The service Rapid itself offers is always excellent, however they are let down by the awful UK Mail. If they changed their choice of courier it would be five stars all the way.

They didn't, I had to chase for a response and I think it's better to talk to a person, but I just got an email.

Despite sending us the wrong delivery originally, this was quickly rectified and incorrect goods collected and correct order delivered promptly.

5 Stars as far as service goes. I rated lower to get their attention about shipping. I wish these guys would give a lower tier option outside the UK and not just DHL. DHL is very expensive for small parts. A $10 item becomes $40 as a result. And if you live in Canada (perhaps elsewhere), DHL doesn't just charge taxes, they also charge a handing fee, which is calculated based on the item(s) value. So a $20 order, will cost $30+ to ship, PLUS another $15 to to $20 in handling fee's, which is usually collected at the door.

The order was delivered promptly, and I was well informed of when it would be delivered. Unfortunately one item of the three ordered was wrong. And email to Rapid got an immediate apology and the promise to deliver the correct item the next day. This did not happen (Delivery company problem) and I had to wait over the weekend for delivery. Again the incorrect item was delivered, however this was a mistake by the delivery company, and the driver returned with the correct item within the hour.

only sending goods to the billing address is a bit silly, my order was refused by our head office and sent to our delivery address in any case.

I paid for post and packing...and they sent it on a courier..which had to be signed for. I am not around in the daytime...one more delivery attempt and I have to collect from 40miles away , they re-delivered and left it with a neighbour, good job it was the right neighbour, the other one is very off with us.. Its a little thing but it caused me a load of grief

Whilst the Rapid product portfolio, pricing and delivery charges are generally good, their stocking policies are variable. Some products are on 7 days or more delivery as they come straight from the manufacturer. The other distributors we use (eg RS, Farnell, CPC) have direct stocks so next-day delivery is assured. A bigger complaint is that some items are discontinued with less than one month's notice. This happened recently and we purchased their remaining stock to ensure our manufacturing schedule. We now have to find an alternative supplier. This policy does not encourage my company to add Rapid products to my BOM's. In the long run this reduces my spend with Rapid.

Rapid electronics have a wide range of quality products mostly at very good prices. Their delivery service is also excellent. The only problem I have is they regularly run out of stock of items I use on a regular basis. This is a problem for my small business as I don't want to be spending time sourcing alternatives from other suppliers.

Good service apart from deliveries. When the website says goods are available for next day delivery if ordered before 7:00pm you would assume your order would arrive the next day. This is not the case, when i chased my orders (2 days after ordering) i was advised they were sent in the post with no way of tracking them and advised post takes up to 3 days. I now have 2 very angry customers!

Stock amounts can be misleading, website states in stock but at check out you end up with items on back order.

Recent price increases mean Rapid are now often more expensive than Farnell and RS. This would be ok if their delivery service was as good as the others but, unfortunately, orders usually arrive within 2-3 days rather than next day.

They have advised contacting our Sales Department should you find our pricing higher than our competitors when looking to place an order. With regards to deliveries, Customer Services advised that we do not guarantee next day deliveries against our standard delivery services, however guaranteed next day delivery is available for an extra charge.
