“Land portions were very good. The Evolution needs work, tired, worn, dated. Dietary needs were, at times, honored. One guide left his group by themselves in the water snorkeling because he was "cold". This was a safety concern to me. This happened three times. Food was above average. Captain was very good. Cruise director was very good.”

“Our trip was amazing! Quasar handled all of the arrangements so well and we loved everyone we worked with from start to finish. “We had an amazing trip on the Evolution! Everything was well-organized and service on board was exceptional. It was a great blend of adventure and relaxation. Our guides (Bolo, Christina and Diego) brought us close to wildlife during the day, and we were treated to amazing drinks and great conversation on return (shout out to bartender Caesar!). The meals were incredible - tasty and varied - with caring attention to our kid's allergies. Highly recommend Quasar for a memorable Galapagos experience!”

“We recently complete a week long trip to the Galapagos on the M/V Evolution. We were well cared for from the time we arrives at the Quito Airport until we returned a week later. The activities were many, generally 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. If you want to do everything there is minimal down time except in the late afternoon before the next day briefing and dinner. As a couple over 70 there were a couple of hiking activities we passed on. Snorkeling among the sea lions and turtles was a fun experience. Lots of different fish and crabs to view in the water. The sea lions were particularly playful and would even nudge you in the Ponga if they wanted to play some more. The wet suits, masks and fins provided worked well with the help from the experienced staff. Snorkeling was offered almost daily. An underwater camera is a great asset. After snorkeling, time in the hot tub warmed you up. There were times we could relax at the beach and watch the children make sandcastles or explore the length of the beach. Once back on board, the open bar was a favorite of the adults and the children. We were broken up into 3 groups and stayed together when in the Ponga. We became experts getting in and out of the Pongas (rafts). The expert guides rotated among the groups so you became familiar with all of them. The passengers were very friendly with our large group (18) as we mingled with them during meals and social time. Dining was both indoors and outdoors depending on the weather. Many different types of food were offered catering to the meat eaters and vegetarians. There is Wi-Fi available, but the band width is not great. When fewer passengers were on the ship, it was faster, but not speedy. There is no laundry service but there is a drying line with clips for all types of things at the front of the boat. But “everyone was in the same boat” Dress was very casual. Certainly recommend the trip with Quasar vs a land based trip with day trips to the islands.”

“White glove service all the way. Professional and caring crew. Beautiful stateroom. Excellent food with attention to my familie's vegetarianism and my daughter's peanut allergy. Our trip on the Evolution had at least 8 vegetarians from different families and we were all well fed. Incredible excursions to islands that show what the world was like before people in such a natural way. Memorable animal encounters on land and in the water. Friendly fellow passengers that felt like family by the end of the trip. Plan to return again in the future and for sure will be with Quasar on the Evolution or the Grace.”

“An excellent trip from start to finish! Whales, sharks, turtles, flamingos, penguins, we saw it all! The food was delicious, the staff amazing, the sights breathtaking. Quasar handled all transfers and details without a problem. Whole trip was wonderful.”

“This was a dream come try for Nancy and me. To say that Quasar exceeded our expectations, is too much of an understatement. What made it possible was the incredible staff aboard the Evolution, who worked tirelessly to ensure we maximized our experiences. Their professionalism in and out of the water, shown forth each day. They were able to take advantage of a rare siting of blue whales in which we spotted no less than six whales and were able to observe them for almost an hour. They were most accommodating to Nancy and me, who had to be the oldest couple aboard, but able to participate in all events. “I found the size of the Evolution just right for this kind of trip. The staff and guides were very helpful and friendly and some were very amusing! The guides were excellent. The food was wonderful (and plentiful) and I learned and saw a lot.”

“My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the Darwin's Legacy (2 weeks) cruise on M/V Evolution with Quasar. The guides were outstanding, our room on C deck was comfortable, and the food was wonderful with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, and local fish options. Quasar took excellent care of us from the time we arrived at the Quito airport to head to Baltra through the time we headed back to the mainland after our cruise completion. We especially appreciated the commitment to safety held by all the crew and staff of the Evolution. The month of May turned out to be a great time to visit the Galapagos Islands. Blue-footed, Red-footed, and Nazca boobies were all courting and nesting, as were the Waved Albatross. Enjoyed snorkeling almost daily with all the beautiful fishes, grazing sea turtles and marine iguanas, sea lions, sharks and rays. We also enjoyed kayaking. It is a very active itinerary.”

“I could go on for hours about the magic of the Galapagos Islands, but you are here to review Quasar and the Evolution Yacht, so I will stay focused. The staff aboard the Evolution made all the difference and were truly adored. The naturalists knew the Islands intimately and shared their knowledge in creative, interesting, and often humorous ways. For instance, sea lion whiskers can sense electrical impulses and feel our heartbeats, which is why they swim close to us—they enjoy our excitement. The naturalists are full of such fun facts! The chefs prepared incredibly tasty yet healthy meals with a wide variety of options. Our rooms were tidied several times daily, with towels folded into fun designs. These details added to the fun of this adventure. Every staff member was courteous and always delightful. This adventure is meant for those wishing to explore actively, with up to four different excursions a day! The overall organization of the itinerary pleased this type A. Everything was smooth and timely. We hiked, kayaked, snorkeled, and toured in the dinghy. Hikes were often over rugged terrain, but they were short, only about a mile, allowing us to enjoy and photograph the wildlife. The optional activities were never overwhelming, and there were always less challenging options. Most excursions lasted about an hour, which was perfect. We returned to the yacht between adventures to grab a deliciously prepared snack and freshen up before heading off to the next one. The size of the yacht also positively influenced our experience. We were broken up into three groups of ten people, so every excursion felt personalized. Instead of just sightseeing, we learned in-depth about all the natural wonders and animals.”

“The crew and naturalists were wonderful, the food was great, the bar was superb, and the activities were non-stop. The Grace rooms were wonderful and the common areas spacious and comfortable. The wildlife, snorkeling, views and kayaking were as advertised. A great experience. It truly was an adventure and not a vacation.”

“Quasar organized the trip of a lifetime. Everything was taken care of from shuttles to airport transfers to flights...you name it. The Grace was beautiful. I was traveling with my son so we shared a room but it was spacious and comfortable and conveniently positioned for all things. The crew was incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was fantastic, our cabins were stealthily attended and even the captain participated in our daily excursions. Our expedition guides made everything fun, but they were also incredibly informative. I loved it all and can't say enough about the trip, the boat, the people and Quasar”

“The crew and staf f were great. Ariana, our cruise director, was kind and lovly. Naturalists were interesting as were all the islands visited. My dietary restrictions were not met, not at all. And, I suffered in the toilet for it. The cook and chef should have read my concerns and provided a solution. Another passenger had issues worse than I. We are not so fond of group tours so I mostly kept quite. Some had displayed a propensity towards the right wing but I remained tight lipped polically. The boats rocking and rolling made me think, as an after thought, that the ship was not as calm as, say, a wider more stable craft with double hulls.I”

However, I am genuinely sorry to hear that your dietary restrictions were not met adequately. Our chefs are always very attentive to such needs and usually receive great compliments for their ability to accommodate various dietary requirements as you can read on the many other reviews about our food on this platform. They were indeed aware that you do not consume whole corn kernels, mayonnaise, cream or buttery sauces, and prefer very few fried foods. It's disappointing to hear that this attention did not meet your expectations this time, and we apologize for any discomfort this may have caused you. Regarding the ship's stability, I want to clarify that catamarans are not inherently more stable when navigating rough seas compared to our monohull vessels equipped with stabilizers. The Galapagos experienced particularly rough seas during your trip, which contributed to the increased rocking and rolling you felt. We understand how this can affect your comfort and appreciate your patience during such conditions. While we strive to make each cruise as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, it seems we fell short during your trip.
