“Nobody available to assist with settling lead disputes, terrible customer service. Once signed up you never hear from them again and you can no longer speak to any staff behind the platform. Waste of money avoid at all costs”

“As a Tradesman who used it for 11 years it was fine until the increased my money payment fro £18 per month to £154.. Without me agreeing to it.. They have been very unhelpful and basically could not give a toss,they refused to refund me £300, I would not recommend any Tradesman or women to get involved with them. MR Charles Kelly”

“Biggest con artist on the web I joined yesterday and this morning after some thinking time when I looked at the price of Leeds that they were charging there was no way you can make any money or even get enough money back that you paid for your three months membership Total cons asked for the money back and they said you’re tied to Contact which you’ve not signed anything it was all done over the phone. It looks like the salesman get commission because he didn’t explain much. Just wanted your credit card details and even the app doesn’t work properly , constantly get emails of the same job over and over again keep well away it’s not worth the time and effort !!!! avoid, avoid avoid!!!!! £180 including VAT wasted!!!!”

“Was getting a lot of spam emails, so I looked at the footer of the emails and there is no link to unsubscribe. So logged in to my account and there is no way to remove / delete the account. Searched on their FAQ, apparently its a hot topic as its under the trending section, their response is to contact support. So I did and now I need to wait 3 days for a email response I may not get. Most sites let you click a link or go into your account to remove your data but this company holds on to your data breaking a'lot of GDRP laws. I don't trust them at all due to their practices.”

“Rated People remove bad reviews of Tradespeople as they get money for leads from Tradespeople. Lots of cowboy tradesmen have 5 star reviews on Rated People as they are biased towards Tradespeople. Check Google reviews of Tradespeople before bookong.”

“I just wanted some flat pack furniture put together, Cambridge area,then I had a flood of calls from people from London and all over anywhere but local,then I looked at the reviews and It seems I've had a lucky escape,won't be bothering again,truly bad news”

“I am a Plumber running my own business as a sole trader. Unfortunately I don't always have constant work so I have to buy leads from companies like My Builder and Rated People. In this case I bought leads from Rated People in January as a one off as business was a bit slow. I spent £120 and only managed to get one lead out of it at less than the the amount i spent. Obviously I came to the conclusion it was a waste of money. I thought that was it, until 3 months later they took another £120 from my account. I thought it was probably a mistake so asked for my money back. They told me I was in a 3 month rolling contract and it was to late to get a refund. Apparently I hadn't seen the small print. I'm fuming that a greedy company like this can just steal money out of your account with no warning and then refuse to give it back. Why would any one want to use a business that takes your money but provides you with nothing. From what i hear there not great at looking after there normal customers either. They just want the money and don't apear to care about anything else. Please don't use them as they have no customer service phone number and the only thing you can do is message them. I wonder why!!! These guys are criminals who don't care about customer service! I hate you RatedPeople!”

“I wish I'd seen this site before I posted my job on Rated People. The builder who contacted me had 15 5star reviews. I believed the reviews were genuine at the time. I paid him £3k for materials (he was a small business and I appreciate the difficulty small businesses have with cash flow etc) but notwithstanding numerous promises he has disappeared without doing the work. To make matters worse, he stole items from our property. Rated People don't want to know. Customers and honest tradespeople should avoid them.”

“We used a roofer that we found via Rated People and he did an absolutely awful job. The address he gave Rated People is a false one and we've sent them photos of the work he did and the damage he caused. We also showed messages and emails between him and us to show his false promised plus call logs to show we had tried to contact him. We also pointed out that a lot of the positive reviews for him appear to be fake (we foolishly didn't look at them deeply enough beforehand). Rated People aren't interested at all. So much for thoroughly checking the traders on their site! AVOID AVOID AVOID.”

“Rated People are not impartial, they are biased towards tradesperson, as they get fees from Tradespersons, and remove negative reviews of tradespersons, as it is in Rated Peoples financial interest to have positive reviews of tradespersons, as they get more money. You are not getting honest reviews on Rated People. Make Sure you also put tradespersons names in online search to find honest reviews elsewhere! I have recently reported Rated People to ASA and Trading Standards, as I have proof they are not impartial as they claim to be.”

“Marquis Allan who promised to create a marvellous kitchen took the old kitchen out dumped it in my bedroom and having taken some money up front disappeared. His Company ATD Home Improvements Bournemouth are cowboys builders, please do not invite them near your property. Even when he promised to send the deposit to my account and I tried through the Small Claims Court to get my money back he ignored the Judgement. So please do not contact them for any building work. Date of experience: 31 October 2022”

“Obtain money by deception i pay £72 a month and shoud get £80 in lead credit. No jiust take the money. no phone number that works, no email, just a contact form that no body reads. when you try and call on 4 different numbers you get the same message. there is no option to write a complaint about the service,as they dont have a complaints department ?.”

“I was on pay-as-you-go terms, and they offered me a try on a plan. Then I said I wanted to go pay-as-you-go again they cancelled my reviews and kicked me off their site after seven years with five stars, no complaints nasty attitude toward us trades peoples”
