and used to get fresh and tasty beef. The stuff they call "steak" and "beef" is horrible. Don't know if it will be any better, but I'm at least going to try Winn-dixie ... it truly can't be any worse. They must buy from the cheapest suppliers they can find”
“Another fail by the worst Deli manager at any publix. Runs out of 2 types of breads for subs at 5 o'clock. A good manager would not have that happen. Btw if it was my first experience with her deli I'd be more forgiving. But after 6,7,8 etc times I'm tired of her incompetence”
“More than 30 minutes on the deli subs line. Is not only one time, it has been the last 4 times I came in two weeks. Publix needs to improve the speed. Plenty of people just getting tired and leaving the line because of the ridiculous wait time for a sub!”
“Completely disappointed with the customer service. the price is the highest of any grocery chain I have shopped in for the same product. Was at my local store in Coconut Creek and Lyons Road, this morning to get some empanadas just like in other days. but today a young woman that appeared to be the assistant manager when asked by an employee about it ignored me and after four minutes of waiting said sorry, they won't be ready for a half hour”
“Horrible customer service.
Deli wait was very long. Not the first time. The deli employee did not speak even when prompted. Cashier was rude and unhelpful. Manager was uncaring and robotic. Prices go up and service goes down.”
