“Don't use Rated people, suspect leads are fake? Well you're absolutely right, leads are purchased from agencies and the same leads can be found on other similar sites, no one will ever answer and guess what, you won't be refunded either because you'll be told there's a 20% limit. The goal is to make as much money as possible, no one cares about the tradespeople they just care that you pay. Leads are never vetted so honestly its hard to tell whats genuine and what isn't. Also during the corona virus crisis they have been informed to not suspend payments under any circumstances because the business wil collapse...again showing that no one cares about the trades person. I know this as fact as my friend works for them. Poor company poor service...don't waste your pennies on this site”

“Stay away from Rated People if you're a tradesman. I belive 99% of their leads are fake... Customers don't answer phone, mails or messages. How we can do something about this scam?”

“I was on pay-as-you-go terms, and they offered me a try on a plan. Then I said I wanted to go pay-as-you-go again they cancelled my reviews and kicked me off their site after seven years with five stars, no complaints nasty attitude toward us trades peoples”

“AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE; They sell you fake leads which never materialise and then refuse to refund you, and then when you try to quit, they carry on taking payments out of your account!!! I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for 4 months and they just continue to take money out of my account, even though I have it in writing that I have paid £53 more than the cancellation fee I agree with them in July!!!! ABSOLUTE SCAM ARTISTS; AVOID AVOID AVOID. There’s tonnes of graft out there, you don’t need these cowboys robbing you.”

“They retain your money and have a limit on refunds against dead leads and believe me. There are plenty of them. Will not be renewing. You can only contact them via email. They are not interested in solving your problems with you. Sooner or later they will fall apart because no one will want to subscribe to them. They literally thieve your money.”

“Rated People are criminals to trades people. They hold you into a subscription and do not respond when you want to cancel. They have been withdrawing money from my account unlawfully for 6 months and I am not using the company. They are holding onto unused credit and they are a disgrace. I wish I never signed up to them, everybody that are thinking of joining DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.”

“As a business owner never ever use this company to advertise your business your card details are kept and they keep taking money whehter you like it or not. they also damage credit as do random checks 20-30 times for some reason maybe it is to harm peoples credit... total shambles of a company.. AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

“Please be really careful with Rated people I'm speaking from my own experience which was terrible. I was on Rated people for 4-5 months with electrical trade and I've have won 0 jobs and in the same time with all my clients outside rated people I'm having none issues. For example: 1. Most of the adverts/leads are fake Uploading 2-3 times with same photos slightly different budget and description and normally lead should be uploaded just once and bought only 3 times from 3 different trades people. 2. On most advert you can't get in touch with the person they don't answer calls, text messages or emails Or if they do and you agree to meet with them to create a quote 90% of the time they will cancel it on the last moment or stop answering your calls prior meeting. So you are basically ending up with wasted own time and money for nothing in return. Yes you have the option to ask for refund on unsuccessful jobs but this is limited and also any credit isn't available for use on the next month. ***** I did contact rated people to get my account cancelled as I'm not happy at all with them services and they are refusing to cancel it stating that I've got 12 month contract with them which cannot be cancelled until is expired. But I never signed a contract with them, never been told, or informed when applying that they work like that, all I've been told is that every month when I top up my account with credit I can use that credit to buy leads and if I don't have credit I simply cannot buy any leads same as pay as you go sim card. So I've decided to mark my card as stolen in order to stop paying anymore to them (I couldn't just cancel the direct debit because they keep the information from your card in order to collect money from you every month) And now they insist that I own them 500£ for not paying them. 4-5 months in row but when you don't pay you cannot use any of them services. And basically they expect me to pay for nothing provided in return and threatening to transfer me to third party DEBT COLLECTORS. So please be careful if you decide to choose rated people as they can create massive headache to you, thank you for reading my comment hopefully it's been some help.”

“An absolute scam, do not ever use. The customer services do nothing but refuse to help and carry on charging you for a service that provides literally nothing. I have had to fold up my company due to these uncertain times and Rated People refuse to cancel my subscription (which I have never received a job from in 9months and been paying £72 each month). The government need to look at scam companies like this”

“OK, After 10 years of being a member of Rated People as a Trade, its time for a giving them review! Let's start with positives than unfortunately for them are totally covered by negative and that why one star from me as scale it's not from 1-100 stars. I think after that long time I have the right to comment on them. Positives: 1. Absolutely amazing website and the app are done by professionals, easy to navigate, quickly responding with great design and coloristic. 2. Great idea of running a business. Negatives: 1. Rated People team will not remove customer comments from your account even if its obsessive, vulgar, not fair, simply criminal and racists. 2. Hundreds of false leads that cost between £10-60 each. 3. Extending contracts without informing trade. I have done around 500 jobs in total using just Rated People site for 10 years' time. I have spent thousands of pounds on the leads and earned around £70k only as 90 percent of the customers from that website looking for a bargain and not professionals that they can't afford. If I would start my business one more time, then all my investments would go into SEO and organic website positioning that is far more efficient with getting a job. It's very sad that after 10 years of working with them, they can treat you in a very bad and unfair way. They decided to lay, ignore and keep the side of racist and someone that promoting criminality behavior using swearing language and threatening language on trade public profile, that is running under name and surname. “Tradesmen !! Stay Away !! I was on this site for a few years and built up a good profile with all 5 star ratings and just one 4 star. Then i bought a job lead, booked it in, carried out the work. It was to move a pipe, It took an hour. The customer was really happy and paid. However they didn't rate me. Then the customer phoned me the next day and asked if i could quote for some towel rails to be fitted. This was a big new build house with 6 bathrooms. I gave them a quote, they excepted. I carried out the work. Then when i came to get paid , he didn't want to pay me the amount i quoted. I refused as this is not fair and the price was right for the amount of time i spent on site. His wife ignored him and payed me and said thanks. Then he left me a really bad review on Rated people. I couldn't get hold of rated people to tell them he's a cowboy customer. I phoned the customer up and tried to reason with him that this job was nothing to do with rated people as the initial job he was happy with. He was having none of it, and just kept saying "well you should of gave me a discount. " We had strong words with each other and i had to hang up. Then the next day i was removed off Rated people with no warning , no chance of explaining any thing to anyone. That was it! I don't know what he told them , but it was obviously lies. 2 years of being a squeaky clean good plumber with good ratings and one cowboy can do that. Theres no protection for good honest hard working trades men.”

“Rated People are not impartial, they are biased towards tradesperson, as they get fees from Tradespersons, and remove negative reviews of tradespersons, as it is in Rated Peoples financial interest to have positive reviews of tradespersons, as they get more money. You are not getting honest reviews on Rated People. Make Sure you also put tradespersons names in online search to find honest reviews elsewhere! I have recently reported Rated People to ASA and Trading Standards, as I have proof they are not impartial as they claim to be.”

“They are a disgusting thieving company with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, they haven’t even got a proper customer service number, they will steal money from your account without permission. My advice to anyone is have absolutely nothing to do with this company”

“Obtain money by deception i pay £72 a month and shoud get £80 in lead credit. No jiust take the money. no phone number that works, no email, just a contact form that no body reads. when you try and call on 4 different numbers you get the same message. there is no option to write a complaint about the service,as they dont have a complaints department ?.”

“Only reason that I gave rated people a 1 star rating is because the option of zero star was not available. I am a reliable trades person and have done excellent jobs when I do manage to get the work but that is rare. You pay a subscription and 70% of the time either the person looking for work to be done has hired someone else or they changed their mind comply. You dont get your credit back, they dont even have a number to call to complain anymore and when you do email them your complaints, they never respond in a positive manner. All I would say is, go get your own leads, yes you have to pay for it but at least they will be your leads. Rotten Company that has no integrity.”

“Discraceful, shameless, extortionate, liers, fraudsters, not sure how else to discribe rated people, all I can say in do not trust them! and for crist sake to do give them your bank details, 90 % of job leads are fake, some have cost me £60+ pounds that's on top of the £300 subscription, you can try to request a job lead credit back but they are always denied with no explanation why, you get charged for job leads you didn't even click on straight out of you bank account which could be as much a £150 a job! And Cannot even speak to anyone to explain what is happening or to cancel your account! instead of getting the desperately needed work I needed I've been fruaded out of hundreds of pounds, please do not fall for there lies! it begs believe how they are getting away with this most likely some cleverly worded small print, they need to be investigated.”

“Wow. Wish I had read your reviews first. Like so many I got a scam roofer. Cost me a lot for nothing. Leak not repaired. Go to your insurer do advice and they will usually refer you to one of their qualified suppliers. Steer well lear of this shower”
